Patch 1.4.9f - Improved Crampons Detection

[h3]Crampons Update[/h3]
  • Crampons Jump detection has been significantly improved. Should feel a lot easier to perform generally.

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Fixed a visual issue with artefact cleaning.
  • Fixed some bugs related to equipping/unequipping ice axes and rope anchoring.
  • Fixed a bug with the scoreboard having weird positions when setting a new time.
  • Fixed a bug with crampons jump limit not resetting when climbing with ice axes.
  • Adjusted the visuals slightly on the wind zones on Solemn Tempest.

  • Fixed a few bugs with being unable to use tools after using the Bivouac.

1.4.9a Patch Notes - Crampon Jump Updates & Reach Forces

Hey everyone. There's a few changes and updates to crampons and climbing forces in general, so be sure to check them out below.

[h3]Crampon Jump Updates[/h3]
  • After 2 consecutive wall jumps, the force of your wall jumps will be significantly worse and will make a noise to signify it failed.
  • Crampons cooldown has been lowered to 1 second from 1.3 seconds.
  • A second wall-jump with the crampons gives slightly more force if your momentum and timing is good.
  • Wall-jumping with crampons will reset the reach-spam mechanic, giving you a few more reaches to readjust your momentum before the effects become detrimental.

[h3]Reach Force Updates[/h3]
To get rid of unnecessary reach-spamming, there's been a change to discourage spamming and encourage better timing. In short, spamming has detrimental effects while better reach-timing rewards you with greater force.

  • Hand-spam has been very slightly nerfed. The more you spam reaching, the more detrimental the effects of the force added will be.
  • Better timing with reaches will be rewarded with more force than spamming would provide.
  • The first couple of reaches will give the most force.
  • A successful wall jump will reset the hand-spam counter (which limits the overall force applied the more you spam), allowing you to readjust your momentum.

[h3]Peak Updates[/h3]
  • Sundered sons have been modified.
  • Latter parts of Solemn Tempest have been modified.
  • Added a boundary to Cromlech's summit.

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Fixed a bug with the monocular being 'permanently' disabled if you quit out while using it.
  • Fixed a bug with Free Solo Summits not being reset in You Fall You Die and Free Solo modes.
  • Fixed a bug with a hold tripling the "holds made" during time attack.
  • Fixed a few floating rocks on Cromlech.

[h3]1.4.9a Minor Update[/h3]
  • Added version numbers to the in-game menus.
  • Fixed a visual issue with the pipe in the cabin.
  • Fixed an issue with windzones on Solemn Tempest.

Patch 1.4.8a - Free Solo Stamps and Other Updates

Hey youse.
This update adds some new stamps to the Advanced and Expert Categories as a means to track your Free Solo summit progress. There are also some visual updates to some of the maps as well as some crampon QOL updates and bugfixes, so be sure to check them out below.

[h3]Update to Free Solo Summits[/h3]
  • Added 'Free Solo' stamps to the Advanced and Expert peak journals. Once you perform a free solo summit, the stamp will look different than the usual summit stamps, indicating your free solo progress.
  • Getting a '0 ropes used' score from Time Attack will not count towards a Free Solo Summit as ropes can be anchored/removed during a run. Your progress is towards Free Solo achievements for Advanced and Expert are reflected in the Free Solo stamps.

[h3]Visual Updates[/h3]
  • Ymir's Shadow is now visible from the summit of Gray Gully, Aldr Grotto, Wuthering Crest, and Cromlech.
  • Great Gaol is now visible from Old Langr.
  • Walker's Pillar is now visible from Aldr Grotto.

[h3]Crampon Updates[/h3]
  • Crampons should attach a little more consistently now.
  • Added UI to reflect when you are able to attach crampons.
  • Detach UI will now fade out after 2 seconds.

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue with some parts of Solemn Tempest where you coulden't use crampons.
  • Fixed a bug with the Barometer showing up late after receiving the Artefact Map.
  • Fixed a bug with not being able to pick chalk with the hotkey after falling to your death in You Fall You Die.
  • Fixed a bug with time attack where you could increment holds before starting a time.
  • Fixed the compass needle rotating incorrectly.

  • Fixed a rare bug on Solemn Tempest that had a very small chance of happening every 500 meters, causing extreme teleportation when you grabbed onto a hold.

[h3]Minor Changes[/h3]
  • Added grade names to the time attack scoreboards on Category 4 if they have been summited.
  • Halting your fall by climbing your rope as you fall (before hitting the ground) will no longer trigger death.
  • Adjusted some sound effect volumes on the pocket watch.

  • Fixed a bug with chalk decreasing incorrectly and time attack holds incrementing multiple times per hold.
  • Fixed time attack not properly starting sometimes until you grabbed a hold.
  • Fixed a bug with Porter still showing up at Aldr Grotto and Cromlech.
  • Fixed a bug where you could pull out the pocket watch while climbing.
  • Fixed a bug where using chalk when landing from a heavy fall would put your head on the ground.
  • Fixed a bug with the smoking pipe doing rotation twirls when looking up and down.

Patch 1.4.6d - Ultra Widescreen Support

Hey everyone. This update brings support ultrawide monitors as well as a host of updates and bugfixes. Be sure to check them out below.

[h3]Major Updates[/h3]
  • Added Ultra Widescreen (21:9) support.
  • Added options for 1440p if you natively run 4k.

[h3]Updates[/h3]
  • Improved hold detection. Should be less prone to "rubber around" holds.
  • Added an option for toggling HUD (affects time-attack and tool quantity tooltips).
  • You'll no longer need to hold forward to keep being secured on a wall with Crampons.
    To release after securing on a wall: hold any movement other movement key than forward.
  • Chalk and Coffee will now replenish if you return to the starting area of a peak.
  • The Barometer will now reflect air pressure being lowered in windzones.
  • Made coffee drinking slightly faster. Duration of 'coffee high' is the same (7 seconds).
  • Added a cosmetic reward for completing Free Solo Mode (check out your ice axes).

  • Fixed an issue on Sundered Sons where you could skip the route.
  • Fixed a bug allowing you to use multiple tools at once while grounded.
  • Fixed a bug where holds made during a timed run would set a 'worse' score if holds made was 0.
  • Fixed a hole on Solemn Tempest allowing a glitched launch.
  • Fixed a bug on Solemn Tempest causing windzones not to start.
  • Fixed a bug where you could attach to a rope while falling in water.
  • Fixed a bug where you could get a better time attack score by pausing the game.
  • Fixed Toggle Climb not working on Ice Axes.
