Get the F-106A “Six Shooter” in the Sky Guard Event!

The F-106 supersonic interceptor entered service with the U.S. Air Force in 1959. This aircraft did not take part in combat operations in Vietnam, but the possibility of using it as air cover was considered. In view of this, in 1972 the fighter was modernized under the Six Shooter program, where it was equipped with an internal cannon, an optical sight and a transparent canopy. Closer to the 1980s, the U.S. Air Force switched to more modern fighters, causing the F-106s to be transferred to the National Guard, serving until 1988.
From August 13th (11:00 GMT) until August 27th (11:00 GMT), earn mission points in Air Battles, unlock stages and receive rewards!

F-106A “Six Shooter” — An Event Vehicle Jet Fighter for the USA at Rank VI
The F-106A “Six Shooter” comes to the game in its modernized 1970s variant. It features a great top speed and maneuverability, a Helmet-Mounted targeting system and a built-in six-barrel 20 mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon with 650 rounds of ammunition. It can also carry four AIM-4F/G Super Falcon air-to-air missiles and two external fuel tanks.

Among the rewards in the event is also this chest. When opened, there is a chance to receive one of the following items:
 • 50,000 - 100,000 Silver Lions
 • Silver Lion and Research Point boosters
 • Random Wagers and Orders
 • Universal Backups (1 - 3)
 • A random camouflage for a vehicle you own
 • 1 day of Premium Account
How to get all rewards
Each stage is unlocked for 35,000 mission points and brings a new reward.

Please note: Once the stage is unlocked, you will need to claim your reward manually. To do this, click on your profile, select the Sky Guard category, and click Claim Prize.

You’re able to earn mission points in Air Battles at Rank III or above in Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles. The number of mission points to complete a stage depends on the game mode and the maximum Rank of the vehicle that you use in battle. There’s a multiplier for earning mission points, which is shown in the task description in-game.

You can also earn mission points by using event vehicles that are Rank I and II. Event vehicles that can be used have the name of the event that they were obtainable in on their stat card.
Stages change every two days at 11:00 GMT: August 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st, 23rd and 25th.

Rewards are given when you complete a specific number of stages
• For 1 Stage: trophy with a random reward
 • For 2 Stages: one of the decal rewards
 • For 3 Stages: “Explosive Watermelon” Silver Chest
 • For 4 Stages: one of the decal rewards
 • For 5 Stages: “Emblem of the California Air National Guard” decal
 • For 6 Stages: unique camouflage for the F-106A “Six Shooter”
 • For 7 Stages: non-tradable coupon for the F-106A “Six Shooter”
Discounts on purchasing stages using Golden Eagles
Incomplete stages can be purchased for Golden Eagles, but if you’re significantly close to completing a stage, its price will now be significantly reduced.

Let’s say you have earned 85% of the required mission points to complete a stage, then the price of purchasing this stage will be halved. If you’re near the finish line for a stage and are at 95% progress, then the price will be reduced by five times. For example, if you’ve earned 30,000 mission points, then the price for unlocking this stage will be 499 Golden Eagles. If you’ve earned 33,500 mission points, then you’ll only need to pay 199 Golden Eagles. Remember to keep this in mind if you cannot complete a stage on time!
The Upgrade for a coupon
When you complete 7 stages, you’ll receive a non-tradable coupon for the F-106A “Six Shooter” where using it will immediately activate the vehicle onto your account. If you don’t want the vehicle and would like to sell the coupon on the Market, you’ll need the “Upgrade for coupon” item.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item can be earned in parallel with the stages throughout the event from August 13th (11:00 GMT ) until August 25th (11:00 GMT) for 600,000 mission points

After receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” item, you can convert a non-tradable coupon for the vehicle into a tradable one and sell it on the Market. The tradable coupon can be sold after 6 days from the moment it’s created.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item is valid until August 29th (11:00 GMT). Until this time, you can use it or exchange it for War Bonds. Afterwards, it’ll disappear from your inventory.

To make a tradable coupon, select the “Coupon F-106A “Six Shooter” (USA)” in your inventory and click the “Modify” button.

You can track the progress of completing stages and receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” by clicking on your Nickname > Achievements > Sky Guard. If you don’t manage to complete a stage on time or would like to purchase a stage, until August 29th from the Achievements window, you can purchase each stage with Golden Eagles which will give you the corresponding rewards.

It’s fixed! №108

[p]
Today, we’ve rounded up and will be going over some of the bug fixes and improvements that we’ve made to the game today and over the past few weeks. If you’d like to catch up on every fixed bug, then be sure to check out the changelog section on our website.

Feel free to leave your feedback on this update here

If you’ve found a bug that you’d like to report, you can do so on our community bug reporting platform.

[/p]
Turret position in the hit analysis
[p]
The hit camera displays two key elements: the target status and the projectile hitting it in the same time scale, while in reality the rotation of the turret is a thousand times slower than the projectile penetrating the barrier. The hit camera consists of two key elements: the vehicle that was shot at and the animation of that shot. In this camera, the vehicle is stationary or moving slowly, and the projectile is flying at high speed, and we’re trying to show these elements in one unit of time. Because of this, when shooting at a vehicle that was actively rotating its turret, players could see strange situations in the hit camera, similar to the projectile being reflected by the turret rotation. In reality, the projectile had time to interact with the turret armor before it turned and most likely hit one of the armor elements at a large angle, which is why there was no penetration. This is just one of the reasons for strange animations.

To avoid these types of cases, we’ve changed the animation logic. Now during the hit animation, your target is displayed static, preserving the real position of the turret and hull at the moment of impact. This will allow the interaction of the projectile and the target to be correctly displayed. The downside of this solution is the sudden movement of the vehicle’s turret to animate multiple hits (for example, from autocannons). In this case, the turret may move jerkily between the moments of impact. However, the advantages of this solution, in our opinion, outweigh the disadvantages.

[/p]
Aircraft damage model fix
[p]
After analyzing several reports and complaints, we have improved the logic of aircraft destruction when hit by aircraft and anti-aircraft missiles.

Previously, there were rare situations when a direct hit by missiles with sufficiently powerful warheads on certain parts of the fuselage that were not part of the wing could cause serious damage to the aircraft — loss of control, radar, engines — but this might not have been enough to count as an instant kill. Your target could lose combat capability but be finished off by another player, or even make a forced landing. We have added additional logic that will cause the destruction of the aircraft’s airframe (detachment of one or both wing consoles) when missiles with sufficiently powerful warheads directly hit the fuselage. For weaker missiles, such as those launched from MANPADS, a direct hit will also trigger an additional destruction check, but the chance of wing consoles breaking off will not be 100%.

It should be noted that the new logic does not change the existing rules of destruction in any way, but only supplements them.

[/p]
Improvements to the Visual weapon selector
[p]
We’re continuing to improve the Visual weapon selector. You don’t need to activate it in every battle now, as if you’ve pinned it, the game will remember your choice and it will be pinned and active in subsequent battles.

We’ve also improved the display of the weapon you have currently selected, it is now highlighted with a frame.

[/p]
Disappearing decorations
[p]
We’ve fixed a bug where in some rare cases, decorations would disappear or change their position on vehicles. Sometimes this happened after a battle, and sometimes when changing camouflage. Many players noticed this problem, thank you for your reports!

[/p]
That’s not all
[p]Check out the full list of fixes and improvements in the update notes below! Here’s some: when controlling Mirage aircraft, the third person camera has been moved away to make it easier to perform turns, the dakimakura pillow textures have been improved, and drowning in a launcher while using a Multi-Vehicle SAM vehicle no longer stops control of the radar vehicle.
