KIWF2 Update #2 v0.6.1.5s

Hey Exterminators!

Update #2 has arrived along with KIWF2's Early Access Roadmap!!

[h3]Save Sync[/h3]
  • New feature that allows clients to sync their save file with the host.
  • This will overwrite your current save slot, so use with caution!
  • Always starts disabled when you join a co-op session.

[h3]Accessibility[/h3]
  • Created a new sub-menu for Accessibility settings.
  • Moved Arachnophobia settings to this new sub-menu.
  • Added an option to disable strobe effects (only seen in the vents on the Vindicator)

[h3]Early Access Roadmap[/h3]
  • Added the Early Access Roadmap to the main menu.
  • The roadmap also automatically pops up when you return to the Vindicator after beating the game.
  • Some small text changes to make it more clear that Dimension Iota Eight, CyberCore, and Alpha One aren’t available yet.
    - Screens on the Vindicator now show Iota Eight and CyberCore as “Coming Soon”
    - Screens referring to Alpha One say “Error, Missing Datachip”, then “See Control Room”. After you complete the game, they switch to “Coming Soon”

[h2]Balance Changes[/h2]

[h3]Spider Hunt[/h3]
  • Exterminators can no longer see spider nameplates.
  • Spider idle sound spatialization fades away at close distances (only in Spider Hunt)
  • The Tracker weapon can no longer spawn in Spider Hunt.
  • Added more weapon spawns to the Vindicator and HEM maps.
  • Changed the Exterminator vs. Spider ratio on all maps:
    2-4 players: 1 Exterminator
    5-7 players: 2 Exterminators
    8 players: 3 Exterminators

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]

[h3]Tracker[/h3]
  • Vacuumed spiders no longer have tracker blips
  • The Secret Sniffer now actually works and has an audio cue to go with it.
  • Unlike the Secret Sniffer Pro, the regular Sniffer upgrade doesn’t take verticality into account; you can use this to your advantage.

[h3]Rocket Launcher[/h3]
  • Fixed a bug where the UI displayed your ammo incorrectly when guiding a rocket.
  • Fixed a bug where making a sharp turn with a rocket would cause your next rocket to spawn with the same turn speed.
  • Fixed a bug where standing close to level geometry would sometimes prevent the guided rocket spawning, but still use ammo.


[h2]Misc[/h2]
  • Added more signage to make it clear where the Reactor is located.
  • Added more signage to make it clear where Control is located.
  • Added signage to provide hints on how to reach Control.
  • Added a few missing localization strings for objectives in Arachnitopia and HEM

Greetings Exterminators,

The very first update is here with some improvements and fixes, thank you all so much for sending us your feedback and reports, please keep them coming!

Changelog:
  • When playing co-op, whenever the host receives an achievement all clients will also receive that achievement.
  • Cleaning objects with the pressure washer is now considerably faster!
  • When playing co-op, only the host may start challenges.
  • Added a message informing players about interactions that only the host can perform (activating portals, buying upgrades, creating blueprints, and starting challenges).
  • The save slot menu now tracks your progress as a percentage.
  • Projectiles from player/spider tanks no longer spawn fires.
  • If you’re playing in an aspect ratio greater than or equal to 2.0 (width/height), the clipboard now only displays four objectives per page.
  • Explosions now work against swarm spiders and are incredibly effective.
  • Generally nerfed swarm spiders.
  • You can no longer vacuum spider eggs.
  • Potion ingredients are now automatically released when they enter the cauldron.
  • If you’ve successfully brewed a potion, you cannot cause the cauldron to explode until you take the potion.
  • Changed the location of the pressure washer to make it much harder to miss.
  • Added some invisible geometry to help Exterminators climb buildings in Arachnitopia.
  • Barrels of nuclear waste that are thrown into the ocean will return to their spawn location after a few seconds.
  • Repositioned the “Rad Cola” recipe to make it easier to read.
  • Fixed a bug where you could avoid damage during Breaker Challenges by repeatedly entering and exiting the fog.
  • Once you’ve been swarmed you can no longer jump.
  • Changed the models on the salt and pepper to make it more clear which is which.
  • Added one additional upgrade module to the Vindicator.
  • Fixed a performance hitch that occurs sometimes on the Vindicator.
  • Increased the speed of Darwin's text scroll drastically.

95% positive-rated wacky shooter gets a Steam sequel, out right now

If there's one thing millions of us hate for a reason we can't quite pin down, it's spiders. I'm sure there's something about the way brain signals bounce around my synapses that makes me uncomfortable just looking at them, but I could do with not knowing the specifics, as dealing with surprise spiders in the home is enough. Imagine then, if you will, a game where you take on these arachnid foes as they control the entire space-time continuum. This is Kill It With Fire 2, out today. At least we can bring friends along.

The day has come, exterminators.

Kill It With Fire 2 is out now in Early Access!


Here’s what you can expect to see on release:
  • Up to 4 player co-op campaign
  • Up to 8 player Spider Hunt PvP mode with 3 maps
  • Huge dimensions to explore
  • Over 10 spider types to exterminate
  • Tons objectives and challenges to complete, including ones you can die in!
  • Weapon upgrades to unlock, potions to brew, objects to clean, hidden morph spiders to hunt
  • And a total of 25 achievements to unlock!
  • Countless new items to collect, such as: Weapons, Compound X, Tapes (audio logs), Blueprints, SpaceBux, Upgrade Modules.

In future updates, you can expect to see 2 more dimensions added - Iota Eight and Alpha One - along with a virtual dimension known as CyberCore. Each dimension will come with new weapons, spider types, a blueprint, and a potion recipe, along with new objectives, challenges, and other odds and ends! You can also expect a big boss fight coming at the end of Dimension Alpha One. Besides that, you can expect another community event (Shoe 2.0), and of course, more spider hunt maps!

We’ll share our roadmap with you soon to keep you posted on everything Casey Donnellan is working on behind the scenes during this early access journey, so keep an eye out for more news soon.
