Important Announcement regarding UNBEATABLE

[p][/p][p]Hi! UNBEATABLE was supposed to come out tomorrow!

That’s a scary sentence. Here’s a worse one: UNBEATABLE will now release on December 9. [/p][p]I hate that I have to say this. There’s no way to apologize for it that feels like enough. I’m personally sorry about this and I wish it was different.[/p][p][/p][p]WHY WOULD YOU ONLY TELL ME NOW?
[/p][p]Because the decision was only made a few hours ago. (No, really, I’m writing this right after the meeting where the decision was made).  We are telling you this as soon as we possibly can.

BUT WHY? THE GAME’S DONE, RIGHT?

There’s a very boring and frustrating reason; QA hit a low-repro progression blocker last night that’s serious enough it’s considered unreleasable. Fixing this would require pushing the console release date back because of cert timelines, and not fixing this is, well. We refuse to do that. We’re fixing it. [/p][p][/p][p]BUT WHY NOT JUST DELAY THE RELEASE OF THE CONSOLE PORT?

That’s very messy! We’d rather release the game all at once for everybody.[/p][p][/p][p]BUT WHY RELEASE ON DECEMBER 9? THAT’S A WHOLE MONTH AWAY[/p][p][/p][p]Another boring reason you can figure out pretty quickly by googling the phrase “2025 game release calendar” and looking at what’s hitting this month. We had a pretty good spot on November 6 where we made a small little island for ourselves, and skipping that date necessarily means skipping forward a lot to find another island, and that’s the closest one we had. On the plus side, it gives us breathing room we didn’t have before to do some pre-launch things we wanted to do that had to get pushed back because of finishing the game in time for, well, tomorrow.

…BUT IS THE GAME GOOD?[/p][p]It’s very good, and I’m very biased. We’ll see what reviewers think. But for those of you waiting the longest for this thing to come out, it makes me feel a bit crazy knowing how much you still don’t know about what’s this thing is. I’m very excited about it. I wish it could have been tomorrow, but.

7 Days until UNBEATABLE

[p]We’re just one week away from the end of seven years.[/p][p][/p][p]Seven years ago, UNBEATABLE was barely an idea a couple of people talked about on the internet together. That became a game thanks to the work of a 30-odd group of programmers, musicians, sound designers, game designers, animators, 3D artists, concept artists, and producers holding it all together, and it comes out in 7 days. We've got a lot to share today as we start to prepare for that moment, so let's get right to it.[/p][p][/p]
HOW MUCH DOES UNBEATABLE COST?
[p]okay so please be patient and don’t just scroll to the bottom to find out because there’s a lot more here than that[/p][p][/p][h3]A GENTLE REMINDER FOR THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON[/h3][p][/p][p][/p][p]UNBEATABLE is a NARRATIVE RHYTHM ADVENTURE GAME with a full 6–8 hour campaign, with a beginning, middle, and end. You might like it![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Of course, UNBEATABLE is also a RHYTHM ARCADE GAME with endless replayability and an original base game tracklist consisting of over 60 playable songs exclusively made for the game all at launch.[/p][p]But if that’s not enough for you…[/p][p][/p][h2]You're GREEDY.[/h2][p][/p][h2]And you'll want to check out our newly revealed VARIETY FOLDER![/h2][p]At launch, you'll be able to play 12 songs from other artists and games, in addition to the in-house soundtrack you were already getting:[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Introducing three whole new collaborations with RIFT OF THE NECRODANCER, Spin Rhythm XD, and ROTAENO, and updated collaborations with both NOISZ STARLIVHT and NO STARIGHT ROADS. [p]Together, the final base track list included in-game is 76 playable songs, and that will only increase after launch with both new collaborations and original songs in addition to paid DLC.[/p][p][/p]

[p]I know how you feel about day-one DLC, Gamers. I Understand. But we want to be explicitly clear about what’s going on here. This isn’t “we cut stuff out of the game and told you to pay for it as if it was an extra.” These new songs do not exist without the DLC budget funding its creation, and we jumped at the opportunity to put this together once we realized we could do that.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Future DLCs will be looking to go even further than just song adds (expect extra characters, stages, and challenges!) but to do that we need to not be all-hands-on-deck on the actual game itself, which…we are…because it comes out in a week[/p][p][/p][h3]ALL OF THE SONGS INCLUDED IN THE DLC[/h3]

I know at least a full third of you are immediately going back and frame-by-framing through that, but before you leave, I will kindly ask you let me reiterate: UNBEATABLE releases on November 6th, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X (and S).* [/p][p][/p][p]That’s only one year  and eleven months after the release timing we put on our kickstarter four and a half years ago! That’s only, like, what, two and a half baby’s worth? (And let me tell you: this game is not half a baby.**)[/p][p][/p][p]Let me tell you some things about this game.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][h3]UNBEATABLE IS THE NAME OF A NARRATIVE GAME THAT WILL LAST 6-8 HOURS***

[/h3][p]There’s far more to it than the demo has shown off (hello, my name is Mister Obvious. i wrote this sentence); the mysterious challenge board will finally not be so mysterious, there’ll be a combination of online leaderboards, cosmetic unlocks(!?), and the “””””STAR Rating”””””” system**** which we will explain more about in the future. We’re targeting a launch with 65+ playable songs (most of which we made ourselves!) and that will only grow over time. Almost all of them will be playable at every difficulty level from the beginning. :) [/p][p]

[/p][h3]UNBEATABLE IS AT GAMESCOM[/h3][p]
[/p][p]If you are also here in Germany for Gamescom proper, you’ll be able to play the demo with two new songs rotating in - LONER(some of you just had a little ! appear over your head), and something literally called PROPER RHYTHM BPM 271 MEMODEMO SWAG BOOTLEG. It’s by MEMODEMO, and it sounds exactly like what’s in your head when you read that just now.[/p][p]
Okay we lied you can expect this same update to hit the PC/PS5 demo today too, you do not need to be at the event. But the booth is very cool and it has this in it: [/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][p]It also will sometimes have some of the team in it! RJ, Andrew (the directors), Rachel, and Jeff (the producers) are all there in person. The booth will also have free goodies (hooray!). For most of us, it’s our first time in The Europe, and that’s Spooky. [/p][p]
[/p][h3]UNBEATABLE IS GETTING LOCALIZED…[/h3][p]
[/p][p]…to Simplified Chinese at launch. We still plan on adding other languages but they will be following after. This is to ensure we have as much time as possible to have the chance to QA the new language, which is a thing you need to do because the last thing you should do when translating a game is just throw it in and cross your fingers. This should make it possible for the two to be in a quality that meets our standards. We hear a lot of you that you want UNBEATABLE in your language - but with a script this big, it’ll always be a tough effort to localize this game.[/p][p]
