Elder Scrolls 6 isn't here, paint happy accidents in Morrowind instead

Morrowind is one of those RPG games that has an eternal imprint on my heart. After watching my dad play it for hours and then playing myself and becoming lost in its ethereal setting, I would happily say Morrowind is my favorite entry in Bethesda's iconic series. While The Elder Scrolls 6 may come along and change that, for now, I will continue traversing Vvardenfell. Not only can I do that, but I can also do a bit of role-playing as Bob Ross between Silt Strider joyrides thanks to this new painting mod.

It's a constant battle, trying to decide which is the greatest Elder Scrolls game. I love Skyrim, with its snow-capped mountains, chunky, clunky sword-and-shield physics, and of course, the dragon-slaying, but the grimy world of Morrowind is perhaps the most captivating, and Oblivion, surely, has the best story. Even then, if we're charting the history of RPG games, we have to pay respect to Elder Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall, and there's also the much-improved multiplayer hit ESO. If only there were some kind of huge Steam sale, giving us all these Bethesda hits at a bargain price.

Morrowind remake, built in Skyrim, gets huge new gameplay trailer

Elder Scrolls Morrowind, the iconic Bethesda RPG game from all the way back in 2002, is being rebuilt from the ground up by a team of Skyrim modders, and the hugely ambitious project has just released a big new gameplay trailer. Showcasing one of Morrowind's most memorable quests, 'Necromancer in Mawia,' the Skywind project forms part of a larger effort lately to recreate past Elder Scrolls hits, with Skyblivion, a separate game, which uses the Skyrim engine to remake Oblivion also in the works.
