Hi Everyone,

A new interim update for Rugby 25 has been made! Patch notes are as follows:

Improved Pods Passing
Pod passing out of the ruck have been improved. Includes resolution of incorrect player selection for passes, incorrect players having a button prompt and resolution of accidental box kicks occurring when attempting to pass.

Adjusted Defensive Touchdown Controls
Moved the Defensive touchdown to the Y button, the A button will now allow a punt out of the in-goal area.

Resolved Lineout Throw Issue
Resolved cases of the choice of 3/5/7 player lineouts not being applied correctly.

Corrected Community Club Downloads
Resolved occurrences of downloaded community Teams not having the players on the roster.

Stability Improvements
Game completion and progression issues have been addressed.

Added Pods
Introduced the initial implementation of pods where forwards will now form pods at rucks. Use LT/RT for forwards and LB/RB for backs.

Added Stadium Creator
The Rugby Academy now includes The Stadium Creator, custom stadiums can be created, shared and used in Play Now matches.

Added Localisation
Language support has been implemented in the UI for French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, and Japanese.

Improved Formations
Teams will line up in better formations during scrums and mauls.

Improved Lineouts
Incorrect lineout sizes should no longer be selected.

Improved Stability
Gameplay stability has been improved, particularly with online play.

Hi Rugby Fans,

We thank everyone for your patience while we have worked through some unpredictable issues that have delayed delivery of Online gameplay in the previous EA update.

We are now ready to add the first pass of online into the EA, along with a number of other improvements, with full patch notes below:

Added first pass of Online Quick match
The first pass of EA Online quick match play with 5 minute halves utilising any of the Early Access teams

Added Camera Field of View slider
Adjustment of the field of view for the gameplay camera has been added to the settings menu, this allows the gameplay camera to be zoomed in or out from the default.

Added Offside Line Options
Added a setting to disable the display of the offside line or player indicators.

Improved Lineouts
Removed occurrences of a lineout ending with player tackles instead of a maul being formed

Improved Animation
Further gameplay animation has been added, both for gameplay animation and various cut scenes.

Improved UI
The flow of the UI has improved in some areas and changed to prepare for future features. Resolved issue with missing setting for sock height.

General Stability Improvements
A number of improvements to gameplay stability have been included in this update.

Dear players,

We are happy to announce the release of Early Access 5, our Fifth Major Release during Rugby 25 early access period.

Notes for what is included in this update are outlined below.

Improved Mauls
Mauls have been reworked in this update, improving animation fluidity as well as the gameplay experience.

Improved General Gameplay
Several general gameplay improvements have been made in addition to the ones added during the EA4 Interim Updates, these include improving the passing out of rucks, quick passes, catches, touch line avoidance and more.

Added URC Competition mode
The United Rugby Championship, including the 16 teams and 2024-25 fixtures, is now available in Competition mode. A number of these teams will feature photogrammetry visuals, with additional photogrammetry coming in future updates.

Added Stadiums
Several additional stadiums have been added in this update, including the officially licensed Cardiff Arms Park, Scotstoun, Kingspan Stadium, Swansea.com Stadium and Dexcom Stadium. Further MLR stadiums have also been added.

Added HUD Elements
A meter showing control over the ruck has been added, as well as HUD to identify those offside – both with an offside line shown during rucks and indicators on individual players.

Improved Graphics
Various tweaks have been made to the graphical appearance of the game, including work adjusting the grass, and various aspects of lighting and player detail.

Improved Stability
Several improvements to resolve non-progression issues during gameplay have been implemented in this update.
