Neuroshima Hex - Origins and story

Hello!

Welcome, dear strategists and warriors of the wasteland!

In today's devlog I will bring you some facts about HISTORY from Neuroshima - an in-game plot like a history of the beginnings of this system!

Origins and Tabletop Success

Neuroshima Hex was conceived by Michał Oracz, a Polish game designer, and first released as a tabletop game in 2006.
It was based on polish RPG Neuroshima.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world where factions vie for dominance, the game quickly gained popularity for its innovative mechanics, tactical depth, and engaging gameplay.
The tabletop version's success led to the development of an expansive world with unique factions, each with its own playstyle and lore.

Transition to Digital Realm

The success of Neuroshima Hex on the tabletop naturally led to its expansion into the digital realm.
In 2010, creators released the first digital adaptation of the game for iOS and Android platforms.
This marked the beginning of the game's journey to screens of all sizes.

Remember when The Witcher was just a book? And now there are games, series, gadgets, etc.
I hope Neuroshima will be that big one day :D

Neuroshima Hex in Baked Games!

The Neuroshima Hex universe continued to expand, with various adaptations and expansions released over the years.
These adaptations maintained the core gameplay while enhancing the experience with new stuff :D
And now we will prepare you a PC version! :D

The Story of Neuroshima Hex

At its core, Neuroshima Hex is set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by a global conflict.
Four distinct factions—the Hegemony, the Moloch, the Outpost, and the Borgo—vie for control over what remains of civilization.
Each faction boasts its own strengths, weaknesses, and unique units, contributing to diverse and challenging gameplay.
Sooo... which one do you choose? :D (my fav is Outpost for playing but i like the Moloch design)
The Hegemony, a militaristic force, aims to establish order through disciplined tactics and advanced technology.

The Moloch, a cybernetic collective, seeks to assimilate and evolve, wielding technological prowess and sheer brutality.

The Outpost, survivors of the wasteland, employ guerrilla warfare and adaptive strategies to survive.

Finally, the Borgo, a mutant horde, relies on chaotic aggression and sheer numbers to overwhelm their foes.
Those were 4 basic factions but as mentioned Neuroshima Hex gained a lot of new armies in the recent years! More info in next devlog ;)

Neuroshima Hex - Mastering the Art of Strategy and Conquering with Armies!

Hello!

Welcome, fellow strategists and warriors of the wastelands!
Is this devlog name sound kind of a title of the book? :D

We're excited to dive deep into the heart of Neuroshima Hex, where cunning tactics and powerful armies clash in an intense post-apocalyptic showdown!

A Glimpse into the Wastelands

In Neuroshima Hex, you find yourself in a shattered world, where factions fight for control in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event!
What event? can't tell you all the things ;)

As the commander of your faction, you must outmaneuver, outwit, and outlast your rivals on a hexagonal battlefield, where every decision counts. The choice of faction will shape your strategy; each boasts unique strengths and strategies to employ.

Selecting your favourite Army

Choosing yourself a powerful army is the key to dominance. (well every army is powerful, it more depends on "who-is-strong-against-who")

You have at your disposal a lot of of units, technologies, and special abilities, each with its own distinct role on the battlefield.
Some armies are easy to use byt a bit weaker and some are made in thought to reach a pro players

Want details? Read about history and lore of each army in the main menu. You can also view each army's cards (or hexes???)

Unraveling the Hexagonal Strategic Landscape

The battlefield is unforgiving and dynamic, just like the wastelands themselves.
On a hexagonal grid, you'll need to navigate the terrain with utmost precision.
Positioning your units wisely is crucial to protect your key assets (especially HQ) while countering enemy advances.
Even first ever turn is important! Why ? Because in first turn players decide where to set their HQ - main building that they must protect at all costs!! (don't worry it has at least 20 HP :D)

Ready, set and play! Don't forget that you can also turn units!

Strategic Depth in Every Turn

In the post-apocalyptic world, you must be swift and decisive.
With a wealth of actions at your disposal each turn, you'll need to move your units strategically, activate powerful technologies, launch battles, and reinforce your units.
Most things in Neuroshima Hex aren't luck-based. Only cards (or hexes??? :D) you will recieve on your hand are randomized and ofc in the beggining there is a coin flip: who will start first (im always losing it, come on how its it possible its 50/50 chance !!!)

The Journey Ahead

As we venture further into development, we promise to keep you informed and updated.
Tell us what kind of devlogs you wanna see!
 • A essay about every army, their strategies and lore?
 • More technical stuff about game making?
 • Details about personal experiences with boardgames and history of Neuroshima?
 • A bit of everything? :D

Tell us and we will try to meet your expectations ;)
