Reward for completing all 8 tasks

Special profile icon of Avigdor Ben-Gal
During the Yom Kippur War he commanded Israel's 7th Armored Brigade that held off the Syrian advance on the Golan Heights. Ben-Gal had foreseen the war two weeks before it started and began to prepare his brigade despite being laughed at. As a result the 7th Armored Brigade was the only unit in the state of full readiness at the start of the war. Their heroism and Ben-Gal's leadership were instrumental in ensuring Israel's victory over Syria.

You can immediately purchase the profile icon for Golden Eagles until November 3rd, 11:30 GMT without completing tasks. Click Nickname → Achievements → Pages of History (October).
Trophy with a reward for each task
Completion of each individual task will bring you a trophy with one of the following rewards:
 • 20-50% RP booster for 3-10 battles;
 • 20-50% SL booster for 3-10 battles;
 • 3-5 universal backup vehicles;
 • 1 day of premium account;
 • A random camouflage for ground vehicles (out of the selection of camouflages currently obtainable in game for completing tasks, or purchasing with Golden Eagles).
Other terms
• Tasks are available from 11:00 GMT until 11:30 GMT on the final day of each task.
 • Tasks can be completed in random battles, except for “Assault” mode.
October 2 — October 5

Volturno Line
The Volturno Line was the southernmost of the German lines of defense in Italy that were set up after the Allies landed there in 1943. On the night of October 3rd the British infantry forces crossed the Volturno line by landing on the northern side of the Biferno river. However, they were left without any vehicle support and had to desperately defend themselves until noon of October 5th, when their engineers managed to finally complete the bridge across Biferno. After that the Allies began their offensive, and the Wehrmacht abandoned the Volturno line.
October 6 — October 9

Valley of Tears
The name "Valley of Tears" was given to the place of a huge scale tank battle between Israel and Syria during the Yom Kippur War of 1973. A single Israeli brigade held off an advance of an entire Syrian division, having destroyed several hundred tanks during a four-day defense. When Israel's strength was all but depleted, the Syrian forces withdrew.
October 10— October 13

Battle of Cape Esperance
On the night of October 11th, 1942, an American unit patrolling near cape Esperance of Guadalcanal intercepted Japanese forces en route to shell the Henderson Field airfield. Americans took the Japanese by surprise and forced them to retreat, but couldn't stop them from unloading supplies. Two days later Henderson Field was destroyed by Japanese bombardment.
October 14— October 16

Battle of the Chinese Farm
From October 15th until October 18th, 1973, the bloodiest battle of the Yom Kippur War was fought on the eastern bank of the Suez Canal. The Israeli forces wanted to cross the canal, but were met with fierce resistance from Egypt. Both sides suffered heavy losses, until Israel used the entire might of its Air Force to support the ground units, and sent a battalion of paratroopers to distract the enemy from the rear. The namesake of the battle was an irrigation station that the Egyptians held: the Israelis mistook the Japanese writing on the machinery there for Chinese characters.
October 16th — October 19th

Tikhvin Defensive Operation
On October 16th, 1941, the Tikhvin Defensive Operation began. Its aim was to stop the eastward advance of the Wehrmacht in the Leningrad Oblast. Despite the Germans taking Tikhvin and thus severing the railway supply route to Leningrad, the operation was a success: the Soviet forces stopped the Germans from reaching their Finnish allies and completing the blockade of the city.
October 20— October 23

Second Battle of El Alamein
On the night of October 23rd, 1942, the British and Commonwealth forces that had until then been defending on the North African front went on the offensive. Thanks to their deceptive maneuvers, field marshal Rommel couldn't figure out the direction from which the attack would take place and had spread his forces. The Allies had superiority in numbers, and so the Axis powers lost most of their vehicles in the battle and were forced to retreat from Egypt all the way to Tunisia.
October 24— October 27

P-51 first flight
On October 15th, 1940, the first prototype of the P-51 Mustang, the first airplane with laminar flow airfoils, took flight. These single-seat fighter planes were widely used by Great Britain and the USA during WWII and Korean War, and by Israel during the Suez Crisis.
October 28— October 31

Budapest operation
October 29, 1944, saw the beginning of the Soviet operation to remove Hungary from WWII. Fierce fighting for Budapest lasted for three and a half months and ended with Soviet victory. Germany sent lots of reinforcements into Budapest, and that helped the Red Army advance faster during the Vistula–Oder offensive.

Project “Overpowered”

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Good military vehicles aren’t only about their characteristics: they also need to be cheap to produce, easy to repair and open to serious upgrading. A perfect example of such a machine is the legendary Po-2 light bomber. This all-round great aircraft earned the love and respect of pilots 95 years ago, and now it has become famous among War Thunder players for its phenomenal capabilities when controlled by an experienced pilot. What a surprising coincidence it is, then, that Po-2 was chosen by the Organization as a platform for upgrades in Project “Overpowered”.

Create an “Overpowered” version of one of the most amazing aircraft in the game, use it as intended, and then exchange it for exclusive vehicles of different classes. A worthy aircraft deserves worthy rewards.
From September 22nd (12:00 GMT) until October 3rd (12:00 GMT)

Collect special modifications of the Po-2 and exchange them for unique vehicles!

Rewards

Po-2M
Rank I — premium, coupon - more details

Cost: 1 Po-2 “Overpowered” aircraft.
SMS Ostfriesland
Rank V — event, coupon - more details

Cost: 3 Po-2 “Overpowered” aircraft.
Dreadnought battleship Ostfriesland combines all the main qualities of such ships: powerful main caliber guns, heavy armor and low speed.
CCVL
Rank VI — event, coupon - more details

Cost: 3 Po-2 “Overpowered” aircraft.
This American experimental light tank is protected only from bullets and fragments, but its impressive mobility and great guns make it a perfect scout and sniper.
Jaguar E
Rank VI — event, coupon - more details

Cost: 3 Po-2 “Overpowered” aircraft.
The two-seat Jaguar E is one of France's best strike aircraft. Large payloads and an excellent choice of guided and unguided weapons!
How to participate
Fight in battle! After each battle the necessary materials will go to the menu “Workshop → Overpowered”.

In this project you will collect the parts of the Po-2 from materials you get in battles, then upgrade them to the special “Overpowered” version and then assemble the unique aircraft. The more aircraft you collect the more valuable vehicles you can exchange.
Key items
Once you have enough of these toolkits you can train a team of aircraft technicians to help you build the Po-2 “Overpowered” from parts.

It’s fixed! №63

In this digest we would like to tell you about our continuing work on improvements and fixes in the game. You can find information about all updates that have been released in War Thunder on the website special section.
Please feel free to leave your feedback on these changes in the dedicated "It’s fixed! №63" thread
The full picture!

It is hard to know in advance what gear and what monitor resolution a player will use. Some prefer the widest screens available, others use three monitor rigs. In such cases, some of the War Thunder vehicles might not fit in the screen while observing in the hangar.

We moved the camera in the hangar a bit farther away to make sure you have the full view of your steel machines of war no matter how wide your display setup is!

Drag chute fixed

Many jet aircraft in the game have a drag chute that automatically deploys on landing and helps to decelerate the aircraft while braking. But, due to a bug, they didn’t work automatically for all the time! You had to enable it manually or pray for a soft landing. The bug is found and buzzed, drag chutes should work automatically now.

“Stingers” under cover

Some SPAAG vehicles, armed with the FIM-92 Stinger air defence system, such as Machbet or Ozelot, were spoiling for a fight so much that they fired the missile with the launcher tube attached. We do appreciate such zeal, but “Stingers'' would perform better alone.

Launchers are now fixed and welded to the hull, missiles may do their job confidently.
