A batch of fixes has been implemented over the past week, consolidating numerous smaller patches. We're confident that we've addressed all major blockers up to this point, allowing us to fully focus on Patch 1.1 moving forward.

The first major patch will be released soon and will include a ton of stuff: alongside fixes, quest and balance adjustments, and some of the content we promised during the pre-release stage, it will introduce entirely new content that hasn't been revealed anywhere previously.

In addition, on March 15th the will be the first post-release dev diary in which I will provide a sales summary, share some insights and present the first draft of Caribbean Legend's update roadmap.

What's New:
  • Corrected the appearance of Pouncey's tailor in the English version.
  • Fixed Rodgar's dialogue allowing the option to leave the crew in the English version.
  • Cromwell's squadron now appears a year after the player reads the dispatch for the first time, instead of a month.
  • The arrival date in the dispatch has been corrected.
  • Fixed a bug causing the ship exchange menu to close unexpectedly while on land.
  • Stealth skill no longer levels up in hostile colonies if the chance of deception is above 60%.
  • The quest "On Pair with Shark" is now properly archived.
  • Resolved a crash occurring due to a large number of ships stationed on Isla Mona.
  • Fixed an issue where an empty item was received as a reward after sacking a colony from the sea.
  • Addressed the disappearance of doubloons from Gaspar the Gold Tooth.
  • Enemy pirates and gentlemen of fortune now spawn 50% less frequently on the global map.
  • Fixed Mary's behavior after completing the "Rumba" quest.
  • Revised timers for the "The Last Lesson" questline.
  • Reduced the difficulty of the "The Last Lesson" questline.
  • Increased the chance of obtaining admiral quality maps from quest ships.
  • Fixed crashes caused by broken masts on an East Indian.
  • Quadruple-barreled rifle now spawns correctly.
  • Added "Monster" (a gun) to treasure and quest rewards.
  • Persian Axe has been added to quest rewards.
  • Reworked timers for the "Dutch Gambit" quest in exploration mode.
  • Fixed the initiation of the "Happily Ever After" quest.
  • Resolved an issue where a pirate would not appear in Le Francois during the "Long Way to the Gallows" quest.

What's new:

  • Fixed Isla Mona crew storage limit.
  • Cupid balm now lasts for 90 days.
  • Implemented stealth checks when confronted by guards, even without raising a neutral/friendly flag on the ship - this is a rather significant feature that forgot to include in the release version.
  • Corrected the representation of 36-pounder coulevrines in the GUI, displaying their actual caliber instead of gunport size.
  • Made numerous fixes to The Caleuche, including the ship and the associated quest.
  • Increased loading speed, so say goodbye to reading loading screen tips.
  • Continued to refine and improve the English translation with further fixes and enhancements.

Status Update, Languages Support

ːjollyrː Patch 1.1 is currently in progress and slated for release on March 15th. Alongside various adjustments, it will incorporate many of the features we initially promised but couldn't implement in time for the initial release.

ːjollyrː On March 15th, we will also provide an overview of the first month's results, unveil the roadmap for upcoming updates, and outline the future plans for the game and the series.

ːjollyrː Our main priority now is to fix bugs and blockers. Things are going really well so far and it looks like we will be able to take care of the most of tech issues in the next three weeks. Additionally, we are working on fixing the English translation, which has been ready for a while, but integrating it into the code is a manual labor and it is taking some time.

ːjollyrː We've hired several full-time employees to take care of 3D, 2D and animations. Finally we are getting somewhere.

ːjollyrː Steam Cards are ready and have been sent to Valve for approval.

ːjollyrː We are currently working on three more localizations: Spanish, German, and Ukrainian. Actually, it is not "we" as developers, but rather a heroic community effort.

The Spanish localization is the most extensive at the moment, thanks to Jtem and Escorpion. You can tag them in our Discord if you wish to participate.

The German translation is being handled by Skinny - you can leave comments on his mod if you're interested in contributing.

As for the Ukrainian translation, it's being undertaken by utconoss, the founder of BlackMark Studio, therefore ensuring high-quality results.

If you're keen on seeing your own language supported, consider creating a mod similar to Skinny's on our Steam Workshop - we'll reach out to you and offer any assistance possible.

We have pushed two patches in the past few days, here is the combined changelog:

  • Fixed hull restoration.
  • Corrected special events in Cartagena during "The Pirate Saga" questline.
  • Rectified the restoration of the ghost ship in the English version.
  • The "Generous" achievement now functions properly.
  • Aruba now appears in his demonic form during the first encounter.
  • Added a useful item at the beginning of the "Vile Little God" quest.
  • Addressed various issues in the "Vile Little God" quest.
  • Fixed an exploit involving the submission of quest ships to Aruba.
  • Corrected Fadey's assistance in obtaining a weapon crate and slaves after completing the quest "Hot Sun of Maracaibo".
  • Fixed the equipping of a musket in the pistol slot for the quest "Night Adventurer".
  • Ensured one of the muskets properly appears in treasure chests and is available for purchase at the gunsmith's.
  • Rectified the "Hogar, dulce hogar" achievement.
  • Added a useful item to dungeons for the "Nemesis" quest.
  • Resolved a crash occurring in Barbazone's cabin.
  • Addressed typos and made corrections in English localization.
  • Fixed the "Sickly" achievement.
  • Resolved the issue of doubling doubloons in the English version for the quest "Caribbean in a Nutshell".
  • Fixed Alexus taking resources one at a time for a ship upgrade.
  • Adjusted the price of Adder Stone to 100 pesos.
  • Made several fixes to Isla Mona.
  • Reduced fort strength requirements for bonus siege trophies.
  • Ensured high caliber cannons always appear as loot after fort sieges.
  • Restricted the placement of full fort culverins of larger calibers to 42 caliber ports only.
  • Provided translation of ship logs and documents for the Isla Moni quest.
  • Made several location fixes for Willemstad.
  • Fixed rank restriction for the Harbor Master.
  • Added a beggar portrait for the "Rumba" quest.
  • Reduced two quest timers for the exploration mode.
