Action! - Gameplay Recording and Streaming News

Hi Everyone!

First of all we are sorry for any problems you might have had with Action! after upgrading to the latest 24H2 Windows 11 version. This update is very big and changes a lot in Windows architecture (that's why there are words it should be called Windows 12).

Most of the Windows 11 display core has changed and the desktop no longer uses a "swap chain" presentation model. Instead Direct Display is now used and allows direct rendering of desktops with any framerate to the display devices. Also multiplane overlays are now used on all supporting hardware (you can check for MPO3 support in Dxdiag application for you GPU).

Some of you may know what Multiplane overlays are and what headache they can cause (including game flickering/crashing etc.). Since there is no official information on how to disable MPO in the system (there was a magic registry key but it is not working anymore) we are going to provide a small app called MPOOFF that can disable Multiplane Overlays deep in the system. It will be available for download on our Remotly product website remotly.com soon (on the community page).

How Multiplane overlays work? In short these are hardware accelerated graphics/video planes that are composed using special hardware offloading GPU 3D core. In the past this composing was done in DWM (Desktop Window Manager) using 3D shaders, sharing processing power with 3D apps and games.

Below please find all fixes for 24H2 included in version 4.43.0:

- Fixed HUD in desktop mode (fix for Windows 11 24H2 update)
- Fixed automatic HDR detection for games (fix for Windows 11 24H2 update)
- Fixed audio recording from selected application (fix for Windows 11 24H2 update)
- Fixed drawing panel (fix for Windows 11 24H2 update)
- Improved HUD refresh in desktop mode
- Fixed capturing Windows Store games (in Game Mode) when WindowsApps folder is root (C:\) folder

Hi Everyone!

This update fixes streaming to Facebook LIVE. It was not working for the past few months after recent changes from Meta Corp. Both URL/Streamkey and direct streaming to Facebook wall (using Account Manager) are now working.

In this update we have added support for Time-Shift in Window (Window Picker) and Capture Device modes.

In the latest Action! update we are introducing 444 recording support to allow pixel perfect capture of desktop and games! You can now enjoy super crisp recordings on the latest Intel and Nvidia GPUs.
Please check the "Hardware acceleration" drop down list to see if HEVC 444 is supported on your system.

- Fixed auto HDR detection for Steam games in Screen and Game capture modes
- Added color format selection for webcams and capturing devices (RGB, YUY2, NV12, P010 etc.)
- Added HUD in Device Capture mode
- Added browser overlay scaling (50-300% useful for displaying live chat on HUD in 4K)
- New advanced HDR to SDR tone mapper
- New improved SDR/RGB to HDR conversion for graphics/web browser/camera overlays in HDR mode

This release contains a critical fix for auto HDR detection which stopped working after one of the latest Steam platform updates.
