Fossilfuel 2: Spy Games DLC (FREE)

Hello, all you dino-shooting horror fans!!

I have something special for you today, the "Spy Games" DLC!

What is it?


With the latest update, 1.2.0, you get the Spy Games DLC, accessible directly from the "Extra" content section in the main menu!

Prepare to immerse yourself in a vast and expansive open-world island map, where you will step into the shoes of the anti-hero spy, Natalya, as she embarks on a thrilling mission to infiltrate the heavily guarded Sierra base during the events of Fossilfuel 2.



Drawing inspiration from the beloved Choo-Choo Charles, this DLC introduces a trolley the player can use to get around the island, with an exhilarating twist: a relentless, menacing albino Spinosaurus named "El Blanco" roams the island hunting the player. But this isn't any normal Spino, El Blanco is massive and has insane speed and durability.

With this DLC you get 3 new achievements to hunt down.

A treasure map with gold at the X!

El Blanco:
Take down the albino spinosaurus.

Finish the DLC.

Patch v 1.1.0 Steam Deck & Freeze Frame Bug Fix

Hello everyone,

Valve has passed Fossilfuel 2 for Steam Deck. Please note the game was not built for Steam Deck, but players can change the settings to run on Steam Deck.

To get the game to run on Steam Deck


Set screen to 1280 x 720. Performance hindrances were observed on the default graphical profile. Manually setting the options to medium or patato allowed for a suitable experience.

Only the input device that engaged it will be recognized. This forces users to have to restart the game to regain controls of the Steam Deck built-in controls as the game does not allow you to return to the title screen and also doesn't provide options for switching input devices.

Horde Freeze Bug


I believe I have fixed the freeze frame bug on the horde map, or at least reduced its chances of happening to a great amount. There was a memory loop that was happening, and I tried to re work that. I tested it vigorously on my computer after the update and I didn't get the freeze finally, but I can't guarantee that the bug is totally gone as the loop is technically still there just done in a different way.

Please also be sure to update your computer graphic card drivers! Especially if you have Nvidia!

Game changes


There is now a max limit to the number of helper mercenaries the player can buy in horde mode.
You can only buy helper mercenaries 5 times. This will force the player to use them in a more strategic way, and entourage players to use the turrets or buy other weapons on the horde map vs spamming mercenaries.

Patch v 1.0.9

This is a small patch with some tweaks to the Horde mode.

The cost for the mercenaries will adjust for the Primal difficulty to 300.
It will remain as is on the other difficulties.

There was a bug with the difficulty not saving on the Horde mode selection with a recent patch, this is fixed.

***Note***
There is a tricky crash bug in the Horde mode that I am trying to hunt down. I am aware of the bug but I am having some issues locking it down as it is not showing up on the logs. I will continue to work on this.

Patch v 1.0.8 Minor tweaks from user bugs

Hello everyone,

I have been taking some time away from the computer but here are a few issues that have been raised in the forum which are now fixed.

-The Horde mode doesn't use a transition checkpoint now. When you open horde it shouldn't erase your story mode auto save.

-There was a bug in the lab if you got the empty vial, died and came back the puzzle wouldn't work. This is fixed.

-The Vsync before was off by default, but said "on" and it had to be toggled off / on to actually be working. This is fixed.

-The Goliath AI was a bit buggy in the Lab. He should be a bit more smooth now and not get "stuck."

-The Goliath can now attack you when you are on stairs, before he could not as the hit detection didn't slope up.

Patch v 1.0.7 Horde adjustment

Hello everyone,

I have gotten some feedback about the horde mode and wanted to address it.

The following changes have been made:

-Horde would randomly crash, this should be fixed now. Please report if it continues to crash.

-Horde mode will dynamically get harder based on how good you are. The better you play, the harder it gets. This is on top of the pre-selected difficulty.

-There was a bug where the Blights would get lost if you were out of sight on the horde map, this is fixed.
