Astrometica News

Subnautica clone Astrometica is the most flagrant rip-off I've played in a year that also contains Palworld

Astrometica is Subnautica in space and to developer BeryMery's credit, the game makes zero effort to hide this. It's right there in the dog Latin of the title. It's got Subnautica's premise of being a shipwreck survivor starting afresh from an escape capsule, piecing together the backstory signal by signal, database entry by database entry. It's got Subnautica's core loop of exploring while dealing with the problem of decreasing oxygen, scavenging fist-sized chunks of raw material and scanning wreckage for blueprints, then crafting items and gear back at base.

Astrometica Demo Available - October Dev log
🚀 Astrometica Demo Now Available!

Hey everyone,
We're excited to announce that a new demo of Astrometica is now available! This demo features around 1-2 hours of gameplay, offering a glimpse into the latest improvements and tools we've been working on.

Please note, this demo is smaller than the prologue. Its main purpose is to gather valuable feedback from the community. So if you try it out, make sure to join our Discord server and share your thoughts! 🙌

🌍 Supported Languages: Currently, the demo is available in English, German, and Polish, with more languages to come as we continue to work on localization.

Here's what we've been working on:
• 🔥 New Intro Cinematic
We’re thrilled to introduce a brand-new cinematic intro to Astrometica. This intro sets the stage for your adventure in space, with our main character trying to escape from the mysterious event that occurred on the Moxora Spaceship. After fleeing in an emergency pod, they witness the ship from afar, knowing that a new and uncertain journey is about to begin.

We wanted to convey the emotion and weight of this moment in the final shots, with a subtle soundtrack playing in the background to emphasize the start of this character’s voyage.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Our partners at Hunters Studios have been working with us to bring this new intro to life. Here are some snapshots of their fantastic work:
• đź’» Blueprint to C++ Conversion
On the technical side, we’ve been optimizing the game by converting many of the Blueprint systems in Unreal Engine to C++. This conversion will not only improve the game’s performance but also allow for more sophisticated mechanics as we continue to build out the game.
• ⛏️ Asteroid Deposit Miner
Introducing the Asteroid Deposit Laser Miner that allows you to automatically mine minerals from nearby asteroid deposits. Set it up, and watch as it gathers resources endlessly, letting you focus on exploration and survival.

Take a look at the concept art:

 • 🎶 New Soundtracks
What’s Next?
While you’re exploring the demo, we want to assure you that we’re continuing to work hard on polishing the game and adding more content. We’re also working on trailer that will announce our release date soon.

We’re fully dedicated to giving you the best experience possible. We're pouring all our efforts into crafting Astrometica to the highest standard that we can, and we kindly ask for your trust and patience. We want to make sure we deliver the best game we can, and we truly appreciate your support along the way.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and we hope you enjoy the demo! If you do, please don’t forget to add Astrometica to your wishlist on Steam. Your feedback and support mean a lot to us.

Astrometica - September Dev log
Hi everyone,

In this devlog, we want to share the latest updates on Astrometica!
First of all, last month, we mentioned that we might need some funding to hire voice actors for better storytelling in the game. We want to clarify that we don't have a funding issue; we simply wanted to enhance the narrative with a larger budget. However, after receiving a lot of feedback from the community, we’ve decided to add these features after the Early Access release. Thank you all for your feedback and support!

We're also excited to share a brand-new 3-minute gameplay video featuring our new tools—the Scanner Tool and Scrapper. Check it out here:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Additionally, we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve completely finished the game from a mechanical perspective. Moving forward, our focus will be on polishing the game and adding more content.

We’re also working on a new trailer, which will include our release date announcement. We’ll share it as soon as possible, so stay tuned!

Astrometica - August Dev log
Hey Space Explorer,
We want to share an update on what we've been working on in the last month, but before that, we have an important message from our team.
Important Message
In recent updates, we’ve created some amazing space environments in the game, as you can see in the screenshots below. However, we’ve been facing some funding issues.

As a small indie team, our dream is to make a captivating space exploration game. To enhance the immersive experience, we need voice actors for Astrometica. Unfortunately, we have some budget and timing constraints.

We really don't want to use AI voices in our game because we care deeply about its quality. Therefore, we need additional funding.

We’re asking for your support. We have many space stations in the game that need voices, and we also want to ensure we have plenty of content for our Early Access launch, which requires more budget.

It's not just about voice acting; with more support, we can create amazing systems in the game, like spaceship combat systems, automation systems, and immersive environments.

Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section or on our Discord server. If we get a positive response from you all, we will start a campaign for support.

Here are some cool screenshots. With enough budget support, we can fill these with space stations, NPCs, and more content:

But hey, we know you want to see the updates we’ve done last month. Here they are:
Inventory Stacking System
Yes, we did it! You can now stack your resources in the inventory. It wasn’t as easy as we thought because we had to rebalance all game systems related to the inventory.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Fabricating Update
You can now increase or decrease your craft amount in fabricators.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Caves Visual Update
We completely revamped the caves in the game, and now they look amazing.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
New Original Soundtracks
Our sound designer did a fantastic job with the soundtracks. Here are three of them:

Astrometica - Stargazer Soundtrack
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Astrometica - Anomaly Soundtrack
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Astrometica - Crystal Levitation Soundtrack
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Astrometica - Traveler Soundtrack
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
New Containers
We added some new containers. Here are videos showing two new containers:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Interior Update in Vertical Corridors
We want to show you how the interior looks in the vertical corridors:
Some New Buildables

Replicator Device:
With this, you can replicate any item you want, but you need to have a replicator cell.
Package Station Fabricator:
You can fabricate packages or unbox packages with this device.
Delivery Station:
You will receive item deliveries from the Moxora company with this device.
Music Player:
During your journey, you will find music discs around the world which you can listen to with this device

And much more that we don't want to spoil just yet. We hope you enjoy our development progress over the last month.

Thank you for your unwavering support and feedback. Together, let's embark on an unforgettable adventure among the stars!
