5.6.2 Now Available

A new patch has been released for the public version of Crimson Veil.

This update addresses several game-breaking and progression-blocking bugs that were reported by the community. Save files from versions 5.6 and 5.6.1 should remain fully compatible.

Please check the version number on the title screen to confirm that you're running the latest build.

Taking a Much-Needed Break

Hey everyone.

Now that the latest version of Crimson Veil has been released to the public, I wanted to take a moment to make a separate, personal announcement.

I’ll be taking a two-week break from posting and from social media in general. The truth is, I’ve been feeling mentally burnt out for quite some time—especially outside of game development. As many of you know, I work on Crimson Veil entirely on my own. While I do have a few amazing testers and a community that offers ideas and feedback, the writing, coding, art, and management falls on me.

Even during vacations, I’ve struggled to truly step away. I haven’t given myself a real break in a long time, and lately, that’s been catching up with me. I’ve been feeling consistently low, and not just because of development—it’s been a tough few months personally, too.

So, for both my own well-being and the future of the game, I’ve decided to take a full two weeks off. No posts, no updates—just time to rest and reset. I’ll still be reachable through Discord if something urgent comes up, but otherwise, I’ll be offline.

When I return on May 4th, I plan to reopen commissions. I know many of you have been waiting for that, and I think shifting gears for a bit will help me recharge creatively. (I could also use the extra funds...) Once commissions are cleared, I’ll dive back into work on the next major update: Chapter 4-V of the Vampire Route. This is a story I’ve been eager to tell for years now, and I can’t wait to share it with you all when it’s ready.

Until then, thank you for your continued support, and I hope you’ll understand my need for this short break. I’ll see you all again on May 4th.

The latest update is now live on Steam and Itch.io for Windows and Mac!

Go download it now and check out the latest content in the vampire route!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 4/13/25

This week, I managed to finish updating the Crimson Veil walkthrough to version 5.6.1! You can check it out here:

The guide now includes detailed information for the two new contracts added in this update, along with expanded details on pets — now including the skills they learn as they level up. I’ve also added the locations and treasure contents of the gold chests that are now accessible, as well as the locations of new ones that will be included in the upcoming public release.

As always, please continue to send me your thoughts, feedback, and any bugs you encounter so I can address them before the game’s release next Sunday. Also, if you’re interested in being added as an NPC in this upcoming version, be sure to become a Tier 4 patron by Thursday, April 17th. After that, any new NPCs will be added in the following update.
