Spell Disk 0.4.4 patch

  • New boss added: Spore golem for the Grotto stage.
  • Some settings sensitive to the device, such as resolution, framerate, and vSync, will no longer be saved onto the save data. Instead, they will be saved in a separate file named "SpellDiskDeviceSetting.es3." As a result of this change, you may need to reconfigure your settings after the update.
  • Improved the legibility of the texts in Key Configuration, Settings, Tutorial, Tutorial Objectives, Game Mechanics, Item Info Panel, Action Prompts, Level Modifier, Descriptions, and Game Result screens.
  • Added an option to separately configure the spell sound volume in the settings. You can adjust spell effect sounds without affecting other sound effects in the game.

  • Fixed an error where progressing from the base mode to the survivor mode through a cutscene could sometimes disable the item information panel.
  • Removed some unusable artifacts from the survivor mode's weapon item pool.

Thank you for playing Spell Disk, and thank you for your support and feedback!

0.4.3e patch

  • Enhanced the legibility of small text within the game that was located inside the stat panel, item info panel, and weapon choice panel in the Root Chamber. Text will now truncate, meaning that "EXPLOSION" will appear as "EXPLO" instead of displaying the entire text in a small font size. This update also includes a slight optimization of the game's UI elements.
  • Fixed a rare issue where players could become frozen in the Root Chamber without any corrupted data. If you experienced problems with player movement in the Root Chamber, this fix should resolve the issue.
  • Addressed various issues with the "mana shot," a default spell item that only becomes available once the entire item database is depleted.
  • Also fixed the save issues with the default items, which were: "Mana Shot" for spell items, "Health Lost Disk" for disk items, and "Rubbish" for artifact items. While they were normally unobtainable, they were causing some issues to players who did obtain it somehow.
  • Corrected the behavior of the Shadow Hood artifact, which was correctly increasing critical hit damage but failing to display the critical damage numbers.
  • Boss treasure chests in the base mode will now drop at a faster rate.
  • The "Tree Branch Chamber" cutscene, which triggered the first time you beat a run with a new weapon, will now occur only once upon your initial victory.
  • Adjusted the time-based enemy leveling system. Enemies will now continue to appear until the end of the level, rather than stopping 2 seconds before the timer expires. This adjustment prevents issues where the time-based level wasn't correctly triggering the victory drums and adds one or two more enemies per time-based level.
  • Modified the size of inventory control instructions for certain languages.
  • Introduced an auto-cast icon on the end screen.

Spell Disk 0.4.3d update

  • Adjusted some attack signal patterns of base mode enemies. Enemies that move along with the attack motion will be indicated by an arrow pattern inside the signal, while enemies that will not move will have a solid color. It's a work in progress, so enemy patterns will receive more holistic and consistent signals in later updates.
  • Auto-casting will be disabled after clearing the level in the base mode. Spell sounds were disrupting to some players and may have caused some issues when the spell was cast right as the elevator finished ascending and unloading the scene.
  • Added a blue outline indicator on the weapon spell slot. It will provide a better visual indication that your weapon spell is ready compared to the previous transparent vs. full-colored icon. The indicator will have a fast fade duration to minimize flashing images.
  • Off-screen enemy indicators will now reflect their current color instead of their base color. Elite enemies with different coloring will have their color appearing on their respective off-screen enemy indicator.
  • The Survivor mode boss at the 15-minute mark will drop a chest upon defeat in the endless mode.
  • Fixed the spin sound of Warrior Captain boss not disappearing upon defeat. Also, fixed enemy pattern sounds that were not receiving distance volume (fire wizard's fire and red knight spinning).
  • Fixed the worm caller minion spell. They will no longer rotate in strange directions upon being summoned. Also, they will no longer receive negative modifier effects (heal nearby enemies on death, explode for damage on death).
  • Being slowed from affliction or traps will no longer also slow down the hammer's charge attack marker movement speed. You can no longer 'flick' the hammer's charge attack marker off the wall. That was an unintended behavior from checking for wall colliders.
  • Fixed an issue where the first dialogue sound was generating an unnecessary log.
  • Fixed some typos and other outdated descriptions in certain languages.

Spell Disk 0.4.3c hotfix

  • Fixed a bug where the mouse was registering menu input an additional time on certain conditions. On certain mouse configurations, the left mouse click was registering input more times than necessary, resulting in multiple attempts to load a scene. This sometimes caused the player to be stuck on the loading screen while the player was active behind the scenes, and possibly caused a lot of other issues behind the scenes. Thank you for your reports and feedback.
  • Elemental affliction disks now work with the player's elemental affliction from enemies and self-affliction.
  • Reworked the worm caller to be more efficient by making it a survivor-mode type enemy. They will no longer show an HP bar and elemental icons, and will not perform pathfinding calculations; they will simply always move toward the player. Additionally, the minions will now degenerate their health over time to reduce the chance of crashing the game due to infinite stacking. Due to this change, the game can handle significantly a lot more minions at once.

Spell Disk 0.4.3b hotfix

  • Reverted normal mouse behavior to no longer be constrained within the window. Additionally, we have added an option in the settings menu to enable or disable mouse lock mode.
  • We have removed the minimum resolution requirement from the resolution settings. Initially, we had set a minimum resolution in the settings due to certain graphic issues and blurriness at lower resolutions. However, recognizing that some players prefer lower resolutions, we have removed this limit. Your screen's lowest possible resolution will now be included in the list of available options.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when you skipped the elevator rise sequence in the Root Chamber or Tree Branch Chamber. If you exited to the menu while the player was rising from the elevator and walking toward the center of the room, the game would throw an error. The result was the camera not focusing on the player, among many others. Thank you for your report and feedback.
