Patch 0.2.165d

Hello Survivors,

We have a patch for you today that addresses a number of different issues with the game. We’ve also done a weapon balance pass, increasing the strength of some under-appreciated tools of destruction. Balancing weapons is a continuous task throughout development, so if you feel like your favorite weapon is still lacking some oomph, stay tuned.
Improvements & Fixes:
• Improved the Overclock UI communication
  • UI adjustments for steam deck (in an effort to get Steam Deck Verified)
    • Fixed overlapping biome goal text on pause screen
    • Fixed class button overlap
    • Fixed too big weapon icon on class mod page
  • Made status effect damage numbers more legible (they now animate differently from the rest)
  • Potential fix to save games being reset after a game crash
  • Typo fixes in source language
Weapon balance:
• All status effects:
    • Changed tick time from 1 to 0.5. This means that elemental effects stack up and trigger their damage faster, but also fall off faster. This is a buff to all status effect weapons
  • CRSPR Flamethrower:
    • Increased rotation speed slightly
    • Increased the amount of burn stacks applied
  • Zhukov NUK17:
    • Increased reload speed
  • Subata 120:
    • Increased reload speed
  • “Bulldog” Heavy Revolver:
    • Increased damage, reload speed and range
    • Reduced fire rate slightly
  • Cryo Cannon:
    • Increased amount of Cryo stacks applied
  • Corrosive Sludge Pump:
    • Increased status effects stacks on impact
    • Decreased status effects stacks on ground zone
  • Krakatoa Sentinel:
    • Reduced the amount of burn stacks
    • (With the changed tick rate for all status effects, the Krakatoa Sentinel has overall been buffed)
  • Neurotoxin Grenade
    • Increased initial damage and amount of corrosive stacks applied

Hotfix 0.2.152d

Hello Survivors,

Edit: We had an issue with the menu when we launched this hotfix. A hotfix to the hotfix has been deployed and everything should be working again.

Another round of hotfixes have landed. This time, a couple of soft locks and run-ending bugs have been taken care of. See details below.

We are still monitoring / investigating crashes and save data issues.

On the topic of save data, we are now seeing ONE of the causes that can lead to this: Some players do not have enough space left on their Windows drive for the game to save the file to disk.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF SPACE ON THE DRIVE WHERE YOUR USER FOLDER LIVES. The save file itself doesn’t take up much space, but Windows can be very tricky here, it needs plenty of room (gigabytes) because of pagefile upsizing etc. Clean out some old dusty stuff if you are having save issues. This will fix some cases of the save wipe issue, but there are some still some left for us to track down.

Down the line, we will look into a more graceful way of handling this problem, by announcing the error when it happens in-game, and giving the player a chance to retry saving after freeing up space.

Improvements & Fixes
  • Fixed a run-ending bug where the "Upgrade UI" could soft lock if you accidentally pressed B quickly followed by A on any of the upgrade screens (Level Up, Overclock, Supply Pod, and Shop). A big thanks to our community for helping to make a solid repro case here.
  • Fixed a bug where the Drop Pod could land in “a void” on entry if you skip through the Shop screen fast enough (run-ending)
  • Fixed a bug where the Drop Pod could land outside the map when coming to pick you up (run-ending)
  • Fixed a bug in 'groundzone damage tracking' which would over-report damage numbers by a lot on the end screen damage report (Incendiary Grenade, Sludge Pump, Viper Drones, Neurotoxin Grenade, Overclocked Impact Axe, Overclocked Hurricane, Overclocked Plasma Charger).

Deep Rock Galactic auto-shooter nixes upsetting 'die like your mother did' voice line so as to not 'remind some players of tragic events in their life'

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor—DRG's dwarf-themed Vampire Survivors-like—is yanking out one of its more ah, questionable voice lines. In patch notes for the game's 0.2.146d hotfix, released Tuesday, the gang at Funday Games announced they'd be nixing the "Die like your mother did!" line that dwarves sometimes shout as they mow down enemies...

The Road Ahead

Hello Survivors,
An amazing launch!
What a week it’s been. First of all, a huge thanks to all of you for making the early access launch exceed our wildest imagination. We never imagined the game would sell more than 500.000 units in just a week. We are humbled, grateful, and very very busy working on the game.

Let's talk about the future of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor.
The Road Ahead
The game launched in Early Access one week ago, and we've deployed a couple of hotfixes since. More hotfixes are inbound in the coming days and weeks to address various issues with the game. A massive shoutout to everyone who takes time out of their day to send us bug reports and error logs that help us track down these bugs. We know there are still a ton of things to fix, but thankfully, that is what Early Access is for, and we hope you will stick with us on this journey.

On our Discord there is a #feature-suggestions channel where you can type /feature to add an idea that other people can upvote. If you think your idea might already exist in the channel, be sure to use the search function before adding it. There’s also channels for discussing feature additions, and one for general feedback about the current state of the game. We try to read everything.

Work on the first content update is already well underway. The sharp eyed Scouts among you will have noticed a Roadmap on the Steam store page. We'll post it below for good measure. The top part of the roadmap is a list of things we'd like to add to the game in the coming weeks and months, but these sections are very much subject to change, and they are not in order of priority.

We’ve already gotten a sample of your spirited and passionate thoughts around the game, and we hope you’ll continue to give your honest feedback. We’re still learning to navigate the ins and outs of early access so bare with us, and know that we are doing our best.
