Hi, this is the development team of 213°F.

This will be the second part of a two-part series on the process of completing the design of our main character, TSURU-chan (Temporary).

This is a continuation from "Part 1", so please be sure to check out "Developer's Note #2" as well.



Once the general direction of the design has been determined, it is time to work out the details such as the back side, the accessories worn, and the materials used. In the game, players may not be able to see all the details, but anything that is important to the character or to the creation of the character is decided upon.

You can feel KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU's extraordinary(?) persistence everywhere.

And the very last. When it comes to the finishing stage, it is important to create facial expression patterns.

There are many other expressions for TSURU-chan (Temporary), but you'll have to wait and see what she actually looks like in the game when it's released!

Now that the design is complete, including the facial expressions and detailed settings, is TSURU-chan (Temporary) complete? No, no, no, this is not the end.

The real work begins now!

Once the design is complete, we need to get her into a state where she can actually be played and moved in the game. But how do we do that?

Hi, this is the development team of 213°F.

As we bring you the development of TURUGIHIME..., we will introduce the production process before the design of our main character, TSURU-chan (temporary), is completed in two parts!




The main character of TSURUGIHIME, she is a genius, one of a kind in 1,000 years, who has the talent to become the greatest Tsurugi Master of all time. But she is still only level 1.

Along with this concept, we began by compiling materials on what kind of character TSURU-chan (temporary) would be. For us, we asked KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU to design the character with as much freedom as possible, so while we told him what was important for the game, we did not ask him to draw a specific picture.

This is how many ideas for the TSURU-chan (temporary) ... were born from KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU. Some of the elements remain in the current TSURU-chan (temporary), but the impression is completely different! All of them have their own charms and are cute, and if we had my way, we would make use of all of them ..., but only one of them can be adopted as the main character. We narrowed it down to one proposal from various angles, including the sense of heroism, balance with the other characters, and whether it met the requirements of the game.




After narrowing it down, the result is this rough sketch! As you can see from a comparison with the current TSURU-chan (temporary) introduced in Developer's Note #1, there are still many differences in details, but the general direction of the project has been finalized.

(I don't wear clothes anymore because it gets hot and my clothes are caked on. ...?)

Hi, this is the development team of 213°F.

TSURUGIHIME, an RPG that "crafts" fate.

In this Developer's Note, we will be regularly posting the latest development news and other information through STEAM News.

TSURUGIHIME, scheduled for release in 2024, is still in the early stages of development. We will be sharing information with you as we create the game, and we hope that you will enjoy the live experience of its development as well.

Well, the first thing I want to introduce to you all in these Developer's Note is the main character of TSURUGIHIME! She is..., but she does not have a name yet. It will be some time before we have an official name for it, but since it will appear frequently in the future, we would like to introduce it to you under a temporary name at this stage.

The temporary name is "TSURU-chan (temporary)"! (The name is taken from "TSURU" in "TSURUGIHIME".)

As this is the first installment of the Developer's Note, we would like to introduce an illustration of TSURU-chan (temporary) designed by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU!



TSURU-chan, however, gradually damages its clothing due to damage incurred during the battle.
In this action-packed game, the emphasis is on players being able to intuitively understand their own HP status (i.e., whether or not they are at high risk of dying) just by looking at the main character. It's important that you play well and avoid damaging clothing as much as possible when you play!

One of the hooks of TSURUGIHIME is that you can enjoy the various appearances of the characters designed by KUROBOSHI KOUHAKU. Of course, this is not yet the only image of TSURU-chan (temporarily) that will be depicted in the game. We will continue with the rest of the story in the next issue, so be sure to follow along and wait for it!
