Server Optimizations Announcement (11/10/2023)

Recently, we have been concerned about the discussion and feedback from community players regarding server resets. For the consideration of optimizing the server structure, we decided to close some underloaded servers in advance, the closing time is scheduled on November 13, 2023 at 3:00 UTC, we apologize to the affected players. Meanwhile, we will open some new servers, please stay tuned.

The following servers will be closed:
NA Servers: 2410, 2416, 2427
Asia Servers: 3406, 3407, 3413, 3414, 3415, 3418, 3420, 3430, 3431, 3435, 3437, 3441, 3447, 3448, 3449
Oce Servers: 5018, 5021, 5023, 5025

The Front Server Maintenance announcement(11/10/2023)

The Front 1.0.12 patch notes (11/10/2023)

In response to the feedback of The Front Early Access, we are sparing no effort to fix the problems and optimize the adjustments, and we will have an update for patch 1.0.12 on 07:00-08:00 Nov 10 UTC. Sorry for the inconvenience and maintenance time could be postponed due to unexpected technical issues. Thank you for your understanding and support!

In order to provide a better gaming experience, we have made the following updates:

[h2]New Game Content[/h2]

  • New "Warhammer" base vehicle.
  • Skin functions are available now. You can craft the skins in the work bench. (Skins can be obtained from the steam drop event, and they are located in the account ware house in the main game menu, dedicated servers, solo/hosted games are not supported at this patch, we will make it available in the next patch.)
  • You can now adjust FOV, Gamma value and also FSR/DLSS/XESS switches
  • Mushrooms can be planted



[h2]Adjustments and Optimizations[/h2]
  • Add the exclusive food for "Patrol Sergeant"
  • Animals will no longer actively attack the player's vehicle while traveling, but will be scared and run away
  • Appropriately reduced the HP of foxes, wild boars, wolves and cougars
  • Adjusted the collision of some buildings in the scene and optimized the AI’s path finding abilities
  • The floor can no longer be extended downward to place triangular walls and right-angled walls
  • Increased the output of plant mucus when collecting cactus with chain saws
  • Creature lures will no longer be destroyed by gun-wielding NPCs
  • Adjusted the refresh rate of rain, snow, and fog


[h2]Bugs Fixed[/h2]
  • Beacons disappeared after upgrading
  • After a non-beacon owner upgraded a beacon, the ownership of the building in the area was wrongly changed to the player who upgraded the beacon
  • The interface may not be refreshed after submitting materials for beacons/territory flags
  • Abnormal recruitment time of patrol sergeant
  • Wrong information displayed on telescope interface
  • Collection tool on the front end of the collection vehicle is damaged and the model is still not restored after repair, resulting in the problem of not being able to use it normally
  • Helicopter will not crash after leaving the driver's seat when driving the helicopter in the air

  • Abnormal solar generator under certain circumstances

Dev Log 2 (11/9/2023)

Hello everyone, since the release of Early Acess, we have been focusing on solving bugs, optimizing game functions, we understand that all you guys have given enough patience and tolerance to a game in the early access stage, in fact, whether it is the voice of support or skepticism, they are the best encouragement for us, thank you!

It's gratifying to see that after spending a lot of time and effort, the team and the game have changed a lot. After several updates and maintenance, we've resolved a lot of game issues and are on track with the Roadmap to release new content.

However, we know there are still some tricky issues left to be resolved. We have sorted them out and made plans, and we are now responding to some of the issues that you are most concerned about.

[h3]Helicopters will crash and explode if they are suddenly dropped while in flight, is there any improvement to this situation?[/h3]
  • This situation has been adjusted on November 3, version 1.0.11 after the update: when driving a helicopter, if you encounter a drop, the helicopter will slowly land on the ground, and there will be no more crash and explosion.


[h3]I've already got a lot of skins, when will I be able to use skins?[/h3]
  • Skins have been developed and will be added in the next version. When you use the workbench to create items, you will need to select the corresponding skin appearance (which you already have in your account warehouse).


[h3]Are there any plans to support FOV adjustment?[/h3]
  • We have completed development of support for adjusting FOV, which will also be implemented in the next version update.


[h3]Are there any plans to add an option to adjust gamma?[/h3]
  • Yes, there will be support for adjusting brightness and FSR/DLSS/XESS settings in the next release.


[h3]In PVP beacon protection, it is also possible to lure monsters to cause damages against other players, is this going to be adjusted?[/h3]
  • It will be the same as PVE, during beacon protection time, NPCs can't deal damage to buildings within the beacon protection range.


[h3]Regarding the buildings ownership, when the squad member who placed the beacon leaves, other people can't interact with the squad buildings within the range, are there any plans to make some changes to this setting?[/h3]
  • We have no plans to change the way that buildings within the range of a space-time beacon belong to the beacon's owner for the time being. However, we are working on a squad impeachment function, so that if a squad member is not online for a long period of time, the other squad members can gain access to that member's permissions through impeachment.


[h3]Can we increase the squad size limit?[/h3]
  • Yes, we have already included "increase squad size" in our development plan, but it will take some time.


[h3]Can I repair my vehicle?[/h3]
  • We plan to add vehicle repair factories in the near future, so players can drive their vehicles to the factories and have them repaired.


[h3]Loot bag is stuck in a gap and can't be picked up after a character dies, is there any way around this?[/h3]
  • In the future, we will add a feature that allows players to consume specified materials to retrieve props dropped after character death with the help of a workbench of some kind, but of course this operation will have a cooldown time limit.


[h3]What measures will be taken against cheating?[/h3]
  • We have zero tolerance for cheating, we have already released the first batch of banning announcements on November 2, and will release ban list from time to time, this work will be carried out for a long time. Meanwhile, we are continuing to strengthen and improve the protection mechanism in the game, to ensure a fair and healthy game environment is the ultimate goal.


[h3]Recruited followers are currently limited in their functions, will special talents be added to followers in the future?[/h3]
  • Currently, recruited followers have only one single function, but we are already working on expanding the talent system of followers, which will enhance their functions in manufacturing, traps, vehicles, and so on. In addition, recruited followers may come with recipes for exclusive items (not unlocked through the tech tree), and these talents and recipes will be randomly assigned according to certain rules, and the relevant functions are currently under development.


[h3]What will be the future development for PVE casual players?[/h3]
  • The game plans to add a planting gene system, the most direct benefit of cultivating good genes is that it can increase crop yields, and at the same time, seeds with excellent genetic characteristics will be more resistant to cold and no longer be affected by the low temperatures of the snowy mountains, and the growth rate will be faster. However, the cultivation process requires more patience. In addition, the need for one-click planting will be fulfilled in the future, so planting will no longer be a laborious task.


We will make regular updates to fix bugs, adjust game balance, and optimize server improvements. We have established dedicated bugs report channel and suggestion channel in Discord for you. If you encounter game problems or have any good ideas and suggestions, you are welcome to exchange feedback there!

[Alpha Test Server Updates] 11/9/2023

In response to the feedback of The Front Early Access, we are sparing no effort to fix the problems and optimize the adjustments, and have completed the maintenance work of version 1.0.12 update for the Alpha Test Server on Nov 9, 2023 at 02:00 UTC.

How to enter alpha test:
1. Exit Steam, restart.
2. Right click The Front in your Steam Library, and choose properties.
3. Choose Betas-Beta Participation- Alpha test official server.
4. Update your game, and choose [Alphatest] to start the game.
