Spell Disk 0.5.4c

  • Adjusted the shield to also be affected by the player's defense value. This change will fix invincibility frames issues for shields too. Taking a lot of hits at the same instance won't remove all shields at once.
  • Optimized and reworked the hammer's charge attack wall detection mechanism. Ideally, this change will make the hammer charge attack no longer be stuck to the walls and have the exact same control feeling as the old system.
  • Corrected inconsistent pixel size on the player health bar and shield bar UI.
  • Added a stamina bar beneath the HP bar. Some player feedback indicated that it was difficult to see the stamina bar in the middle of a fight. This made it challenging for players to determine whether they had enough stamina to initiate a dash. Therefore, we focused on improving the glance value of the UI: it will have a white color when the player doesn't have enough stamina and a green color when the player has enough stamina. Having a screen-stationary UI bar to indicate dash availability and the minimum stamina threshold at any time would reduce the frustration experienced by not knowing how much stamina is available.

Spell Disk 0.5.4b hotfix

  • Buffed copycat outfit's stun behavior to only receive a great stun for damage from enemies. Traps and elemental ailments (fire) will no longer stun the player, preventing potential stun-locking issues.
  • Fixed an issue where the hammer's charge attack did not have physical type tags. We also checked all other charged attacks, but only the hammer was missing the physical type tag.
  • Fixed an issue where the warrior outfit's sound was not occurring on its first instance.
  • Adjusted the explosion graphic for the pumpkin head accessory to make it appear more like the pumpkin itself is exploding.
  • Added more control in the wardrobe. You can press dash to select the outfit and press inventory to close the wardrobe.

Spell Disk 0.5.4a

  • The contents of the settings menu have been rearranged to make it less overwhelming.
  • We overhauled the game settings section of the settings menu. This change was made to create more space for additional features in the settings menu. Now, you should enter the game settings panel to adjust your game-related settings.
  • Fixed an issue where pressing the option/ESC button on the settings menu selected the key config button instead of exiting from the settings scene.
  • The game will attempt to obtain the correct resolution one more time, which may prevent the incorrect resolution display error (correct resolution was set, but incorrect resolution was shown as being selected in the setting menu).

  • Adjusted the hammer's wall detect range to be less prone to getting stuck on the wall.
  • Adjusted the order of the code sequence when obtaining mana through the thunder halo accessory to catch some unexpected race conditions. This is more of a temporary solution to the issue, as we weren't able to consistently reproduce the error to verify the solution of the issue. We'll work on fixing it.
  • Removed the affliction-related upgrade mods on the Mana Shot spell. If you already had a run that had a Mana Shot spell with an affliction upgrade, please abandon the run instead of continuing the run.
  • Updated the deranged item pool to remove some of its disk-related artifacts, as it cannot benefit from their effects.
  • Fixed some typos on Bard's glove in certain languages.

  • Adjusted the graphical pivot issue with the katar weapon.
  • Adjusted graphical issues with the scythe weapon.
  • Adjusted graphical issues with the copycat outfit.

Spell Disk 0.5.4 Update

  • Added new outfit and accessory:
  • Copycat outfit
  • Cat Ears accessory
  • We've been developing some extensive content updates for the next 0.6 version major update, so new outfits and accessories will be slowed down for awhile.

  • Removed physical type disks from the survivor mode's Pyromancer item pool, as physical types were being converted into fire damage as well.
  • Adjusted wall colliders in certain levels to account for hammer's charge attack.
  • Adjusted the timing of the hammer's charge attack for disks and artifacts being called earlier than intended (changed from the point of the jump to the point of actual ground impact).

Spell Disk 0.5.3f

  • Switched the UI position of the upgrade and recycle buttons on the inventory panel. The recycle button, which has the default binding to LB, is now on the left, and the upgrade button, with the default binding to RB, is on the right. While suddenly switching up the UI location isn't what we initially intended to do, we believe experienced players would have become accustomed to their controls enough not to rely on the UI, and new players would be less likely to confuse the two controls.
  • Fixed a graphical issue where the wardrobe's circular UI would hide the player's shadow in the Root Chamber lobby.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the dialogue audio would play earlier than intended, which was most obvious in the tutorial.
  • Fixed an issue where echo blades created charge attacks with unintended values, causing unexpected behavior with axe and hammer charge attacks.
  • Fixed an issue with the Old Mage's Hat. While it was functional even in the autocast mode, it was sometimes challenging to notice its effectiveness due to the nearly instant casting. We introduced a slight delay in the spell creation to differentiate the artifact's free weapon spell casting.
