Dawnfolk just hit 400 reviews!

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Dawnfolk just hit 400 reviews, and it's still holding strong at 95% positive! Huge thanks to everyone who took the time to leave a review. Whether short or detailed, every one helps massively with the game's visibility. Now onward to 500 reviews! If we can keep that 95% average, Dawnfolk will earn the legendary "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating. [/p][p][/p][p]Take care,[/p][p]- Darenn[/p]

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

🎉 The big news? Modding is here!
You can now create your own mods or download community-made ones to customize your experience and expand the game’s possibilities.

This update also includes:
  • Tons of bug fixes thanks to community reports
  • Major performance boosts (it could probably run on a toaster now!)
🔧 Featured Mods

To kick things off, I’ve made two official mods:

The Light Spire: A powerful new science building for the Light Craters.

The Icylands: A snowy, challenging new level featuring the Iskaar, a new race that you can ally with and customize.

There’s also a cheat menu mod made by a community member, and more mods are already in the works!

I can’t wait to see what kind of creative ideas you all bring to life.

📥 How to Install Mods

  1. Head to the Steam Workshop
  2. Subscribe to the mods you want
  3. They’ll show up in-game automatically! You can enable or disable them via the Main Menu into Options and Mods.

✏️ Want to Create Your Own Mod?

I’ve put together a detailed guide with examples to help you get started. Whether you’re tweaking balance, adding content, or making something totally wild, it’s all possible now.

Thanks again for playing and supporting the game.

Take care,

New Playtest! (coming modding update)

Hey everyone!
I'm running a new playtest for 1 week to test the new mods of Dawnfolk! 🎨 ⚙️
The goal is simple: Install the mods and play the new level I made using modding tools for the game and let me know what you think and if you find issues or bugs.
  • Light Spire adds a new science building for the light well with incredible powers!,
  • Icylands adds a new levels including a snow biome and a new race: the Iskarr. You can specialize the Iskarr to get more resources.,

I've worked hard on optimizing the game so it can run smoothly a on toaster, it's possible you'll find new bugs that were not there before. 😅
HOW TO PLAY:
  1. Switch to the playtest branch of the game on Steam (properties->beta->playtest, see screenshots below).
  2. Go to the workshop and subscribe to the mods.
  3. Run the game, and make sure the mods are enabled in the main menu in "options > mods",
  4. Press the play button, go at the top and play the "icyland" level.

Have fun!
