After a year of silence, BlizzCon is officially back

Of all the many events I've attended for PCGamesN, BlizzCon is still the most special. Having played Blizzard games since I was a kid, I'd always wanted to venture out to Anaheim to immerse myself in the worlds I hold so dear. Azeroth, Sanctuary, Overwatch 2's futuristic Earth - my childhood playgrounds brought to vibrant life. But BlizzCon was canceled following the Xbox merger, with its future somewhat uncertain. Today, Blizzard has confirmed that the iconic convention is coming back, but we'll have to wait a little longer.

Diablo 4 Season 8 is bringing back the challenge as the Lord of Lies returns

Diablo 4 Season 8 plans to toughen up the Blizzard RPG's endgame, and you'll have the chance to try out the upcoming update and D4 patch 2.2.0 in just a few days via the PTR. In its latest campfire chat, the developer lifts the lid on the long-awaited return of Belial - Lord of Lies, one of the seven Lesser Evils, and a key antagonist in the Diablo 3 campaign - as he makes a fresh bid for Sanctuary. Alongside the first glimpses of his arrival, Blizzard promises much more challenge than in the current season, but with a wealth of new 'boss powers' to mix up your builds.

Diablo 4 is now in its seventh season - how the time flies, eh? The ARPG is continuing to uphold its end of the live service bargain with lots of new content, while players continue to pile into the game despite the fairly recent emergence of a major rival in Path of Exile 2. However, in a new interview, Diablo's general manager Rod Fergusson has described traditional, seasonal battle passes as "antiquated," hinting that some changes could be on the way for Diablo 4. He also says that while armor sets and other cosmetic items have been largely grounded in its hellish fantasy aesthetic so far, Blizzard wants to start being a bit more "flamboyant" and experimental.
