Dwarf Weekend News #6
Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday off and relaxing - I know I am! Welcome to more news about Dwarves Mining Idle. In this news update I'll be going over what we're currently working on and a small delay with the update that's supposed to come with Pipes & Pumps update.
Before I get started, please join our Discord for quick updates, help and more!
Pipes & Pumps perks where you can decrease the timer it takes to pump liquid will have a short delay. With the holidays and being busy it's taken all of my time. I was thinking of coming up with the timer increases based on how many pipes there are, but make the timer decrease perk worth putting points in to. With Archaeology coming there will be some major changes with helping Dwarves do their business.
I'm currently writing the concept of Archaeology. After that, it will come to the artwork stage and as the artwork is being created I'll work on implementation. Here's a sneak peek of the concept and how Archaeology will work.
Archaeology Concept
Archaeology Book will be new. There will be a certain amount of sets to complete. These sets can be repeated once completed, but yield slightly better rewards each time. Kind of like a prestige. Each set will have fragments and these fragments allow you to complete an item within a set as progression. After a set is completed you will receive the necessary reward.
Archaeology is in pieces: On-Going Sets will have 4 complete Sets and Permanent Sets will have 4 complete Sets.
Archaeology: Gnome Set Sneak Peek

About
Gnomes once swarmed the Dwarven lands. Gnomes were a very popular race, but they were never heard from again.
Gnome Set 0/6
New items: Gnome Bone Fragment and Gnome Engineer Fragment
Completion Rewards

On-Going completion explanation
For example, if I completed the set twice, it will then repeat itself. The third reward will be #1, fourth will be #2, fifth will be #1, etc. This basically makes Archaeology constant and a set CAN be completed, but it's always on-going.
Archaeology is going to take a bit, but that was a nice little sneak peek of how it's going to work! There's more, but announcing it all now will take the surprise away. After Archaeology, we're really caught up in the roadmap. I didn't expect to get to The Surface update until some time next year, but we're zooming through! Once Archaeology is completed I'll be polishing up the game further, coming up with different ways in making certain features better and probably changing some things slightly before The Surface is started.
Thank you everyone that has played Dwarves Mining Idle. Please don't be afraid to join our Discord. We absolutely love feedback, constructive criticism and most importantly bug reports!
See you all soon and Happy Holidays!
