Building Blocks

In Permafrost, there are three building tiers used to construct different types of structures:

• Wood
  
• Scrap
  
• Quality Metal
  

The differences between these tiers primarily affect the durability of the structure and the amount of heat the player receives while inside.

Each tier is unlocked at different stages of the blueprint skill tree (the player starts with the Wooden set, which corresponds to Tier 1).



Wood is most commonly found in areas such as Horizon and Woods, while Scrap begins appearing more frequently in locations like House Camp or the Solar fields.

Quality Metal can be found in late-game regions, but it is far more commonly obtained by smelting Iron in a smelter to produce Quality Metal.

Every tier includes both a basic and an advanced version, allowing players to further expand their base with additional elements.
