Capcom assures that the Monster Hunter Wilds launch will improve on the beta

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta hasn't been going down well on PC. While it's attracted a colossal number of players, there are myriad reports of crashes, bugs, and graphical problems across the board. The full launch is still four months away, though, and Capcom is assuring us that we'll be playing a very different game come 2025. If you've been playing on PC, that might look like a pretty tall order. I wouldn't worry about your beta experience too much, though, because there are already a handful of fixes for all those PS1-looking faces.

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta drew almost half a million concurrent Steam players in the first hour




Last night, Capcom opened the gates to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta on Steam, letting PC players get a preview of the next installment in giant lizard slaying. There was no shortage of eager hunters waiting for their chance: According to SteamDB, just an hour after unlocking on PC, the Wilds beta already had over 460,000 concurrent players...

Monster Hunter Wilds beta performance is terrible but one setting offers hope

The Monster Hunter Wilds beta has just kicked off, allowing PC and Xbox users to try out the game. However, while there's plenty to be excited about with getting a chance to try the new title, effortlessly smooth performance isn't one of them, with users reporting regular crashes, frame rate drops, and generally poor performance.


While this is all a little alarming, it is still very early days with the Monster Hunter Wilds release date not until February next year. Plus, there's at least one setting that seems to be giving a lifeline for some users with certain of the best graphics cards.

Monster Hunter Wilds beta start and end times, how to gain access

When does the Monster Hunter Wilds beta end? Capcom has announced that the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta is on the way and includes a limited portion of the game for players to test. Feel free to spend a long time in the character creator when putting together the perfect main character and Palico, your progress carries over to the full game when it releases.


Ahead of the Monster Hunter Wilds release date, you can get hands-on with the RPG game for the first time. The beta includes a trial of the story and opening cutscene, taking you through the Chatacabra hunt to learn the basic tutorials, as well as trying out some of the weapons on offer. You'll also be able to take on the Doshaguma Hunt, one of the many Monster Hunter Wild monsters, and you can explore this area on your Seikret.
