[h2]Photo Mode[/h2]
Hold on tight as this new update brings photo mode to the breathtaking world of Station to Station.

As you adventure through the rolling hills of Greendale or travel to the untamed wilderness of the Wild West, you’ll be able to access photo mode at any moment.

There are a variety of options to help you capture the perfect shot as well. Zoom, focus distance, and blur strength can add depth to your photos, while options like stopping the trains or hiding the interface help you line up the perfect shot.

Photo Mode also comes with the option to follow a specific train on its journey, as well as a ride-along option to give you the full experience.



[h2]Tiny Levels[/h2]
Our December update also brings with it four new tiny levels across the existing regions.

These bite-sized levels aren’t required to progress through the campaign but add fun additional challenges to the game.



[h2]Custom Mode[/h2]
But that’s not all! We’ve also revamp Custom Mode to add even more options to let you transform the game and personalise your custom levels.

Custom Mode now has four main categories to experiment with:

• LEVEL options let you customise the shape, size, and height to increase or reduce the difficulty of your map.
  
• INDUSTRY types let you select what industry you’d like to appear, and how closely they’ll be grouped together.
  
• The GRAPHICS can also be changed letting you choose the biome, weather, and number of animals you want in your custom world.
  
• The final section, RAILROADS, affects the cost of your railroads, how much they are allowed to curve, and their maximum slope.
  

This is our last update of 2023 and we hope you’ll enjoy these new additions to Station to Station! The fun doesn’t stop there though as we will be back in 2024 with even more updates for the game.

[h3]What’s new:[/h3]
Four new tiny levels! One for each of the following regions:

• Sunforge Sands
  
• Flint Hills
  
• Nugget Creek
  
• Eveningstar Valley
  

Photo mode! Take pretty pictures of your trains as they chug on by or sit in one of the cabins and enjoy the view :)

• Zoom, Focus Distance, and Blur Strength, with an option for automatic depth of field.
  
• Pick Focus Option.
  
• Hide the Interface Option
  
• Stop/Pause All Trains Option
  
• "Follow Train" Mode with the “cabin view” option
  

Custom game mode has gained several new options! For ease of use, custom game mode was split into 4 sections:

• Levels: Here you can choose the size, shape, height of cliffs, and forest density! Also, you can now make a seed so you can share your cool creations with friends!
  
• Industry: Choose the type of industries that are included in the game and determine how much distance should be between them.
  
• Graphics: Choose your biome, the type of lighting you want your level to have, and how many animals your level will have!
  
• Railroads: Determine the cost of your railroads, how much they are allowed to curve, and their maximum slope.
  

Art book improvements:

• Added 4 pages about the Nugget Creek update
  
• Replaced a number of images with similar ones of higher quality
  

New achievements! Achievements for both tiny levels and custom games!
[h3]Changes:[/h3]

• Moved from Unreal Engine 4.26.2 to Unreal Engine 4.27.2. This should not have a noticeable effect on the game!
  
• In Custom games you now get more money based on which settings you play with. Most setups also received extra cards.
  
• Added extra gunpower to TNT (blows up rocks in an increased range around your track)
  
• All tiny levels now have their own icon
  
• Some levels in the level select screen have been moved or changed level number to make room for the new tiny levels
  
• Added mining industry to some custom game setups that include universities.
  
• Added localisation for the gold rush region and some custom game settings
  
• Small terrain change in Nugget Creek 2
  
• Improvements to Greendale level 4
  

[h3]Bugfixes:[/h3]

• Fixed that sometimes the items on the stations would not have the correct color
  
• Disabled Bloom on Very Low graphics quality, fixing that water would sometimes get large bright flickering spots when reflecting the sun
  
• Fixed that "Farming and mining" Large custom game would sometimes not spawn enough coal mines and dairies
  
• Fixed that when upgrading a building there would be a little flag pole icon sticking through the building
  
• Fixed that the station connectors would cast shadows on the ground
  
• Fixed that corn would sometimes not show up in tooltips.
  
• The custom game options menu now remembers the lastly used options; it no longer gets overwritten by a loaded save
  

Hello conductors,

One of the most requested features for Station to Station has always been a photo mode, followed very closely by a ride-along cam.

We’re pleased to share that our free December update will include both of these features, along with more content that will be detailed below!



The brand-new photo mode will offer a few different options to help you craft the perfect photo opportunity in game.

We’ve also added 4 new optional tiny levels sprinkled across 4 different regions in the game and custom mode has received a huge update to make it even more customisable.

[h3]This new update will launch in less than a week on Tuesday 12th of December! [/h3]

This will be our last update of 2023, but there will be more content coming in 2024! We have a lot planned as a way to say thank you for all your support.

We’re thrilled to announce that our new update is out now!

This free update takes us to Nugget Creek, which is a brand new region in the game, with 7 new achievements, 5 new levels, 4 new industries, a new card, and a new animal!

It also comes with our biggest discount so far (20%), so saddle up because we’re heading to the Gold Rush era!

In this new region, you’ll be filling your train with horses and gold ingots and blasting through impenetrable rocks with an explosive TNT card!

[h2]Other New Features and Updates[/h2]

There are also an abundance of new features, like adaptive stations that visually change depending on whether it’s a freight or passenger station.

The number of freight and passenger rails connected to a station now changes the appearance of the station, meaning a small station can change to a large one with a roof above the trains or even a huge animated freight crane on rails.



Custom Game Mode has also received an update with 2 new industry types: mining & farming and mining & wood.

We’ve also listened to feedback from players that the first region is too easy, so we’ve completely remade Greendale 4 and 5 to introduce cards earlier.

Sadly, this new update also comes with a goodbye to our terrifying Choo Choo Charles mode.

In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s our current roadmap for Station to Station. Our November update is out now and we have one more update coming this year in December!

This will add a lot of new features that were requested by our community - including photo mode and ride-along mode.

New region: Nugget Creek!

New features

• Stations now change based on how many freight and passengers rails are connected to them. They go from a small station to a large one with a roof above the trains or even a huge animating freight crane on rails.
  
• Added 2 new industry types for custom games: Mining + farming, Mining + wood
  
• Levels Greendale 4 and 5 have been completely remade to make the first region more varied and to introduce cards one level earlier.
  

Controller improvements

• Made it clearer which buttons have been selected in the main menu, the level select and in the settings menu
  
• You can now scroll through all UI menus by holding the stick
  
• The camera and cursor speed have been tweaked, cursor speed now accelerates when you hold down
  

Other

• Choo Choo Charles has now left Station to Station.
  

Bugfixes

• The save system now stores backups and loads them automatically, hopefully fixing extremely rare issues where players lost all of their progress
  
• Fixed that the Passenger Terminal station was missing its clocks.
  
• Birds no longer cast shadows on the landscape on the low shadow quality setting
  
• The tool factory no longer has smoke while it's not activated
  
• The water pump no longer plays sound while it's not activated
  
• Fixed a bug where water would sometimes disappear
  
• Fixed a bug where water would sometimes come out from underneath the terrain
  
• Fixed that trains were permanently slightly transparent after having turned around at a station for the first time
  
• Fixed that cliffs were sometimes made over water
  
• Fixed that fund medals would sometimes not unlock despite having enough funds
  
• Fixed the lighting issue in Flint hills 3
  
• Fixed that when two buildings dropped next to each other, the first one would sometimes partially disappear under the ground.
  
• All videos now work on steamdeck
  
• Changes to save system:
  
• Fixed gameplay props would sometimes be in different positions when loading a new save
  
• Fixed that deleting a manual save would duplicate the manual saves in the UI.
  
• Fixed express train would sometimes not save
  
• Fixed that older saves would sometimes not work
  
• Changes to the railroad generation:
  
• Taken measures to prevent ground going over the rails
  
• Fixed that railroads would sometimes create a square pattern around them

Thank you for an incredible first month of Station to Station! We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive support from you all so far and we can’t wait to share more content with you in the future.

So, this is the perfect time to introduce our next region - Nugget Creek!



Our new update will take you to the Gold Rush era for 5 new levels, and 4 new industries, as well as a new animal and a new environmental obstacle.

We’ve also squeezed in an update to the custom game mode and you’ll be able to try all of these new features out when the new update releases in just one week!
