Death of a Wish’s largest-ever update is coming this Fall!
Martyr Mode is an ultra-challenging new way to play that challenges players to plunge into the depths of Death of a Wish’s combat to achieve new heights of mastery.

Martyr Mode transforms Death of a Wish’s main story into an ultra-challenging, scored challenge filled with free-form combat and thoughtful challenge.
In Martyr Mode, the cumulative score of each mandatory encounter is recorded and factored into your final score. Bonus points are rewarded for completing optional objectives and taking on Challenge Cards.
The start of each track will present players with three Challenge Cards to pick from. Challenge Cards introduce new rule modifiers that mix up combat and increase difficulty. These include rules such as:
Each Challenge Card will introduce more challenging rules, but grant greater score bonuses during a run. Challenge Cards will stack cumulatively over the course of a player’s entire run, so it is critical to make deliberate decisions about which cards to take on and when. Escalating the risk can provide great rewards, but only if you can survive to complete them.
There are 40 challenge cards in all, and an infinite range of ways to mix and match them creatively to tune a run for a high score. How will you rise to the challenge?

- Comeback - Upon recovering from a status effect, enemy attacks are 100% more powerful for 10 seconds.
- Break Invuln (ii) - Enemy invulnerable after recovering from Break for 4 seconds
- Lost Grace (ii) - Reduces non-S Rank Corruption reduction by 75%.

The Apocrypha Update is coming to Death of a Wish on 07/22! This major new update adds new features to the Familiar Garden area. Let's break them down!
Death of a Wish is filled with devious bosses that will pose an exciting challenge to all sorts of players. The Apocrypha Update will add a Boss Rush mode that allows you to challenge all of them in a single battery of fights with limited resources. Every boss is scaled for endgame levels, ensuring that early game bosses still pose an exciting threat. Can you survive until the end? 
The Apocrypha Update adds a new room where you can browse and play songs from Death of a Wish's dark soundtrack. Take some time to appreciate the bleak instrumentation and drones of Paradiso.
