New Features:
- Added clipboard item for VR players.
- Added finger animations for VR players.
- Added brightness settings.
- Added tutorial texts to understand general game mechanics; you can toggle them on/off
- Added additional Screen Space Tutorial texts for every item; you can toggle them on/off
- Added a whiteboard with default controls to starting area
- Added item respawns for unlocked items (as a preparation for Early Access Launch)
Improvements:
- Due to a bug in the engine, all objects and houses were always rendered when you looked into their direction, causing a huge performance loss. Culling now works as intended, resulting in higher frame rates and stability.
- Upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.2
- A lot of textures have been changed to consume less VRAM.
- Added a symbol to indicate auto saving.
- Players can now sprint out of crouching.
- Characters will pull their hands back if you are near a wall
- Pressing escape now exits interactables.
- You can now see who is ready in the lobby.
- Redesigned settings menu, should be more understandable now.
Bug Fixes:
- Clicking on the "Find Sessions" button now triggers finding sessions as intended.
- Clients can now see current tasks in the lobby.
- New joining clients can now see the current loaded save game and difficulty in the lobby.
- Potential fix for low frames in the lobby that could cause VR widgets to still be visible in non-VR.
- Settings menu: Some settings had wrong default values, which have been fixed.
- Settings menu: DLSS/TSR now deactivate the scaling options when turned off.
- Flashlight and tablet item no longer stutter when turning the camera.
General Changes:
- Reworked death system, no maze anymore, and should be easier to understand. If every character dies, the losing screen is triggered immediately instead of teleporting players to the zombie area.
- Shorter respawn time for players who died.
- Disabled Instanced Stereo, since it somehow caused crashes for people playing non VR
Language additions:
- Added Chinese translations
Known Issues:
- AMD GPUs may experience visual glitches (everything is pink and/or bright).
- VR players can't change the hand they hold an item in without dropping the item.
- VR players crouching only changes the animation to crouch but not their actual height (this means VR players can't actually crouch).
- VR players that die and drop items can't see their hands until they pick up and drop another item.
- VR players may experience camera shakes when the host is playing in non-VR.
