SCS On The Road: Renault Trucks Engine Plant

[p]We’re back with a new episode of our SCS On The Road series, and this time we’re taking you behind the scenes at the Renault Trucks Engine Plant in Lyon, France!
[/p][p][/p][p]During our visit to SOLUTRANS last year (a major transport and logistics expo), our friends at Renault Trucks kindly invited us on a special tour of their Engine Plant, which we’re excited to share with you today! Join Nemiro, our PR & Marketing Manager, and Patrice Berger-Perrin from Renault Trucks' Corporate Communications team as we begin with a visit to their historic museum, located in one of the company’s oldest buildings, designed and constructed in 1916. The museum showcases the rich timeline of Renault, highlighting the vehicles and innovations that have shaped the brand for over a century.

Following the museum visit, the tour continues into the heart of the production line, where we explore how Renault Truck engines (and others) are built, from the initial stages of assembly to the final quality checks. Along the way, Patrice shares valuable insights into the workforce, the assembly process, the structure of the production lines, and the technology used to create each and every engine.
[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]A big thank you to the Renault Trucks team for the warm welcome and for giving us the opportunity to share this fascinating look into their operations and history with our #BestCommunityEver. If you enjoyed this episode, be sure to subscribe, hit the like button, and leave a comment, we'd love to hear from you. We look forward to seeing you for the next one, until then, keep on truckin’![/p]

Euro Truck Simulator 2 dev confirms coaches as an entirely new way to play

Back in May, SCS Software shared a 22-second video of a coach pulling out from behind a big rig in Euro Truck Simulator 2, and it sent the community into a frenzy. That's because players have been asking for coaches in ETS2 for years, even going as far as to mod them in themselves instead of waiting. Now, SCS has finally confirmed that coaches are in development, and they're definitely a game changer.

Project Coaches

[p]When we released our teaser titled “Next Stop: ETS2,” the community instantly understood what it signalled, and today we’re excited to confirm it. Project Coaches is now officially in development, marking the start of a brand-new driving experience within Euro Truck Simulator 2.

This new addition will offer players a whole new way to explore and work in the ETS2 world. Instead of hauling cargo, you’ll be stepping into the role of a coach driver. While we’re still early in the development process, many elements are still evolving behind the scenes.

[p][/p]
[p]We've already begun laying the foundation, from creating several coach models with characteristic handling to developing a network of bus terminals across the map (which many of you have noticed for a long time now). We're even reworking some older coach station prefabs from the ground up to better fit this new gameplay.
[/p][p][/p][p]If you're interested in learning more about how this idea came to life and where it's headed, we highly recommend watching our latest vidcast, featuring Pavel, Nemiro, Dominik, and Jarda as they discuss the project in more detail.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]
And don’t worry, our work on trucks, map expansions, and the core ETS2 content isn’t going anywhere. A dedicated team is handling Project Coaches, allowing our ongoing development plans for the game to continue at full speed.

[p]
We’re really looking forward to showing you more as this project takes shape. It’s something we’ve wanted to explore for quite some time, and we hope it opens the door to new kinds of experiences within the ETS2 universe. [/p][p][/p]

12 years after teasing buses were coming to Euro Truck Simulator 2, they finally arrive

You know how it is: you rush to the bus stop because you think you're going to miss it, then it arrives 12 years late. Typical. The makers of Euro Truck Simulator 2 have shown off a short trailer with a big shiny European coach in it. It confirms that the sim will add driveable buses in some form soon, fulfilling a long-forgotten tease that was first made by the developers back in the cloudy days of 2013.
