I'm thrilled to announce that our small but mighty team has just wrapped up closed beta testing for the multiplayer mode in Arms Race 2! It’s been a wild ride full of challenges, but we’ve overcome them—and multiplayer is now running smoothly and ready for action.

In the early days of testing, launching a server and connecting players could take up to 3 minutes. But now? It’s lightning fast—just 3 to 5 seconds!

To make finding allies easier, I’ve created a matchmaking thread on the Arms Race 2 Steam forum. If you're looking for teammates to strategize and dominate with, drop your contact info there and coordinate your sessions—super simple and super fast!

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you for your amazing support. Your feedback has been 100% positive so far, and for a small indie team like ours, that means the world. It was your incredible support that truly inspired us to bring multiplayer to life. We built it for you—and we can’t wait to see you all playing together

And here’s a bonus: your friends don’t need to own AR2 to play with you! The free demo of Arms Race 2 is fully integrated with multiplayer. Just have them download it and jump right into battle with you.

To all demo and beta owners:

We are pleased to announce the release of the v037 update. One particular feature in this update requires special attention from those who experienced the issue of clutter on their screens. Some players reported issues with in-game windows overlapping in the previous version, and we diligently investigated to find the root cause. After thorough analysis, we discovered that the problem arose due to varying monitor resolutions, particularly all except 16:9 and 16:10. We are happy to inform you that this issue has been resolved (hopefully). Regardless of your monitor's resolution, windows should no longer stack on top of each other (unless you have a triangular or portrait-sized monitor).

Apart from that, we have made some tweaks to the in-game balance and mechanics:

AI will now protect its own country without spreading resources if it is engaged in an ongoing war within its borders.
AI will attempt a peaceful revolution (coup d'état) if it possesses all the necessary units in its pool, instead of resorting to a civil war to speed up the process.
The UN resolution for peacekeeping now costs 50 UN points (reduced from 80).
AI will use the UN resolution for peacekeeping as soon as it becomes available during an ongoing war within its own country.
We have edited some of the news text to make it shorter and fit better on the TV screen.
