Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred brings back 2's best zone, then makes it "richer"

From the shimmering sands of Diablo 3's Caldeum to the bloodstained, defiled churches of Diablo 2's Rogue Encampment, Sanctuary is easily one of the most macabre, fully-realized worlds I've ever encountered in my [redacted] years playing videogames. My black, rotting heart has always found a home on Kurast, the jungle that frames Diablo 2's third act, and the earthly home of my favorite Prime Evil, Mephisto. As someone who's always loved the shaman-style aesthetic, Kurast was always equal parts beautiful and twisted, but seeing it reimagined in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred truly took my breath away. Perfectly weaving native iconography with emerald green yet oddly eerie foliage, Diablo 4's Kurast - and Nahantu as a whole - is my favorite Diablo zone ever made.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred review - Diablo 2, but even better

It's a cold, snowy night in Sanctuary. Crowds have gathered around a stone plinth in Kyovashad, hushed into silence. Reverend Mother Prava stands before them, illuminated by flickering torchlight and, of course, the supposed reverence of the now-fallen Inarius. It feels almost like nothing has changed: Inarius and Lilith are dead, hatred's heart has been pierced, and, like a mindless flock, Sanctuary's denizens are thanking the High Heavens. From the onset, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred instills a sense of hopelessness; a reminder that our Wanderer's journey will always end in bloodshed.

Best Diablo 4 Spiritborn build

What is the best Diablo 4 Spiritborn build? The first Diablo 4 expansion is nearly upon us, bringing with it new bosses, items, and most importantly, the Spiritborn class. Hailing from the jungles of Nahantu, the Spiritborn's incredible versatility stems from its expert level hand-to-hand skills, Spirit Guardians, and deadly Glaive.

Added with the first Diablo 4 DLC - for which you should read our Vessel of Hatred review - the Spiritborn is one of the best Diablo 4 classes for anyone who wants a flexible class in Diablo 4 that can truly do it all. While you can - and should - dedicate yourself to one or two spirit guides at level 15, you don't have to, so you can utilize all four spirit guides if you so wish. Having jumped straight into the Spiritborn class as soon as we could, here are our favorite Diablo 4 builds for the Vessel of Hatred character type.

There are a lot of expectations surrounding the new Diablo 4 expansion, Vessel of Hatred.
