You might want to cut down on the hacking, Monster Hunter Wilds cheaters, as Capcom warns it can make the game "unplayable"

Look, here's the thing. I'm no narc, but when it comes to online games, you probably shouldn't cheat. Do what you want in single-player games! But in the multiplayer space you're there to have a nice time with everybody, you know? And as it turns out in the case of Monster Hunter Wilds, things can end pretty badly for you (I promise this isn't a Mafia-style threat). The official Monster Hunter Twitter account shared a post yesterday announcing that Capcom have "confirmed the unauthorized modification of game data in Monster Hunter Wilds for High Rank environment Investigations, Field Surveys, and more."

Capcom says it has 'already taken and will continue to take action' to ban Monster Hunter Wilds cheaters as it begins a '1-to-2 week review' of the challenge quest leaderboard

Monster Hunter Wilds just finished up its first limited-time challenge quest, where hunters could compete on a worldwide leaderboard for the fastest clear time in a hunt against a Doshaguma to earn bragging rights and cosmetic rewards. Unsurprisingly, those leaderboards were quickly flooded with cheaters posting impossibly fast hunting times. Today Capcom said it's beginning a "review" of the leaderboard, so that it can "take action" against users who posted illegitimate times...

Our Action Against Cheaters

Hey hunters,

How's the hunting?

We're just popping by with an update on how we're addressing cheaters identified in our first Challenge Quest, "Doshaguma of the Hollow", full details below!

Our Action Against Cheaters

The Challenge Quest: “Doshaguma of the Hollow” has ended today.

The final ranking results for this quest will be confirmed during a 1-to-2-week review period from today. Event rewards will be distributed after any fraudulent clear times have been investigated and excluded.

Once the review is complete, we will announce it on our X accounts.

*In addition to judging based on clear times, we will also conduct our own investigations and take appropriate measures.

*When we exclude the fraudulent clear times, we will also place restrictions on those accounts.
The user’s clear time will not be registered in the rankings from that point, and they will not receive the event rewards.

In addition, we have already taken and will continue to take action to ban accounts that our reviews have found to be cheating.

Furthermore, if you are certain that a player is performing prohibited actions, please report them.
To report a player, navigate to their Hunter Profile screen and select Report.

See you in the hunt!
