Capcom says it has 'already taken and will continue to take action' to ban Monster Hunter Wilds cheaters as it begins a '1-to-2 week review' of the challenge quest leaderboard

Monster Hunter Wilds just finished up its first limited-time challenge quest, where hunters could compete on a worldwide leaderboard for the fastest clear time in a hunt against a Doshaguma to earn bragging rights and cosmetic rewards. Unsurprisingly, those leaderboards were quickly flooded with cheaters posting impossibly fast hunting times. Today Capcom said it's beginning a "review" of the leaderboard, so that it can "take action" against users who posted illegitimate times...

Our Action Against Cheaters

Hey hunters,

How's the hunting?

We're just popping by with an update on how we're addressing cheaters identified in our first Challenge Quest, "Doshaguma of the Hollow", full details below!

Our Action Against Cheaters

The Challenge Quest: “Doshaguma of the Hollow” has ended today.

The final ranking results for this quest will be confirmed during a 1-to-2-week review period from today. Event rewards will be distributed after any fraudulent clear times have been investigated and excluded.

Once the review is complete, we will announce it on our X accounts.

*In addition to judging based on clear times, we will also conduct our own investigations and take appropriate measures.

*When we exclude the fraudulent clear times, we will also place restrictions on those accounts.
The user’s clear time will not be registered in the rankings from that point, and they will not receive the event rewards.

In addition, we have already taken and will continue to take action to ban accounts that our reviews have found to be cheating.

Furthermore, if you are certain that a player is performing prohibited actions, please report them.
To report a player, navigate to their Hunter Profile screen and select Report.

(Note: Having duplicates of these items does not cause other bugs. Additionally, only one of each item can be put into your item pouch, so the effects cannot be stacked.)
  • Fixed an issue that caused crashes during Zoh Shia quests.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to bring their own equipment into Arena Quests and Challenge Quests.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to keep the effects of Palico support moves (Sporenet: Song o' Power and Sporenet: Song o' Purrtection) into Arena Quests and Challenge Quests.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to bring certain skill effects into the Training Area, Arena Quests, and Challenge Quests.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some Arena Quest and Challenge Quest completion times to register incorrectly in the rankings.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent the game from progressing in certain points if you had a Palico Bed set up at a camp.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash if you opened up a Hunter Profile while equipped with an insect glaive.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the game to crash when entering a lobby.
  • Fixed an issue where using a meal voucher in the Grand Hub of a private lobby would unintentionally give free meal permissions to other members.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the game to crash when booting the game while your character is wearing certain equipment.
  • Fixed an issue where player movement would become erratic during certain gestures.
  • Fixed an issue where the Mizutsune Assignment could not be reaccepted.
  • Fixed other miscellaneous issues.
