Mod of the Season
Ahoy!
In February, we added mod support and launched a program to support the best authors.
The winner of the first season - PerksReworked mod by mega-talented Pvt. Joker!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3439902769

An amazing work where the author not only added new perks but also organically integrated them into the game, preserving the style of the original. It looks as if it was always part of the game, and I know many people who no longer play without this mod.

Besides PerksReworked, Private Joker has created several other awesome works, some of which I'm even considering adding to the project. You can find them here.

BlackMark Studio sincerely congratulates the winner, promises not to ban him anymore (at least in the relatively near future), and awards $1000 of well-deserved loot. ːbootyː

We'd also like to mention Winarik, Sem, TemplarFulga, Gregg, and Alex Rendel for their works that greatly enlivened this season and enriched our Steam Workshop. Thank you, guys.

What's next? The second season opens! The rules are the same: the author of the most popular mod on Steam Workshop from April 20 to August 20 will receive fame, honor, and $1000. Only the original author who uploaded the mod to the platform can become the winner.
Good luck!
What's up with 1.5?
The team is in total crunch, but we'll finish the open beta by the end of May. A new game will definitely be required, but you can continue your playthrough on 1.4 by rolling back the version at any time.
We've significantly revised our plans and postponed much of what was planned, but it's worth it. The main stars of patch 1.5 will be naval battles and the global map, and our task is to bring back a sense of novelty and exploration to these most important layers of the game. In many ways, you'll have to rediscover the game.

The team currently has so much work that this month we definitely won't manage developer diaries or "Game Designer's Notes," but we can't help sharing some good stuff.

Of course, everything below is not final and will be changed and refined.

Suddenly, one of our developer's apartments turned into a mocap studio. Don't ask what's happening here. You'll see it in the gameːrofl_pirateː

And... that's all for today.
If you like what we're doing and want the intensity to continue with each update getting bigger and better, then support the game - leave reviews ːsteamthumbsupː as blue as the Caribbean Sea.

And we're going back to work. After all, we're now not just a developer but also a publisher.

 3. Fixed the boarding deck of the tartane.
 4. Text corrections.
 5. Minor changes to treasure contents.
Please pay attention to the second point: sure, we have fixed this crash, but install mods at your own risk in the future.

Right after patch 1.4 was released, there was another hotfix - I forgot to list its changes.

 1. Fixed the "Lady Beth" route on the global map.
 2. Optimized Basse-Terre.
 3. Added new, higher quality sounds for walking, swimming, and jumping.

If you want to play with the old controls or continue your playthrough as Helen, you can always switch to version 1.3.5. As we stated before, any major patches will always remain available specifically for such cases and for the functionality of popular mods.
