The Halloween Update




Greetings Scapers,

The nights are drawing in and the Witching hour is upon us, what better time to announce some very exciting features on our new Halloween Update.

Lots of you have asked us for a mode where you can just freely build a Terra with no win or lose conditions, so you’ll be pleased to know our new Creative Mode will give you an infinite number of buildings in a Kingdom game to build whatever you like, get creative!

Additionally, Card Recycling now allows redundant cards to be recycled for points and there’s the addition of a Finalize Game option’ which gives you the flexibility to Complete your Terra whenever you feel like it with open moves and all cards in hand converted into points (and experience!). Also in our Halloween update are leaderboards ingame, new unlockable content for banners and building re-skins, and of course for a limited time only, spooky goings-on with pumpkins and witches.

[h2]Halloween Update Features[/h2]

[h3]Card Recycling[/h3]
Useless or redundant cards in hand can now be recycled to score points (less than when played)
Finalize Game option.
If the player has done enough in kingdom mode, has to quit a game early or there is no way to progress further, they can end the game themselves. In this case, open moves and all cards in hand are converted into points.

[h3]Creative Mode[/h3]
You asked, we listened! You can now start any Kingdom Terra in Creative Mode, in which you have an infinite number of buildings available to hand. There are no win or lose conditions, only beautiful building!

[h3]Advanced Leaderboards in-game[/h3]
Best lists can now be viewed in the game (previously steam overlay). There are three sortings: global, friends, around.

[h3]More unlockable content[/h3]
More banner elements, building reskins and much more.

[h3]Pumpkins and Witches (timeboxed)[/h3]
Look for witches riding their brooms, pumpkins in the world and more.

Good Day fellow Scapers,

One of the many aspects of TerraScape we continually evaluate is the game's presentation to you, the player. Over recent months we’ve been really happy with the level of feedback, ideas and suggestions for TerraScape, and that includes how the game looks, not to mention the vibe it gives off (we like it cozy). You will have probably noticed we’ve made some visual enhancements to TerraScape without radically upsetting the charm and visual appeal that won so many of you over.

As you may have read in the Meta Update news post, details like our ‘Wuselfaktor’ where you’ll see people in the game moving into lonely Terras, and things like weather systems and cloud shadows all add a little bit more detail to the game.

We received several complaints over players being able to create a setup in which they receive an immense amount of draws, then spam the map with Longhouses to for demolish cards and place high valuable buildings over an over, thus dominating the leaderboards.
Our temporary fix: All Infrastructure buildings receive a new building quality, which has a much higher demolish penalty. We also need to reset some Leaderboard data to guarantee a fair competition.
We are working on a new way of receiving the demolish card and other special cards long term. Additionally we have some further plans for the Infrastructure Deck (which we will not spoiler yet). But until then, we hope the temporary fix reduces the frustration for our Leaderboard-Hunters.
