About finishing NG+

Hey, everyone,

I'm a little puzzled about this one. Originally, it was supposed to exist an achievement for completing NG+, but i've removed it just before release.
Now, seeing how many people are actually playing a second (or more) run on NG+, i'm wondering if the effort should be rewarded with a specific achievement.

What do you think?

Recoverable items fine tuning

Hey!

Just fine tuned a little the recoverable items probabilities: speaking of weapons, before you were able to recover a ranged one OR a melee one. Now you could recover both, with a higher probability for the melee one.
Also, reduced the probability to get swarmed by too many big enemies in a couple of levels.

Recoverable Stats

Hey, everyone!

Thanks for all the feedback as usual. This update brings upgraded stats as recoverable items from the volunteer dead body.
This should create a better feeling of progression and makes difficulty, while still challenging, less harsh.
You'll be able to recover up to 3 of your previously upgraded stats (if you had less, you'll find all of them).
I've changed/fixed a few other things, this is the full change log:

  • Upgraded stats recoverable from dead volunteer body
  • Critical chance stat now gives a 3% boost, while slightly less common to find (was 1%)
  • The bug that sometimes was causing the doors in the reactor room of the Aerospace Center to stay closed should be fixed
  • A new Upgrade Station in The Woods (now there are 2, previously was 1)
  • You'll always find at least one medikit and some ammo in the Upgrade Stations
  • Looping sfx while leaving a stationary turret or depleting a machine gun drone is fixed

Let me know of the new update feels!

Update: respawn after death and fairness

Hey, everyone!

In this update i've tried to make less painfull (while still challenging) respawning after death.

While with the previous update i've increased the probability to recover equipment from the previous volunteer body, this time i've changed the spawn location of the body: they were spawning in the same room they died, but this means that, due to the layout diversification each time, could have been at the opposite side of the level (or straight in a boss room), that actually jeopardize the very purpose of recovering equipment.

Now you still have to explore and find the body, but it will be more closer to the initial rooms, rather than in some remote location.

Obviously, I'm trying to keep the game very challenging... just more fair :)

Other than that, these are the other changes:

  • The probability of finding equipment now scales with the difficulty level (higher on easy, lower on NIGHTMARE)
  • Easy difficulty is now a little easier (less damage taken, more damage given)
  • Nailguns are more powerful
  • Devices prices have been tweaked (a little less expensive)

Let me know how it goes!

Recoverable items and more

Hello, everyone!
This update brings some changes to the type and amount of items you can recover from a volunteer dead body. It used to be pretty much just credits (the probabilities of recovering something else were very low). Now it's more likely to recover ammo, medikit (or plates) and sometimes a weapon or a gadget.
The probability scales with levels, so you'll notice more starting from the third/fourth level.

The amount of ammo you spawn with has been also increased a little, always based on levels.
Also, it's more likely to spawn with a "better" weapon in mid-later levels.
I've swapped a Big Soulless (the charging enemy) with another enemy at the beginning of the 8th level, cause it was really out of place, especially if you had just respawned.

That's it for now!
