Button Pop: The next major update!

Module Evolution Update is coming very soon

Hey folks!
I hope you are enjoying Button Pop so far.

Button Pops first major update, the Module Evolution is right around the corner! It brings a rework of the module page system, 10 new modules, and a re-balance to the enemy's difficulty and experience regarding popping the button/ earning coins.

The update is currently in its final test stages and is planned to be released in the coming days :)

[h2]New stuff: [/h2]

[h3]Module Tree[/h3]
The module system/ pages will be completely rebuilt and presented as a module tree, Split into Defence, Utility, and Attack.
All modules will be visible on a single page, making it easier to strategize and mix/match abilities and builds.



[h3]New Module upgrades[/h3]
We can't have a new module tree without some new modules! There will be 9 new modules, spanning from upgrades that boost the efficiency of utilities, to the ability to grab the enemies and crush them before they get away.

Check out the full list below:
  • Grab - Grab and hold enemies by clicking on them! Fling them around like grenades.
  • Money Grab - If an enemy dies while grabbed, their money bag will fall out.
  • Grab Drain - While an enemy is grabbed, their health will slowly be drained.
  • Blocker - Place a solid block and change the route of the enemies!
  • Auto Pop - Button will continue to pop at the last Pop per sec rate. If the Button is left Idle for more than 10 seconds, this rate will slowly reduce.
  • PPM RPM - The fire rate of turrets is increased based on the current Pop Per sec.
  • Energy Surplus - When there is a surplus of energy, Coin factories are twice as efficient.
  • Share Care - Placing turrets near Energy Generators decreases the turret's energy use by 20%. Placing turrets near Coin factories increases the turret's coins per kill by 20%. This is indicated by a stroked line linking the turret and utility together.
  • Pop Per Kill - Every kill will Pop the Button (this will affect the pop streak).
  • Pop Per Hit - Every time an enemy takes any damage, the Button will be Popped (this will affect the pop streak).


[h3]Difficulty and balance[/h3]
Another thing this update will be addressing is the overall difficulty and balance of the early game. I will continue to monitor and tweak this area, however, I have taken on your feedback and introduced several fixes to ensure Button Pop is more enjoyable, for more players.
This will include decreasing the cost to build lower tier turrets/ utilises, lowering the XP required to level up (Button levels 1 -5) and reordering modules to promote automation at an earlier stage and much more!

I will have a full break down on these tweaks when the update has been released.

Hello there!
I'm releasing a small update for both the full game and demo fixing a number of bugs and adding a few requested QOL features.
Check out the patch notes below for a full breakdown :D

[h3]Fixed Bugs - [/h3]
  • Hats and Button related achievements issue - Fixed.
  • Main menu Ui elements getting stuck (Mission Rewards) - Fixed
  • Coin factory destroy Bug - Fixed
  • Difficulty window grammar - Fixed


[h3]New Features/ QOl features -[/h3]
  • You can now right-click to cancel the purchase and placement of defenses (Molotov's, walls, mines, etc). However, holding right click can still be used to move.
  • Skip Button added to the coin/ parts calculation screen.
  • A new puzzle has been added to the game, specifically in the arcade mission. Completing this puzzle will unlock the gamer headset.


[h3]Balance - [/h3]
  • Small tweak to the initial acceleration of button streaks.

Button Pop is out tomorrow! + Demo Update

Button Pop will launch tomorrow

Hey folks!
I am thrilled to say Button pop will be out tomorrow, 21 June 2024!
Check your clocks for the release in your local time zones:
6 PM GMT / 10 AM PDT/ 1 PM EDT



A small patch has also just been released to bring the Demo up to scratch with the features available in the full game, check out the notes below for more details!

[h3]Fixed Bugs - [/h3]
  • AI getting stuck - Fixed.
  • Difficulty select windows remaining on screen even after confirming selection - Fixed


[h3]New Features -[/h3]
  • Auto Popper Module.
  • Cursor Colour setting (accessibility).
  • New sections added to the tutorial, further explaining some the game mechanics.


[h3]Balance- [/h3]
  • Clicking on enemies now does damage by default and this can be upgrades via modules/ perks.
  • The hover area has been widened so it is easier to click on smaller enemies.
  • The start wave objective "Earn 500 coins" has been lowered to 300.
  • The overall time it takes for enemies to reach the combat zone has been reduced and bosses speed less time outside the combat zone after running away.
  • Coins earned from kills have been increased overall.
  • Small tweaks to the values required to unlock perk tiers.
  • The healthy button module has now been split into 3 modules, that are available over multiple module pages for further health upgrades.

Within the coming weeks, after launch, I'll be looking to further improve the overall game experience and content available. Your feedback will drive these developments and I very much appropriate your input! :)
  • The module pages will be overhauled, with a new design that will allow all modules to be visible on a single page.
  • New upgrades.
  • New game modes.

Button Pop Demo: Small Patch 1.06

Button Pop Demo Major Update

Hello there!
We recently released a few small updates for the Demo fixing a number of bugs and adding a few features.
Check out the patch notes below for a full breakdown :D

Button Pop Demo Patch 1.06

[h3]Fixed Bugs - [/h3]
  • Achievement earned at the wrong time - Fixed.
  • Options menus could get stuck / overlap each other - Fixed
  • Difficulty window, after completing a mission could get stuck on screen - Fixed.
  • FPS limit is now the correct order.
  • Hold click time for defence window has been increased.
  • Tutorial Coin factory soft lock - Fixed
  • Launching Steam VR - Fixed
  • Auto Drift set to off as default - Fixed


[h3]New Features -[/h3]
  • Hot-keys for Defences - 1 = Current Aggressive defence (Molotov, mines etc). 2 = Passive defence (Walls, Springboards etc).
  • Hot-keys for Abilities - 3 = Health Ability. 4 = Attack Ability. 5 = Utility Ability.
  • Mission select window will now remember your last played mission and will automatically open on the next available mission if the previous one has been completed. (This will be reset if the player goes back to a previous mission).
  • Option to switch Left mouse hold with Right Mouse hold (to open the defence window) has been added. Check the control options.
  • Control panel has been updated with hotkeys.
  • WASD can now be used for movement, as a secondary option.
  • A and D can be used to flick through some menus (Left to right).
  • Option to disable screen shake has been added.
  • Colour scheme has been tweaked (UI only).
  • UI Buttons will no longer "Wiggle" on there own and will now only wiggle when hovered.
  • HP bars for Turrets and Utilities can now be viewed by hovering over them.


[h3]Balance - [/h3]
  • Minis have been slightly scaled up and will get larger as they rank up.
  • Minis have been slightly slowed down overall.
  • The overall interact-able area under the cursors has been increased to make it easier to Pop the enemy units.
