Screenshot Competition - Mountain View!



Welcome to the 114th War Thunder Steam Screenshot Competition!


We loved seeing all of your screenshots from last week! While many vehicles rely on their heavy armor or large cannons, small and agile vehicles should not be underestimated! The three most popular and three selected by us will get 300 GE. See the winners down below!

[h2]Let’s begin the 114th edition of our competition![/h2]

Create a stunning screenshot and submit it on the War Thunder Steam Community Hub with the tag #WTscreen114. You have time until the 12th of April to submit your screenshot.

After that date, 6 winners will be selected (3 of which will be the highest rated by the community and 3 selected by our judges), each of which receive a reward of 300GE.

[h3]Terms:[/h3]
    Your screenshot must include a player vehicle and a hill or mountain.
    You must add the #WTscreen114 tag (title cannot have any other text in it).
    Artists may only win by popular vote once per four screenshot competitions.
  • Screenshots need to be compliant with the War Thunder rules.
  • You need to be the author of the screenshot.
  • Screenshot needs to be new. You cannot use those which have previously been published or used in other competitions.
  • We will only accept raw screenshots from the game. You cannot use any editing software nor any other visual enhancements (like Nvidia Ansel filters).
  • You can use filters and settings built into War Thunder.
  • You can use the replay functionality built into War Thunder.
  • Rewards will be delivered to the author's account within 14 working days.

[h2]Mad Thunder[/h2]
  • Strong Rhino, Powerful Rhino — the accuracy of the gun stabilization when moving at high speed has been reduced.
  • Porcupine — the number of rounds in the 20 mm belt has been increased from 75 to 100. The rate of fire has been increased from 600 to 840 rounds per minute. Recoil has been reduced.
  • Strong Porcupine, Powerful Porcupine — the radius of damage caused by a direct hit from the flamethrower’s fire has been increased. Damage dealt by fire has been doubled.
  • A “Mission objectives” button has been added to the event window so that you can view the mission objectives in the hangar as well.
  • A bug that caused the message “Vehicle of the chosen crew mismatches the vehicle available at the mission start. You cannot take it.” to display, preventing the player from respawning in a vehicle has been fixed.
  • Resource icons in the Mad Thunder progression menu have been replaced with easy to understand and minimalistic icons that also match the ones displayed on the minimap in battle.
  • A bug that caused the mission objectives window to stretch on ultra-wide monitors has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused the Rage Scanner to show extracted players has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused the out of bounds alert message to display behind the resource bar causing it to be unreadable has been fixed.

[h2]Other[/h2]
  • A bug in some cases that caused the Steam overlay to not open has been fixed.
  • A bug where it was not possible to click anything in the Steam overlay in some cases has been fixed.

[h2]Mad Thunder[/h2]
  • Color differences have been added to the Mad Thunder event loot models to make it easier to visually distinguish the different types of resources.
  • Areas in the Forgotten Lands event map where you could get stuck have been fixed.
  • In the Team Battle mode, the enemy team’s extraction zones have been given an out of bounds area until the arrival of the sandstorm, where when this happens all extraction zones become available to both teams.

[h2]Ground Vehicles[/h2]
  • Black Prince — a bug that caused neutral steering to be very slow has been fixed. (Report)

Server Update 03.04.2024



[h2]Mad Thunder[/h2]
  • If you are destroyed or end a battle in a vehicle with resources, you will now receive 20% of the amount of resources carried (rounded up).
  • For each extraction, you will now receive 1 rage token which can be used in this mission to respawn a vehicle. If it is not used, you will receive it as a resource at the end of the battle.
  • The mission time has been increased from 15 minutes to 20 minutes.
  • Mule — the cost of 1 rage token per respawn has been removed.
  • Armadillo — the maximum speed has been increased from 57 km/h to 65 km/h.
  • Strong Boar, Powerful Boar — the mass of the explosive compound in the HEAT shell for the 106 mm cannon has been decreased from 3.5 kg to 0.75 kg. The explosive type has been changed from Comp. A to TNT.
  • Strong Boar, Powerful Boar — the penetration of the 106 mm HEAT shell has been reduced from 433 mm to 250 mm.
  • Boar — the spread of the 23 mm cannon has been reduced.
  • Porcupine — the spread of the 20 mm cannon has been reduced.
  • Armadillo — the spread of the 30 mm cannon has been reduced.
  • Boar — the initial velocity of the 23 mm cannon shell has been increased from 675 m/s to 925 m/s.
  • Porcupine — the initial velocity of the 20 mm cannon shell has been increased from 800 m/s to 1000 m/s.
  • Armadillo — the initial velocity of the 30 mm cannon shell has been increased from 780 m/s to 820 m/s.
  • Armadillo — the speed of aiming the gun horizontally has been increased from 20 to 30 degrees per second and from 12 to 15 degrees per second vertically.
  • Echidna — braking efficiency has been increased.
  • Armadillo — the thicknesses of the additional armor has been changed. The thickness of the front of the turret has been increased from 19 mm to 40 mm, and on the sides of the turret reduced from 23 mm to 21 mm. The additional armor on the front of the hull has been increased from 20 mm to 35 mm. The additional armor of the hull slopes has been increased from 20 mm to 25 mm.

[h2]Ground Vehicles[/h2]
  • TO-55 — a bug with the display of the flamethrower icon in the action bar has been fixed.

[h2]Sound[/h2]
  • The crews of Chinese ground vehicles have received updated voice acting.
  • The 183 mm QF L4A1 (FV4005), 165 mm L9A1 (Centurion Mk.5 AVRE) and 165 mm M135 (M728 CEV) guns now have their own firing sounds.

  • Porcupine — the speed of traversing the gun horizontally has been increased from 50 to 100 degrees per second and from 30 to 60 degrees vertically.
  • Porcupine — vertical dispersion of the 20 mm cannon has been reduced by 40%.
  • Powerful Porcupine, Strong Porcupine — a bug with the vertical guidance of the static flamethrowers has been fixed.
  • Powerful Porcupine, Strong Porcupine — control of the flamethrowers has been transferred from the gunner to the driver.
  • Porcupine — the reverse speed has been increased from 13 km/h to 39 km/h.
  • Echidna — the reverse speed has been increased from 22 km/h to 30 km/h.
  • Boar — the reverse speed has been increased from 17 km/h to 25 km/h.
  • The collision damage for Mad Thunder event vehicle wheels has been reduced.
  • For Mad Thunder event vehicles, repairing has been made 2 times faster.
