[2/28] 4-Player Multiplayer Update

Ahoy Pirates!

Thanks to all the support and sincere feedback from everyone who joined us so far during the first months of the Early Access phase.
We are proud to announce that IfSunSets is finally fully supporting 4-player multiplayer.

Now, you can experience even more intense, strategic, and fun survival gameplay with your friends, colleagues, and family. We deeply apologize for the long waiting time you all had to endure.

As always, we will continue to listen to your feedback and grow IfSunSets together with you.
Your feedback is always welcome. We will never ignore it and will carefully consider everything!

■ Update Version:: v0.4.9

[h2]4-Player-Multiplayer Support[/h2]
  • Changed Multiplayer from a maximum of 2 players to a maximum of 4 players.
[h2]■ Party System[/h2]
  • Added a party system for the 4-player multiplayer support.
  • Through this system, players can share experience points, monster kills, and more.
    The party system is essential for tracking each other's locations and participating in boss battles together.
[h2]Lock System[/h2]
  • A new lock system has been developed to protect your valuable home and treasure chests.
  • Locks can be installed on chests and doors, preventing interaction with them by anyone other than the owner.
  • However, party members can still interact with locked chests and doors if permission is granted through the party system.
[h2]New Shared Chest System[/h2]
The long-awaited shared chest system is now live!
  • Shared chests will now allow players to share materials better with each other.
  • Store your materials in the shared chest and feel free to share them with others!
Important Information
  • The teleportation system has been changed for system management purposes.
  • Disconnect issues may occur intermittently, but a patch will be released soon to improve this.
  • For optimization purposes, the quest "Records on the Crimson Wetlands" has been temporarily suspended.
    We will improve the performance for this quest and plan to activate this quest again with the next update
[h3][General Bug Fixes][/h3]
  • Adjusted the crafting quantity in the crafting tab to increase only up to the max. craftable amount.
  • Fixed an issue where the boss Worms repeatedly perform the same actions.
  • Fixed an issue where the boss Brown Beard would not attack unless within a specific range.
  • Fixed an issue where night monsters would pause briefly before acting after spawning.
  • Fixed an issue where materials were excessively consumed when repairing traps.
  • Fixed an issue where the trap repair icon would not disappear from the screen.
  • Fixed an issue where Golden Tribe Archer Armor dropped as a regular armor instead of a blueprint.
  • Fixed an issue where monsters respawn immediately after visiting certain locations near the castle.
  • Fixed an issue where there were gaps in the stairs inside the castle.
  • Fixed an issue where the guillotine trap in the castle appeared abnormally based on distance.
  • Fixed an issue where crops appeared abnormally based on distance.
  • Fixed an issue where attempting consecutive attacks with a spear drained additional stamina.
  • Fixed an issue where the arrow flying animation for arrow traps appeared unnatural.
  • Fixed an issue where the character's stat description did not match the actual stat increase.
  • Fixed an issue where there were unreachable spaces in the jungle area.
  • Fixed an issue where some object placements in the jungle area looked unnatural.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing Enter and ESC simultaneously caused the chat to become unusable.
  • Fixed an issue where the damage values for stealth attack hits did not match the actual damage dealt.
  • Fixed an issue where the mouse pointer would not immediately appear after death in the Night of the Dead.
  • Fixed an issue where the Steel Spear item would fall beneath the ground when dropped.
  • Fixed an issue where the Night of the Dead notifications appeared twice.
  • Fixed an issue where a crash occurred when opening the building scroll.
  • Fixed an issue where fertilizer consumption in small plots was too fast.
  • Fixed an issue where parts of the background would disappear when the character died.
  • Fixed an issue where holding a bed allowed teleportation to a teleportation point.
  • Fixed an issue where the texture of some rocks appeared unnatural.
  • Fixed an issue where the texture of the cliff in the gorge appeared unnatural.
  • Fixed an issue where some bundles would generate inside the ground.
  • Fixed a typo during interactions with Thor and the fairy.
  • Fixed an issue where the base attack damage was reduced when equipping weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where dungeon keys would drop twice.
  • Fixed an issue where items would disappear when acquired while the bag was full.
  • Fixed an issue where the Nameless Captain's Sword was not displaying as intended.
[h3][Single Player][/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where the boss cutscene could not be skipped in single-player mode.
  • Fixed an issue where no tombstone was created after the player died in Night of the Dead in single-player mode.
[h3][Multiplayer][/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where multiplayer world search was not functioning properly.
  • Fixed an issue where guests could not gather brambles in multiplayer.
  • Fixed an issue where the flame effect of explosion traps was not visible to guests.
[h3][Known Issues][/h3]
  • We are investigating into an issue where bosses do not respawn after 5 days, despite having been defeated.

2/21 HotFix

■ Update Version:: v0.4.8


[h2]■ Major Hotfix Details[/h2]

[h3]1. We have resolved the issue where certain interactive objects were being reset. The specific issues addressed are as follows[/h3]
  • The issue where trees planted by the player would disappear has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where world settings, including private rooms and other configurations, were being reset.
  • Fixed and issue were unlocked doors in dungeons were locked again.


**If you saved the game after experiencing these issues following the previous hotfix (2025.02.20), recovery may not be possible.
If your save was affected, please use the "Restore Backup" option in the Main Menu → Backup Menu.**



[h3]Fixed an issue where save data would not appear on the screen before or after saving.[/h3]
Fixed an issue where save files would not appear on the load screen after saving and restarting the game.
Modified the system to prompt players to restart the game after the first save. (This restart is required only once after the initial save; further restarts will not be necessary.)


[h2]■ Hotfix Details[/h2]

  • Fixed an issue where certain night monsters would not move.
  • Fixed an issue where NPCs were selling items from unreleased content.
  • Fixed an issue where crafting recipes from unreleased content would appear.
  • Fixed an issue where the blue orbs in the Cultist Dungeon would overlap in pairs, and the red orb would not appear.
  • Fixed an issue where certain monsters in dungeons would continuously respawn.

We are working on fixing an issue where some interacted objects were being reset

Hello everyone.
This is the IfSunSets Team.
After Update 0.4.7 some issues appeared and we want to apologize for this.

[h3]Known issues:[/h3]
  • An issue occurred where cleared dungeons got partly reset and doors, which were opened with keys as well as defused traps were completely reset.
  • Trees planted by the player disappeared and got reset.


We have identified the cause of this issue and a hotfix is scheduled for today.

Please note that data saved after the reset occurred may be difficult to restore.
We recommend playing the game after the planned hotfix is applied.

[h3]If you have already saved your progress,
we recommend using the backup system after the hotfix to restore your earliest backup data.

■ Update Version: v0.4.7


[h2]■ Save Data Overhaul[/h2]
In this update, we completely overhauled the system of saving your progress to deal with savefile issues because of crashes or sudden disconnections.
Because of the savefile changes a savedata migration will be done when having savedata from previous versions of the game.

[h3]If your saved data does not appear after launching the game,
please restart the game, and the issue should be resolved.

[h3]Added a Savefile Backup Feature[/h3]
  • The savefile backup feature is designed to restore previous save data when your character data is lost or your server information is unavailable.
  • The backup will operate once when the game is launched, and up to 5 backup files will be kept.
  • Please note that when restoring data using the backup feature, the existing data will be overwritten, so use this feature with caution.
* If you encounter any issues with save data migration or the backup feature, please contact us via Discord, and we will respond quickly.

  • Fixed an issue where Amira would sometimes not appear despite being rescued.
  • Fixed an issue where the boss would not spawn after a certain period of time had passed after being defeated.
  • Fixed an issue where the mount could not be dismounted when consuming food simultaneously.
  • Fixed an issue where some translations were missing.
  • Fixed an issue where character information would be displayed even though no save data was present when loading the game.
  • Fixed an issue where some fairy skills were not functioning as intended while using a mount.
  • Fixed an issue where wooden barrels in the castle were spawning stacked on top of each other.
  • Fixed an issue where the fragments from breaking the golden floor tiles would appear incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where monsters would stutter when chasing the player.
  • Fixed an issue where the fanatic summoning skill was being used repeatedly.
  • Fixed an issue where the tail summon attack of the Boss Worms was triggering incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where, while climbing ladders in the Boss Worms map, the downward motion would occasionally appear.
  • Fixed an issue where the Boss Worms respawn message was missing.
  • Fixed an issue where the breath attack of the a Boss occasionally did not register as a hit.
  • Adjusted the minimum value for shop multipliers in world settings.
  • Fixed an issue where decorative lamps sold by Lora could not be reclaimed.
  • Fixed an issue where players could pass through walls when mounting a mount near a wall.
  • Fixed an issue where the effect from the Sea Slater was not visible.
  • Fixed an issue where Shadow Wing was moving in backwards.
  • Fixed an issue where, after crafting an item while the inventory was full, any dropped item would be automatically acquired as a rare item, regardless of conditions.
  • Reworked the experience distribution logic in multiplayer.
  • Fixed an issue where the creation and update of save files were happening at different times, causing unintended behavior.
  • Fixed an issue where there was more lag when viewing or playing in the ruins compared to other areas.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would freeze when opening the load/save window.
[h3]■ Multiplayer[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where the attack of the Twin Witches appeared differently for guests and on the server.
  • Fixed an issue where, even after destroying the Heart Gem, other players could still destroy it.
  • Fixed an issue where purified Cthuga stones would disappear when transferring to the inventory from the purification device.
  • Fixed an issue where players would occasionally fall through the floor during the Iron Heart battle.
  • Fixed an issue where players could build high structures during the Iron Heart battle, making it easier to defeat Iron Heart.
  • Fixed an issue where the guest player’s teleportation in the host environment caused the host’s frame rate to drop significantly.
[h3]■ Game Environment[/h3]
  • Optimized plants and crops.
  • Fixed an issue where certain trees, plants, stones, and rocks appeared oddly due to distance.
[h2]■ Known Issues[/h2]
We are investigating following issues.
  • Investigating an issue where right-clicking to aim and fire with pistols and rifles causes the aiming state to reset.
  • Discussing the issue where the rate of fire of pistols is too low, causing balance issues with rifles.
  • Investigating frame drops during auto-save in single-player/multiplayer worlds.
  • Checking an issue where field monster respawn times are not functioning as intended.
  • Analyzing reports of Fatal Errors and LowLevelFatalErrors to prevent recurrence.
  • Replacing the search function in the multiplayer server search with one that shows servers containing the searched terms, rather than only searching exact matches.
  • There is an intermittent issue where save data does not appear in-game. This is planned to be fixed with an upcoming update. If this issue occurs now, restarting should resolve the issue.
