[Omega Crafter Devlog#4] We added a set of wonderful furniture!

Hi everyone, this is the Omega Crafter dev-team.
Today’s post Devlog#4 introduces a collection of wonderful furniture suitable for a Grammi’s house.

Our dev-team has been steadily working on implementation of the game system these days, as well as adding city-building elements at the same time. We added several decorative buildings, making it even more fun to build a Grammi’s city and house.

Reflecting the buildings implemented in the past, most of the buildings (e.g., workshop, furnace) are the ones with which Grammis are supposed to work. The way they work hard looks pretty cute, but one may feel sorry for them for keeping them working all day and night 😢

That being so, we implemented a collection of wonderful furniture (table, chair, bookshelf) that can be placed in a Grammi’s house. When you see Grammis who are exhausted from their work, it’s a good idea to make a breakroom and take them to the place.

We have also added Grammi dolls looking exactly like the real Grammi. Pretty cute 🥰

By the way, building the furniture introduced in this article requires a large amount of materials (wood, wood plank). There must be large effort to collect the required materials by ourselves. Then what should we do?
In order to improve the quality of life of Grammis, ask them to do work even harder!

Grammi……?

That’s all for today’s news from the Omega Crafter dev-team. Thank you!

[Omega Crafter Devlog#3] We added marker objects by which we can guide Grammis!

Hi everyone, this is the Omega Crafter dev-team.
Today’s post Devlog#3 delivers the recent developmental update on the city building in Omega Crafter - “marker” object.

As we received many requests saying “we would like to designate the route on which a Grammi travels” or “we would love to watch Grammis running in a race” from open alpha test players, we have implemented two objects, “marker” and “directed marker” object!

A marker object is so small a building object that Grammis would not stumble on it. You can let Grammis wherever you designate to go with the marker object and a “Move” coding block.
A directed marker object is a marker object with an effect indicating its direction. You can let a Grammi go to a specific point and turn to a specific direction with certain blocks.

In the alpha test, many players may have encountered the situation that Grammis was pushing and shoving. This can be helped by marker objects introduced in this article!

One possible usage of marker objects is to guide or line-up Grammis.

It would be good to introduce marker objects if you want to build an efficient workplace for Grammis. Grammis are pretty smart to select their routes by themselves, but sometimes they fail to for some reasons. In such a case, we recommend you to use marker objects to guide Grammis to make things better.

Marker objects are very convenient when you want to take a game-play snapshot for social media. You can take a lovely photo by using marker objects as spots for actors in the scene.

The marker and directed marker objects (with the “Move” coding block) help you to control how Grammis move in the world. Enjoy your city-building with marker objects when a playable version of Omega Crafter is out!

That’s all for today’s news from the Omega Crafter dev-team. Thank you!

[Omega Crafter Devlog#2] We have added a string board convenient for automation!

Hi there! This is the Omega Crafter dev-team.
On today’s post devlog#2, we will feature a new building object “string board”.

After the open-alpha test, we have added a “string board” object.
A string board object is a building-type object from which Grammis can read a string and on which they can write a string. The string written on the string board is displayed on the game object in the 3D world.

As we can display whatever string we want on a string board, it can be used as a sign board in the city. For example, we can put up a nameplate “XX’s house” in front of a residence, or a signboard “XX’s workplace” in front of a workplace.

We can also let it be a message board for Grammis, where they post their comments by coding blocks. We believe the string board provides another way for Grammis to express their feelings, in addition to facial expressions and poses.

These are not the only use cases for string boards. As automation/programming professionals probably noticed, string boards are really convenient especially for Omega Crafter. We hope you find wonderful ways to use string boards when you play Omega Crafter.

That’s all for today’s news from the Omega Crafter dev-team. Thank you!

[Omega Crafter Devlog#1] Multi-story building is now supported!

Hello to all the passionate fans of Omega Crafter!

We previously shared our dev-roadmap on Steam NEWS. Have you seen it?

As the news says, we have been developing the core of the multi-play system, and will implement a great number of building and programming elements. Our dev-team is striving toward the open-beta test in autumn or winter and the early-access version release in winter.

Now that our dev-roadmap has been published, we have determined to report the progress of the development on a regular basis. We will do our best to share with you the latest version of Omega Crafter growing up with great force.

On this post devlog#1, we will introduce “multi-story building”, which many open-alpha test players wanted.

After the open-alpha test in May, we implemented “floor” and “stairway” objects.

A floor object is, as its name suggests, a building part used as the floor of a house. Players can place another building object on floors, which enables them to put Grammis to work in a Grammi’s private workshop.

A stairway object is a building part to go higher. Not only player characters but also Grammis can go up and down stairs, so one may consider to build intersecting traffic lines of Grammis.

There were several technical challenges to enable Grammis to go up and down stairs, but our dev-team has realized that with a strong will to meet the requests from the fans of Omega Crafter. We would like to talk about what went on behind the scenes sometime.

The floor and stairway objects have brought a wonderful feature, multi-story building to Omega Crafter!

The multi-story building system allows a greater degree of freedom in building a residence or workplace; We can enjoy building a gorgeous two-story residence for players and an efficient-oriented two-story workplace for Grammis. We believe this is good news for both players who love city-building and ones who are passionate about automation.

We are very happy to realize multi-story building because we have received a lot of requests “wanna build a two-story house in Omega Crafter!” on the open-alpha test. On the upcoming open-beta test and after the release, we would like to see your awesome buildings using floor objects and stairway objects :)

That’s all for today’s news from the Omega Crafter dev-team. Thank you!
