You can now Import your own Models!

Hello conductors,

Get ready to customize your Creative Mode levels even further, by bringing your own 3D models into Station to Station - and then sharing those super custom levels with other conductors.



[h3]Our brand-new Model Import feature is out now![/h3]
Use the tools we’ve added to bring regular 3D models or voxel models into the game. Standard GLB format files are the ones to use.



Like before, you’ll be able to share your designs with the wider community and download and play other people’s creations as well. But now also with your own props!

[h3]New features[/h3]
  • You can now add your own 3D models to Station to Station! So you can now make your own props and put them in a Creative Mode level. When you upload a level that features custom 3D models, those models are automatically uploaded as part of the level so others can enjoy them as well.
  • A button was added so Creative Mode levels can be deleted
  • Added cherry blossom trees to the decorations side menu in Creative Mode
  • Added music to the Creative Mode editor
  • Added localisation for Creative Mode


[h3]General improvements[/h3]
  • Increased legibility on Steam Deck
  • Changed the names of the curve settings of custom games in English to make them clearer
  • Some translation changes:
  • - Changed Budgetaufgabe to Budget-Aufgabe in German
  • - Changed Persönliche Bestzeit to Persönlicher Rekord in German
  • Corrected the name of "Various produces" to "Various items" for the City in Creative Mode
  • If you make a custom thumbnail in CurseForge, it will no longer reset when updating your level
  • Added new contributors to the credits and corrected some capitalization mistakes


[h3]Bug fixes[/h3]
  • Corrected the curve settings menu for custom games in Italian
  • Fixed that sometimes restarting from a checkpoint would invalidate a connection of an existing station
  • Fixed that some houses and cities in Creative Mode would sometimes turn invisible or just get deleted outright
  • Fixed that there would be an FPS drop when using some brushes in Creative Mode
  • Fixed in Creative Mode under decorations: the second slider would control density, but the tooltip would say “strength falloff”
  • Fixed that the sail of the boat model was clipping in Creative Mode

Update 1.4.2 LIVE NOW!

We've just released an update that fixes a number of bugs in Creative Mode and adds some bits of polish. Enjoy!

[h2]Changes[/h2]
  • Creative levels now need to have a description before you can upload them.
  • Cities in creative mode can now only rotate 90 degrees to prevent problems with houses that spawn around the cities.
  • Added that you can now brush decorations with an even lower density.
  • Added three possible random cards to new creative levels by default: cheap rails, cheap bridges and heavy freight train.


[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed that diorama mode would persist in campaign levels after playing a creative level with diorama mode active.
  • Fixed that the game might boot up a VR device or that it might crash if you have a VR device installed. (Please let us know if the issue persists!)
  • Fixed that you could open a broken state of a level when you open a save of a creative level that has been deleted.
  • Fixed various models not turning red on invalid locations in creative mode
  • Fixed that clicking the “open level page in browser” would sometimes give the browser a wrong URL.
  • Fixed that the “sort by” dropdown in the mod browser would add additional dropdown entries on reopening the mod browser.
  • Fixed that the density setting didn’t do enough for “dense forest” and “impenetrable rocks”.
  • Fixed that “no building connection” pins on stations would reappear when you removed them, by disabling and enabling the HUD or taking a Steam screenshot.
  • Fixed that the controller becomes unresponsive during the credits.
  • Fixed that the credits wouldn’t scroll all the way up before it disappears.
  • Fixed that changing the graphics options using a controller wouldn’t save the new options.
  • Fixed that animals would sometimes be invisible while placing them in creative mode.
  • Fixed various texts and naming improvements.
  • Fixed various localization issues in which the text wouldn’t fit in their box.

Use the brushes we’ve created to design your own worlds in Station to Station. Shape your world by creating mountains and valleys, then customise them with different biomes, foliage, and props using every new tool we've put at your disposal.


You can even set starting money and fund challenge goals, as well as choosing which cards and buildings unlock to make the level fully playable!


You’ll be able to share your designs with the wider community and download and play other people’s creations as well! Whether you want to create a challenging level for players to complete, or just a beautiful world for them to explore, it’s up to you.

[h3]Other Build Updates[/h3]
  • Changed the model of the Passenger Terminal station in Eveningstar Valley to the Maliebaan Station in celebration of the 150th birthday of this historic station in Utrecht (near our office). It's currently the home of the Dutch Railway Museum, and houses the original Big Green - which is the passenger locomotive in Station to Station.
  • Revamped the save/load system. This shouldn’t cause any issues, but if there are any please let us know!
  • Improved performance when creating rails.

In this free update, you’ll discover 13 brand-new levels!

[h2] New region: Sunrise Island [/h2]
Sunrise Island, our Japanese-inspired region, is home to 7 levels and 3 new industries: a rice farm, a woodblock art printer, and a sushi restaurant. There will also be new cards to experiment with!



[h2] Dreamland levels [/h2]
We’ll also be adding 6 mysterious new levels to our previous regions, called Dreamland levels! These whimsical new levels offer a fun and unique twist on the classic Station to Station gameplay.
Our team had so much fun coming up with these ridiculous ideas and we hope you love them as much as we do!

13 new levels!
  • 6 dream levels which includes cool things like: Rollercoasters, mazes and hot air balloons!
  • 7 levels in the new region: Sunrise Island! With new cards and 3 new industries!

  • We also added an autumn biome to custom games

  • Removed the analytics option because we aren't collecting any analytics anyway

  • Fixed a crash when doing a very specific combination of setting custom game settings, loading a save and then going back to the custom game menu.

  • Fixed that the save file text in Japanese would extent to behind the delete button

  • Fix that when clicking escape, the photomode button would not appear while making a track
  • Fixed a bug where the camera would move when dragging an anchor point
  • Fixed that camera movement speed-up on controller was accidentally also applied to keyboard camera movement.
  • Fixed that a canceled TNT card would still blow up rocks in some cases
  • Fixed that if you're on controller and following a train and then enter the settings menu, pressing "B" will unfollow the train
