Bubblemancer Marble Särönen

Greetings,

It is I, Xermillion Glass, come to talk of a new family member who has been recently rescued from whence she came. I speak, of course, of the feline Bubblemancer Marble Särönen.

You, my dear reader, might be wondering where the vehemence in my writing has gone when speaking of a Särönen. It has gone nowhere. Marble is an adopted child of one Aana Särönen. The story goes that Aana was traveling through the slums of Kolmoil, the stronghold of the Grund - Särönen bannermen for only a few decades, when she found an urchin entertaining herself with bubbles. What it was that caused Aana to choose to adopt the child, even Marble cannot say, but she is happy that she did.

Marble's life as an urchin was about exactly what you would expect, save the fact that she learned early on that she was, what she called, a Bubblemancer. Now, the creation of bubbles is something that almost always requires blackblood - water and air, but she had such exquisite control over water, that she could stretch a thin layer of it into the proper shape at such a speed that it simply worked. It's quite fascinating, really, I've never seen another pure water mage attempt something like that. I've asked her to demonstrate on a dozen ocassions and she always obliges me, though I must admit, that I am no closer to truly understanding that I was the first time that I witnessed it. But, I digress.

Marble is seeminly perpetually in a good mood. She is very playful and seems to have known Willow before the events that led her to our doorstep.

She was murdered by one of her older cousins. Not directly, of course, the Särönen rarely get their hands dirty if they can avoid it. Koskan Särönen, a cursed name if there ever was one, ordered her murder. This is particularly intriguing as this Koskan is a mere eight years old. He is the current heir to the Särönen seat, but that alone does not explain why someone so young would order something such as murder. Perhaps he is simply trying to grow into his station early. Or perhaps his father mentioned Marble in an ill light and young Koskan thought it a way to please his father. This is mere conjecture of course, as only the young one can really know what was going through his mind.

In any case, Marble awoke as the acursed do and headed to Riilavkava getting lost in the process.

Main

Marble's main weapon is her scythe, which as she has mentioned before is simply an ornate stick that she attaches a blade of water to. As one would, she swings the weapon, slicing at her foes.

From the monkey, she can learn to: bolster her armor, stun those struck momentarily, or create a water reverb, which strikes again after a short delay.

Secondary

Marble's control over water is something to see as she is able to compress a huge amount of water into a single bubble, then pop it and force the water out like a jet.

From the shroomer, she can learn to: vastly increase the amount of harm caused, create water explosions around those that are hit, or summon two smaller offshoots, which deal less damage than the original.

Dodge

Marble is also capable of creating a hard barrier out of her bubbles, which is truly astounding, if I may add. To make something hard out of something soft like that. I drigress though. This allows her to protect herself from some harm and knock those that she strikes with her bubble shield out of the way.

From the shroomery, she can learn to: increase the harm caused, but lose the ability to knockback, grealy increase the knockback force, or be able to reuse it at a moment's notice.

Ultimate

Marble's most amazing ability is her final line of defense. She creates hundreds of bubbles in a field around her which harm all those inside. The amount of damage caused increased as the age of the field increases.

From the monkey, she can learn to: knock everything affected away from the center of the field, inverse the damage variance, or apply a short stun with each hit.

And that is Marble, quite the talented mage, if I do say so myself. Quite possibly the most talented and not a blackblood at that!

I will return with another report when another of our vast brood has been found.

Until next time,
Xermillion Glass
