Meet the Crew - Samantha Cooper

Dr. Samantha Cooper brings a rare combination of medical expertise and battlefield resilience to the Cassiopeia. A seasoned medic and a survivor, she is unwavering in her mission to protect life.

No matter the cost.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Dr. Samantha Cooper is a skilled medic who first learned her trade as part of the Marines’ medical evacuation team. Unfortunately her time in medevac ended abruptly following the infamous ‘Jessops Station’ tragedy, where Cooper was the sole survivor from her team.

After this, Cooper worked hard to overcome her trauma. Her oldest friend Zoe Anders helped her recover and later Cooper repaid the favour by recommending Anders as the replacement Science Officer for Corinth’s mission. Overall, Cooper has emerged from her trauma as a resilient person, focused on moving forward.

Her dedication to her craft and amiable nature are what make her the perfect choice for the Cassiopeia – she’s not just a doctor with a good bedside manner; she’s a fighter who will put everything on the line for the future of humanity.

“People everywhere have tough times, and now more people than ever before are facing something terrible. I want to bring them hope - we all need a little hope.”

Meet the Crew - Nolan Stafford

A veteran explorer and the first man on Mars, Commander Stafford now leads Corinth's mission with the same determination that defined his career. For him, this is more than a mission - it’s a legacy.

A legacy that is in your hands...

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Nolan Stafford, the first man on Mars, is a natural leader. As commander of the mission to Tau Ceti f, Stafford brings a respected authority, as well as a lifetime of discovery.

Stafford is the founding father of Corinth’s space programme. He has been instrumental in the success of many historic missions, but none more important than this. This mission marks his last before retirement, and he hopes to give it his all.

The ship’s pilot, Brianna Young, is the daughter of his closest friend and fellow astronaut, the late Bill Young. On their mission to Mars together Stafford promised Bill that he would watch out for Brianna at all costs.

Stafford has immense trust in his whole crew. He leads from the front and would never leave a crewmate behind!

“I’m proud and humbled to be leading the finest crew our planet has to offer… so that you can watch your children grow up, and their children for generations to come.”

Meet the Crew - Laura Eisele

Laura Eisele doesn’t just build systems - she builds futures. As Senior Mission Officer, her vision and technical mastery have shaped the Cassiopeia from blueprint to launch.

No one – or thing – knows the ship better.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Laura Eisele is the lead designer of the mission and architect of the Cassiopeia. From early in her career she’s been noticed and awarded for her work, with her peers describing her as ‘scientifically brilliant’. She holds herself and others to high standards because of this.

Whilst her understanding of machines and theorems is unparalleled, she finds communicating with her peers harder. From the outside she may appear cold and rational, but deep down she wishes to connect with others – even if it doesn’t come naturally.

Eisele joined this mission to push both herself and the future of humanity – testing the limits of what she’s capable of. Eisele has left her mark across the mission through her designs – including the ship’s computer, The Oracle. Always diligent, she’s prepared for every scenario… except actually touching down.

“I designed this mission with integrity and skill, and I hope the crew will treat it similarly. There's no room for an error. Ultimately if something goes wrong because of the design, that's on me. If we fail, it is because I have failed.”

Story Trailer and Release Date Reveal

Debuted at Sony’s State of Play showcase, this new trailer takes you deeper into the dangers onboard the spaceship Cassiopeia, teasing new characters, environments, potential death scenes and a deadly alien threat.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
“The team at Supermassive Games has worked tirelessly to craft a narrative experience that melds sci-fi exploration with spine-chilling horror, where every choice could lead to a disastrous death. Today we’re unveiling some new layers to our story, exploring fragile alliances, unseen threats, and the limits of human resilience when faced with our deepest fears. We’re venturing into uncharted territory: the unsettling abyss of space.” - Will Doyle, Creative Director at Supermassive Games.
Story
Earth is dying and humanity is running out of time. Twelve light years from home, Tau Ceti f offers a small sliver of hope. When the colony ship Cassiopeia crash lands on the planet, its crew soon realize they are far from being alone.

Hunted by an alien organism capable of mimicking its prey, the crew of the Cassiopeia must outwit their pursuers to make it home alive. As they battle to survive, they are confronted with the hardest choice of all: to save themselves, they must risk the lives of everyone on Earth.
In space, death takes many forms.
Key Features

ALIEN INVASION
The colony ship Cassiopeia is infected with an alien organism, capable of transforming into any member of the crew. While you may be human, others in your crew may not be, and killers can hide behind familiar eyes. New stealth mechanics have been added to help players evade these deadly foes: you must keep your wits about you as enemies can emerge from unexpected places and you’ll need to sneak and hide to get past these deadly alien stalkers.
BRAVE RECRUITS
Introducing the Cassiopeia’s crew. You’ll control five crew members over the course of this expedition, but as paranoia and fear builds, so does distrust. With their lives in your hands, your decisions will determine not only the crew’s fate, but all of humanities too.
NEW MECHANICS
Directive 8020 introduces several new tools. Throughout the game, you can use these to locate secrets, solve puzzles and overcome enemies.

The mission is all about survival, so every tool has its purpose in helping you think on your feet and staying alive.

FLASHLIGHT – As is to be expected from our games, you’ll spend a lot of time creeping around in the dark! Just be careful when using your flashlight, as aliens can spot the beam.
SCANNER - You'll have a scanner at your disposal for detecting electronics and remotely activating systems, helping to distract enemies and overcome obstacles.
MESSENGER - If you’re trying to stay under the radar, your messenger lets you communicate and strategize with crewmates.
WEDGE TOOL - Made for opening doors… but as a last resort, can also be used as a weapon to temporarily stun enemies, giving you a chance to slip away and evade death.
THE DARK PICTURES
Fans of Supermassive Games’ previous releases will be pleased to know that the DNA of the Dark Pictures is still present – in fact, everything you love about the Dark Pictures is still here, from branching plotlines through to impossible choices and split second QTE’s. In addition, gameplay has been redesigned, polished, and amped up to bring more of a threat when exploring the environment.

Directive 8020 lands October 2nd 2025, with pre-orders available from June 2025.
