Fallout: New Vegas News

Yesterday was Fallout Day, the date in the series' universe when the bombs dropped and permanently turned a lot of people into those skeletons you grind into dust while tramping about in your power armour. Bethesda awakened Todd Howard from cryo-sleep, and announced some stuff in a broadcast. Fallout 4 and New Vegas are being sold to people again. Also, in admittedly more exciting news, Fallout 76's Burning Springs update got a proper release date.

The upcoming second series of Prime Video's Fallout TV Show was also there, with that and the 76 update set to make December very Walton Gogginsy.

Fallout fans have been staging an annual community get-together in the real-life town of Goodsprings for a few years now, with help from the owner of the Pioneer Saloon, as a celebration of Fallout: New Vegas day. 2024's edition looks to have been a good time, with lots of cosplayers having made their way out to Nevada, so they can roleplay as anything from an NCR ranger to Todd Howard.

Nevermind being the best Fallout game of all time - Fallout New Vegas is one of the greatest PC games ever. Funny, open, unique, and endlessly replayable, it's also tightly written, has some of the series' best quests, and boasts a visual style you can recognize from a mile away, even 14 years later. Combine that with Frostpunk, the brutal, survivalistic strategy game, shortly due a sequel courtesy of Frostpunk 2, and Dusk, the loving boomer shooter homage that evokes the spirit of Doom and Half-Life, and you've got some of the best games of the last two decades. There's more on offer - you can pick whatever you like - but whatever you choose, this new $3 Fanatical bundle is definitely worth your time.
