[p]Hello everyone![/p][p]We just released a small update for Damned 2, focused on wrapping up the Christmas event, improving visuals, and fixing some important technical issues reported by the community.

  • [p]Removed all normal gifts from all maps[/p]
  • [p]Removed most Christmas decorations[/p]
[p]Visuals[/p]
  • [p]New walk and idle animations for Mary in haunt mode[/p]
  • [p]New fog effect added to all maps[/p]
  • [p]New fog effect added to altars[/p]
  • [p]Graphics scalability on Low and Medium has been improved significantly. The game should now look much better on these settings, with a small impact on performance[/p]
  • [p]This new fog system is the foundation for upcoming features. Soon, both survivors and the monster will be able to interact with the fog, leaving trails as they move through the environment

  • [p]Fixed Blight camera colliding with an invisible altar[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Alba’s Motel spawning two unique gifts[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Windowed and Borderless mode resolutions. This should help players who were seeing unsupported resolutions listed in the settings[/p]
  • [p]Fixed plastic curtain playing sound from too far away[/p]

Damned 2 – Development Update

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]We hope you all had a good end of the year and managed to get some rest during the holidays. We’re back from the break and continuing work on Damned 2.[/p][p]What’s next[/p][p]Our current focus will be:[/p]
  • [p]A gameplay rework for Blight, improving balance and overall feel.[/p]
  • [p]Bringing Fallen, a classic monster from the original game, back to Damned 2. We’re putting extra care into her return.[/p]
[p]Christmas Event[/p][p]The Christmas event will remain active until February 2, so there’s still time to unlock the Christmas Lantern.[/p][p]After the event ends:[/p]
  • [p]All regular gifts will be removed from all maps.[/p]
  • [p]Some unlockables will no longer be obtainable:[/p]

Damned 2 – Christmas Update

[h2]The Christmas Update is now live in Damned 2.[/h2][p][/p][p][/p][p]This update focuses on two main goals. First, a complete rework of Mary, shifting her gameplay away from invisibility and toward constant pressure, unpredictability, and map control. Second, the start of the Christmas Event, bringing limited-time rewards and new objectives across all maps.[/p][p][/p][h2]Christmas Event[/h2][p]The Christmas Event is available for a limited time and is designed to encourage exploration and interaction across the maps.[/p]
  • [p]Added 3 new flashlight skins and 1 animated banner to unlock.[/p]
  • [p]Gifts have been added to all maps.[/p]
  • [p]Each map contains one unique special gift required to complete the event tasks.[/p]
  • [p]Gifts can be seen by both survivors and the monster.[/p]

Instead of relying on invisibility, she now focuses on presence, pressure, and unpredictability throughout the match.[/p][p][/p][h3]Core Changes[/h3][p]These changes redefine how Mary moves through the map and manages her resources.[/p]
  • [p]Removed Mary’s invisible form.[/p]
  • [p]Mary can now possess objects and use dolls while in Haunt form.[/p]
  • [p]Mary loses Haunt energy at the same rate she gains berserk energy.[/p]
  • [p]When Haunt energy reaches zero, Mary randomly teleports every 50 seconds, then refills her energy.[/p]
  • [p]Random teleport does not select the current room, elevators, or survivors’ starting rooms.[/p]
[h3]Abilities[/h3][p]Mary’s abilities were adjusted to reward positioning, timing, and decision-making rather than constant aggression.[/p][p]Mind Trace[/p]
  • [p]Cooldown reduced from 90 to 45 seconds.[/p]
  • [p]Teleports Mary to a random room when no survivors are inside a Cursed Doll’s vision.[/p]
  • [p]Can be used while on cooldown by consuming berserk energy.[/p]
[p]Mind Reach[/p]
  • [p]Pull cooldown increased from 4 to 6 seconds.[/p]
[p]Blink[/p]
  • [p]Cooldown increased from 4 to 18 seconds.[/p]
  • [p]Mary can now phase through locked doors while visible.[/p]
  • [p]Added a new visual effect when phasing through doors.[/p]
[p]Cursed Dolls[/p]
  • [p]Drop distance increased from 300 to 400.[/p]
[h3]Additional Changes[/h3][p]To reinforce her identity as a map-controlling threat, Mary also received the following adjustments.[/p]
  • [p]Mary can now interact with doors from afar using her mind.[/p]
  • [p]Berserk energy gain over time while haunting has been reduced by 60%.[/p][p][/p]
[h2]Simplified Mary[/h2][p]The simplified version of Mary was adjusted to better communicate her core mechanics while remaining accessible.[/p]
  • [p]Gains more berserk energy when close to survivors.[/p]
  • [p]Gains less berserk energy when extremely close to survivors.[/p]
  • [p]Passive berserk energy gain increased from 180 to 220.[/p]
  • [p]No longer slides while berserk.[/p]
  • [p]Can use Mind Trace.[/p]
[p][/p][h2]Simplified Lurker[/h2][p]Lurker’s simplified version was tuned to feel more aggressive and consistent during hunts.[/p]
  • [p]Invisible movement speed increased from 660 to 700.[/p]
  • [p]Hunt duration increased to 40 seconds.[/p]
  • [p]Time to reach full energy reduced from 145 to 120.[/p]
  • [p]Energy loss when transforming increased from 6 to 10.[/p]
[p][/p][h2]General Balance[/h2][p]Several systemic changes were made to improve consistency, readability, and player control during encounters.[/p]
  • [p]Added a new game option: No Door Knockback.[/p]
    • [p]Survivors are no longer pushed when monsters force doors open.[/p]
  • [p]Monsters now move doors with the same strength as survivors at Normal Strength.[/p]
  • [p]At Strong Strength, monsters move doors faster.[/p]
  • [p]Monster AI difficulty no longer affects door-moving speed.[/p]
  • [p]Monster AI can now see flashlight light through glass.[/p]
[p][/p][h2]AI Improvements[/h2][p]AI behavior was adjusted to better reflect player expectations and improve overall fairness.[/p]
  • [p]Door push strength now scales with monster strength, only being slower at Faint strength.[/p]
  • [p]Monster AI can now hear objects being hit or broken.[/p]
[h2]UI[/h2][p]A small quality-of-life improvement was added to communication.[/p]
  • [p]Added a button to switch teams directly in the in-game chat.[/p]
[h2]Fixes[/h2][p]This update also includes multiple fixes and consistency improvements across the game.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed monsters being unable to interact with some lids.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed physics objects highlighting while being held.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed Blight jumping through walls.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed incorrect key display in Game Help on Low.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed monster AI attacking after the match ended.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed heart becoming invisible for the monster when returning from invisibility.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed minor tutorial issues.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed collision problems.[/p]
  • [p]Improved consistency of the number of objects that can be possessed by the monster.[/p]

We are currently working on a full rework of Blight, while also bringing back Fallen, a monster originally introduced in Damned 1, redesigned and reimagined to fit Damned 2’s gameplay and systems.
