I hope you all enjoy the latest stories! Thanks as always for playing!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 3/30/25

This week, I shared a playable version of the game with my testers! They’re currently helping me go through everything to make sure there are no game-breaking issues, and they’re also giving me valuable feedback on the story, characters, and all the new additions in this update. Their input is already proving to be incredibly helpful as I work on final polishing.

I don’t have any new images to share today, but since we’re now in the testing phase, I can confidently say that the next update’s release is imminent. Please hang in there just a little longer—the latest chapter of Crimson Veil is almost here.

Until next week everyone!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 3/23/25

Just a short update this week! I’ve spent the past few days finalizing some of the unfinished rooms in Basilisk’s Hollow, tightening up the script, and importing/scripting a few key scenes. It’s all coming together bit by bit.

Thankfully, I’ve got a full week off from my day job, which gives me a great window of time to really focus. If all goes according to plan, I’m hoping to have everything finalized and a working version of the update ready to send out to my testers by the end of the week. After that, I’ll be giving them a few days to comb through it and provide feedback so I can fix up any remaining issues.

Not much else to say right now—just that we’re very close, and I’m really excited for you all to dive into the latest content in Crimson Veil.  That’s all for this week—until next time, everyone!

WEEKLY UPDATE!! 3/16/25

This week has been all about tackling smaller tasks and refining various aspects of the game. I updated the in-game picture gallery, which now features a total of 161 illustrations! I also completed the missing bad end scenes for the enemies in the Dryad quest, adjusted battle difficulty for some of the new enemies, giving them a better variety of attacks and stats for a more balanced experience. Additionally, I created new character portraits for Eve, adding fresh expressions for both her human and vampire forms.

On top of that, I’ve added another quality-of-life improvement to the battle UI. Now, not only is the font for damage values updated to match the game’s main font, but players will also get clear indicators when a skill is strong or weak against an enemy. Here’s a preview of how it looks in action:

Weaknesses and resistances have always existed in the game, but they were often too ambiguous. This small update makes combat feel more intuitive by giving players better feedback on their attacks.
Lastly, I want to share a final new illustration from this update—a snippet of Effie’s bite scene!

The full version is now available for all $5+ patrons in the Crimson Veil Discord server’s Hall of the Hunters channel, with a Patreon post coming later this week.

WEEKLY UPDATE 3/9/25

This week, I wrapped up the last of the illustrations needed for this update, which means I can scratch one more major task off my to-do list! One of the drawings I finished was Liora’s bite scene—here’s a preview below:

If you haven’t already checked it out, Bad Ends: Enemy Archives is still available for patrons as well!

This latest comic dives into some of the game’s lesser enemies—Ghoul, Nosferatu, and Wight—bringing them to life in manga form. Be sure to take a look if you haven’t yet!

Now that the art is out of the way, I can fully shift my focus to RPG Maker and tackle the remaining tasks. Up next: importing the script for the second quest, creating those events in the game, tweaking encounters for balanced difficulty, writing and implementing bad ending scenes, adding discoverable loot, and polishing/testing everything. It feels like a lot, but without having to jump between programs, I’m hoping to mentally streamline the process… or at least try to!

That’s all for this week—until next time, everyone!
