Pack your bags and get ready to start a new life in the countryside because the Tales of Seikyu demo is coming to Steam Next Fest on February 24th!

[h2]Welcome to Seikyu[/h2]
Experience 3 beautiful days under the Seikyu sun. Get a tour of the town from mayor Yui Oda, check out your brand-new farmhouse, restore Inari shrines, visit the ruins, run errands, make friends, go on dates, and enjoy a welcome bonfire. Sounds like a lot? Well that's not including fishing, cooking, combat, decorating, exploration, and more!

It'll take some serious skillz to squeeze everything into those 3 days, but don't worry about doing it all in one go! We've designed the demo to be a replayable adventure, so if there's something you didn't get a chance to do, you can simply start again if you want to. The world is your oyster. Well, the parts of it we've included in the demo are, at least (～o￣3￣)～

[h2]Demo-Exclusive Armour[/h2]
If experiencing Seikyu before our Early Access launch wasn't enough, we've added in a set of demo-exclusive armour. All you have to do is play the demo to get your hands on this limited-edition Serpent Armour Set, the perfect outfit to celebrate the Year of the Snake!



[h2]Carry Over Your Saves[/h2]
Start your adventure early and carry over your save files when we hit Early Access this spring! That's right, you'll be able to pick up right where you left off, giving you a head start on making friends, romancing your favourite characters, and sprucing up the farmhouse. There's plenty to explore and lots to learn about the wonderful world of Seikyu.

Of course, carrying over saves is completely optional, so there's no pressure if you want to start a brand-new adventure at Early Access. It's your demo, after all ~(￣▽￣)~*

Excited? Ready to talk tactics when it comes to winning the hearts of your favourite villagers? Want to chat about all things demo-related? Well, you're in luck. We've got a dedicated spoilers channel over on the official Tales of Seikyu Discord for you to discuss your demo experience. We figured we'd keep this separate from the main chat out of respect for the folks who might not get the chance to play the demo. Simply hop on over to the community Discord, introduce yourself, and get chatting! You can also discuss the demo on the brand-new Tales of Seikyu Reddit!

Does it come as a surprise that one of our favourite days of the year is all about love and romance? Probably not! After all, we’re developing a game with 14 romanceable NPCs just waiting to sweep you off your feet. With so many villagers to romance, we were overwhelmed with options for celebrating Valentine’s day. In the end, we decided we’d love to create a custom piece of official artwork featuring everybody’s favourite crow Yokai warrior, Nyotengu! ^3^



Is anyone else blushing? No…just us? (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶). We’ve been sharing some fun Valentine’s Day content over on our social media channels too, so make sure you’re following us on X, Bluesky, and Instagram! Oh, and we’ve just wrapped up an awesome Valentine’s fan fiction competition over on Discord.

As another Valentine’s treat, we thought we’d give you the opportunity to get to know some of the romanceable villagers a little more. We’ve grabbed some quotes directly from the game* that we think best represent each villager’s personality. We'll share Anna's below but you can view the full 14 character quotes in the gallery here. Developing an indie game is an incredibly fun and rewarding process, but what makes it truly magical is watching the community grow along the way. We love you all! o((>ω< ))o

Hello everyone, we hope you’re having a great January and that you’re looking forward to the launch of Tales of Seikyu in Spring this year! As you may already know, Tales of Seikyu is being developed by a Chinese team, and Chinese New Year is a very significant time in our calendar.

We’ll be taking a little bit of a break to celebrate, and we wanted to wish you all a happy New Year, whether you celebrated at the beginning of the month or you’re joining us in celebrating now. 2025’s new year marks the year of the Wood Snake and we enjoy many fun traditions to mark the occasion, from putting up New Year couplets and watching firework displays to visiting friends and family and making offerings to our ancestors.



As it is such a special occasion, we’ve been working with a very talented artist to create a Tales of Seikyu painting to ring in the new year. We hope you enjoy “Tales of Seikyu乙巳” by Hiduki Miwa and that you’ll have as much fun watching the art-creation process as we did! We’ve also created a handful of mobile and desktop wallpapers using this artwork that you can download here.

It’s time for the second instalment of our two-part series on Romance in Tales of Seikyu! We covered seven of our romanceable NPCs villagers in part one, and now it’s time to take a look at seven more eligible bachelors and bachelorettes.

Romance is one of the key features of Tales of Seikyu, and each character has their own unique personality, interests, and aspirations. No two villagers are the same, and it’s up to you to get to know them and decide which villager has captured your heart. There will be a total of 14 romanceable characters at 1.0, so let’s see if part two contains the person of your dreams!

[h2]🎤 Yoni [/h2]



The bright-eyed starlet who dreams of making it as an idol. Yoni is a deer Yokai who struggles to assert herself and seems to have an unusual relationship with Kababa, the manager of the casino. There’s no doubt that Yoni is talented, but her naivety makes her an easy mark for Seikyu’s less-savoury characters who’d happily exploit her hardworking nature for their own gains.

This people pleaser could really use some help with finding her confidence and setting some boundaries so that she can focus on making her dreams become a reality!

[h2]🔮 Anna [/h2]



Anna is a quiet girl who works in the casino and has a far-off look in her eyes. With such a distant personality, getting to know this daydreamer won’t be easy, but could there be more to her than it seems? It’s hard to tell if Anna is purposefully evasive or simply too meek to make a connection, but one thing is for sure: she is yearning for something beyond her humble role at the casino.

It’ll take plenty of time and dedication to uncover Anna’s true nature, and there’s no telling what you might find when you do. Could you become a pair of star-crossed lovers or will your differences be enough to drive you apart?

[h2]👒 Miss. Ama[/h2]



An elegant tailor with an air of celebrity about her – did you know that she used to be a famous actress? Miss Ama’s past is filled with drama, both on and off the stage. Perhaps this is why she chose to settle down in the sleepy village of Seikyu? Her shop sells only the finest garments and her skills with a sewing needle are second to none.

It’s true that Miss Ama is drawn to the finer things in life, and some might even describe her grandiose and melodramatic, but she isn’t as haughty as she lets on. Her time as a star has left her a little jaded and perhaps even closed off to relationships, but while she may have retired from acting, there could still be room for romance in her future if the right person comes along…

[h2]🎨 Liliana Shibata[/h2]



Liliana is a gentle artist who loves painting flowers and spends her days searching for rare blooms to capture on canvas. She is Yohji’s twin sister with a similarly inquisitive personality, though she is far less interested in the politics of Seikyu. Instead, her curiosity is satiated by interacting with nature and getting to know the world around her.

Hungry for perfection, Liliana puts everything into her artwork and can be self-critical as a result. Her constant diligence doesn’t leave a lot of room for romance, but a little support and a push to paint for herself rather than the approval of others might be the way to win her heart.

[h2]📜 Leon Achyard[/h2]



Leon is Seikyu’s priest and teacher. As he was once a great explorer, his travels, stories, and history are a thing of legend (and all of it has been immortalised in his best-selling autobiography “Adventures of Leon!”). With such a rich past behind him, he now uses his wealth and knowledge to help Yui manage the town – bringing both vitality and joy to Seikyu!

It is said that Leon’s stories are sometimes a little long-winded, and he can often become too wrapped up in his own research. However, he has a big heart and is passionate about maintaining harmony in Seikyu. He may be wise, but surely there is someone out there who can win his affections and teach this old sage a thing or two?

[h2]🌊 Mika Fukuhara[/h2]



Mika is a water-loving Yokai with long, lifeful hair, and a traditional sense of style. She runs the local spa in Seikyu – a place to relax and unwind after your adventures. There are rumours that the rejuvenating properties of the spa waters may have a hand in Mika’s radiance and youthful appearance, with her true age being unknown.

Though beautiful, Mika is a humble woman who doesn’t really put herself out there. Along with the mystery surrounding her age, not much is known about her Yokai form, and some even speculate that her beauty may be a ploy to distract from something frightful beneath the surface. Getting to know this mysterious beauty may not be risk-free, but it could lead to a truly rewarding romance!

[h2]🔨 Sasaki[/h2]



A kind and caring jokester who masks his anxiety with an easy-going personality. Sasaki runs the local furniture store, which he inherited from a kindly old lady who looked after him as a kid. Although it may be a little bit more than he can reasonably handle, he’ll always give it a go. He enjoys working with wood, which contrasts his somewhat clumsy nature.

An all-around good guy with a heart of gold, Sasaki is well-intentioned and uncomplicated. He tries his hardest to be self-sufficient to avoid being a burden or inconveniencing others, but he could really use a hand! Can you be the one to help him make sense of it all?

Winter is a magical time in Seikyu, a thick blanket of snow covers the countryside and your farmhouse feels extra cosy and inviting. We’ve been working hard on developing Seikyu ever since our playtest and things are running smoothly behind the scenes. It’s been wonderful to hear your feedback and we can’t tell you how much we appreciate any and all input from our community.

As we get closer to Christmas, we know that many community members will be celebrating or taking a break for the holidays. Things might be a little bit quieter for us too, since our community managers will be enjoying some well-deserved rest until the New Year. So, from all of us here at Tales of Seikyu, we wanted to say happy holidays and to let you all know how excited we are for the year to come (✿◡‿◡).
