Screenshot Competition – Mighty Dragoon!

Welcome to the 138th War Thunder Steam Screenshot Competition!

We loved seeing your screenshots! Is bigger always better for cannons? Smaller caliber may get the job done, but it certainly isn’t as satisfying as a huge caliber! The three most popular and three selected by us will get 300 GE. See the winners down below!
Let’s begin the 138th edition of our competition!
Create a stunning screenshot and submit it on the War Thunder Steam Community Hub with the tag #WTscreen138. You have time until the 27th of September to submit your screenshot.

After that date, 6 winners will be selected (3 of which will be the highest rated by the community and 3 selected by our judges), each of which receive a reward of 300GE.
Terms:
Your screenshot must include any of the following: an aircraft or coastal fleet armed with 30mm or larger cannon, a tank with 120mm or larger cannon, or a bluewater vessel with 150mm or larger cannon.
You must add the #WTscreen138 tag (title cannot have any other text in it).
Artists may only win by popular vote once per four screenshot competitions.
  • Screenshots need to be compliant with the War Thunder rules.
  • You need to be the author of the screenshot.
  • Screenshot needs to be new. You cannot use those which have previously been published or used in other competitions.
  • We will only accept raw screenshots from the game. You cannot use any editing software nor any other visual enhancements (like Nvidia Ansel filters).
  • You can use filters and settings built into War Thunder.
  • You can use the replay functionality built into War Thunder.
  • Rewards will be delivered to the author's account within 14 working days.

Discount on the Yak-38 for the Anniversary of its First Flight!

The Yak-38 was the first Soviet vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft and first hovered in the air for the first time during testing on September 22nd 1970. This aircraft was built for service on the Project 1143 heavy aircraft carrier, and first landed on this type of ship in 1975. The Yak-38 was fully introduced and operated in only 1977, 231 Yak-38s were produced by 1989, and the aircraft was decommissioned in 2004.
The Yak-38 has a 30% discount!
The premium Yak-38 can be purchased at a 30% discount for 8,910 6,237 Golden Eagles.

When: From today until September 23rd (07:00 GMT).
Where: USSR > Aviation > Premium vehicles.

About this aircraft
  • The Yak-38 is suitable for attacking any sort of targets, both on the ground, in the air and even at sea. The ability to take off and land vertically allows it to improvise, playing like a helicopter while it picks up maximum speed extremely quickly. This aircraft has access to many secondary weapons, and thanks to a ballistic computer for rockets and guns, aiming at ground targets is easy to do.

Server Update 19.09.24
Aircraft
• A-10C — the inability to take presets with 500 lb Mk 82 bombs and pods with M247 rockets without researching any modifications has been fixed.
Ground Vehicles
• New reticles and presets for the following tanks have been added to the Sight settings menu: Leclerc, Challenger 2, Merkava, Ariete. We would like to thank authors from WT Live as these sights use reticles made by them.
Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.

Three Mi-24's at a Discount to Mark the Anniversary of its First Flight!

The legendary Mi-24 made its maiden flight on September 19th 1969, 55 years ago. It remains one of the most widely used attack helicopters in the world to this day. More than 3,500 Mi-24s were produced, dozens of countries used it (and still do!), and it has taken part in more than 30 different armed conflicts.
The Mi-24D temporarily returns to the game with a 30% discount!
This helicopter is available in the game with a 30% discount, at 8560 5,992 Golden Eagles.

When: From today until September 23rd (07:00 GMT).
Where: USSR > Helicopters > Premium vehicles.

About this helicopter
  • The Mi-24D is one of the fastest helicopters in the game. Its armor can withstand small-caliber weapons fire, and its machine gun can deal with lightly armored opponents. But its main advantage is its wide selection of secondary weapons. From gun pods, free-falling bombs to missiles and rockets. The S-24 rockets and Falanga ATGM with up to 650 mm armor penetration are particularly good to use!

Also until September 23rd (07:00 GMT), there’s a 30% discount for the Mi-24P HFS80 (Germany) and Mi-24P (Italy), for 6,111 Golden Eagles each. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to try out the legendary Soviet helicopter in the research trees of other countries!
