Update notes for 0.1.11.1
It's Wednesday, my bug eaters!
For this week we have a whole buffet of balancing changes, and it is more important than ever to eat as many bugs as you can!
New:
With the balancing changes we made, we hope that the game will feel slightly easier overall.
We also wanted to make the end-game more interesting by scaling your stats with score, giving you a good motivation to eat those bugs even after you level up to the max!
But most of all, we wanted to improve some of the tongues and items that were underused, such as the rotatongue, the poison tongue, and the plaster.
We hope that you enjoy it!
If you do, or if you don't, please let us know either way! You can reach us here on Steam or over at our Discord server.
We're trying our best to make the game as enjoyable as possible to everyone, but it is a tricky process and we need all the help and feedback we can get.
As always, it is a good idea to back up your save file before starting the game after an update. If you want instructions for where to find the save file you can read the details below.
[expand] On Windows you can find the save file here: %AppData%/../LocalLow/Les Grenouilles/Froguelike
And on Mac here: ~/Library/Application Support/Les Grenouilles/Froguelike
The file you want to save a copy of is called "FroguelikeSaveFile.bin"

Time to munch!

For this week we have a whole buffet of balancing changes, and it is more important than ever to eat as many bugs as you can!
New:
- Almost all passive, in run, items now scale with score when upgrading the item to its max level (the score is the amount of eaten bugs in the current chapter, the number that is shown next to the small fly in the top-right corner of the screen)
- Less XP needed to level up for higher levels
- Passive health recovery is now active at all times
- Plaster in the shop is less powerful
- Plaster as a run item is more powerful
- Curse tongue gets a damage boost every level-up but its curse chance never decreases. The curse is still active even at the tongues max level
- Now the curse is active for either all or none of the enemies hit by the tongue
- Instead of writing "level max" when upgrading an item or a tongue in a run it now says either "level 5" or "level 10", still in red color as before
- The froggy grail is now maxed out at level 5 instead of level 3 (in a run), it now gives a total of 5 revives instead of 4
- Vampire tongue gives less health overall (always ~5% of inflicted damage) and it doesn't increase with level-up
- Vampire tongues get bigger and cover more area at higher level
- Rotatongue now damages close bugs too (the whole tongue is now dealing damage instead of just the tip), it also has a slightly stronger knock back effect
- Poison damage now stacks! If you inflict poison to a bug that is already poisoned, the poison damage increases
- Poison tongue is now cone-shaped and therefore it covers a bigger area
- Upgrading the poison tongue will no longer give you more poison tongues
- Poison tongue damage increases more when leveling up,
- Poison damage is now affected by tongue damage boosts from the Mighty shop item and in run item
- Plants are easier to eat and give more XP
- The "curse" from the figurine has been simplified: it now only increases the spawn rate of bugs but neither their health nor XP
- The spawn rate increase is now capped at 4x instead of 2x
- The Figurine effect has been increased
- Final wave of chapter "Toxic truth" has been made slightly easier
- Fixed a bug where bounties would ignore damage taken
With the balancing changes we made, we hope that the game will feel slightly easier overall.
