IfSunSets – One Year Together: A Message from the Developers

[p][/p][p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]This is Cho, CEO of Polymorph Studios.[/p][p]Today marks exactly one year since IfSunSets first stepped into the world through Early Access.[/p][p]On behalf of the entire development team, I want to express my sincere gratitude to every survivor who has walked this journey with us.[/p][p][/p][h2]Our Beginning — From Their World to Ours[/h2][p]Our team originally worked in film VFX outsourcing.[/p][p]For three years, we helped bring other people’s imaginations to life, until one day, we felt a deep desire to create our own world.[/p][p]With no programmers on the team, we taught ourselves Unreal Engine from scratch.[/p][p]We spent Mondays to Wednesdays on outsourcing work, and Thursdays to Saturdays developing the game.[/p][p]As time went on, one thing became certain.[/p][p]This isn’t just a project — it’s a challenge that will change our lives.”[/p][p]So, we made a bold decision: we stopped all outsourcing and poured everything we had into the dream called IfSunSets.[/p][p]And now, that dream has taken its first step forward — together with you — for a full year.[/p][p][/p][h2]Our Growth — From Three to Fifteen[/h2][p]From the days when not a single person on our team could code,[/p][p]we’ve now grown into a full development team of fifteen.[/p]

And we’ve never forgotten it.[/p][p]We hope that IfSunSets can be a quiet moment of comfort after a long day for some, and a memory filled with laughter shared with friends for others.[/p][p][/p][h2]One Year of Lessons — Painful Feedback and Real Growth[/h2][p]The early days of release were far from perfect.[/p][p]Server instability, clunky controls, performance issues, incomplete systems…[/p][p]Your honest feedback was tough to hear at times — but it was also completely right.[/p][p]Thanks to that feedback, we’ve released over 80 patches and hotfixes,[/p][p]and added a wide range of new content.[/p][p]Every change we made started with your voices.[/p][p][/p][h2]Our Promise — The True Beginning of IfSunSets[/h2][p]From this point forward, we’re going beyond stability. It’s time to bring you the new experiences you’ve been waiting for.[/p][p]In the next update, we’ll introduce the Ocean Update, where you can freely explore the open sea;[/p][p]the main story that uncovers the mysteries of Luminora Island;[/p][p]and new monsters, animals, and marine life waiting for your challenge.[/p][p][/p][p]Originally, we aimed to release this update in Q4 2025, but we’ve decided to take one additional month to reach the level of quality we’re striving for.[/p][p]As a result, the Ocean content has been rescheduled for mid-January 2026.[/p][p]We sincerely apologize to everyone who’s been waiting.[/p][p]It may be a little later than planned, but we promise to make it worth the wait — more polished, more complete, and more immersive.[/p][p]Every single day, we’re working tirelessly to make sure the January update shows you the true identity and core mechanics of IfSunSets.[/p][p]We’ll make a version of IfSunSets you can truly be proud to play.[/p][p][/p][h2]And Finally[/h2][p]Over the past year, we’ve learned that passion alone isn’t enough to make a game.[/p][p]But we’ve also learned that when something’s missing, we can improve it — and when something’s unknown, we can learn it. A new tab has been added to the inventory, and all other tabs outside the inventory have been changed to a “Registration” system.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Inventory – The original inventory where various items are stored.[/p][p]Codex – Stores documents that contain hints and information about bosses.[/p][p]Keys – Once obtained, keys are registered in the “Keys” tab. They do not disappear and can be reused anytime as long as they remain registered.[/p][p]Important Items – Quest-related items are registered here. Registered items do not disappear and can be reused anytime as long as they remain registered.[/p][p]※ Due to this update, existing quest items and key items have been changed to usable items.
You can register them to their respective tabs by selecting the item and clicking the “Use” button in the item options.

For items that can only be obtained once in the world, a blueprint for crafting that item has been placed next to it.[/p][p][/p][p]4.
