Welcome to the 20th War Thunder Steam Screenshot Competition!


Awesome work on last week’s contest! We loved your historical, fictional camouflages as well as your decoration collection, they really captured our imaginations. The three most popular and three selected by us will get 300 GE. See the winners down below!

[h2]Let’s begin the 20th edition of our competition![/h2]

Create a stunning screenshot and submit it on the War Thunder Steam Community Hub with the tag #WTscreen20. You have time until the 24.06.2022 to submit your screenshot.

After that date, 6 winners will be selected (3 of which will be the highest rated by the community and 3 selected by our judges), each of which receive a reward of 300 GE.

  • Found a bridge in the game? Think you can pull off a crazy stunt in an aircraft, drive over it or even sail under it? Give it a go! Post a screenshot of your vehicle flying, driving or sailing close to or through a bridge, or simply take a nice photo with one in the background. The choice is yours!
  • Screenshots need to be compliant with the War Thunder rules, otherwise they will not be considered.
  • You need to be the author of the screenshot.
  • Screenshot needs to be new. You cannot use those which have previously been published or used in other competitions.
  • We will only accept raw screenshots from the game. You cannot use any editing software nor any other visual enhancements (like Nvidia Ansel filters).
  • You can use filters and settings built into War Thunder.
  • You can use the replay functionality built into War Thunder.
  • Rewards will be delivered to the author's account within 7 working days.

New authentic decals (available until July 19th)



Introducing a new set of rare decals for your vehicles! This time the heraldry of military forces of the nations familiar to War Thunder players is complemented by the emblems of the Argentinian Air Force and South African tankers - not very common guests in our digests.

You can find these decals in the “Weeks latest” section in the customization tab, after which they will be available to their owners in the thematic sections of vehicle customization.

Tasks can be completed in vehicles of rank II-VII.
  • The requirements for the decals may be checked in the “Weeks latest” section in vehicle customization or in the Achievements → Decals → Weeks latest.
  • Tasks can be completed in random battles and events, except “Enduring Confrontation” and “Assault” missions.
  • Decals received earlier have been temporarily moved to the section “Weeks latest” and will be moved later to the thematic sections.


Some of the decals were created by Colin 'Fenris' Muir, Jej 'CharlieFoxtrot' Ortiz, Ricardo "BlueBeta" Lo Verso and Branislav 'InkaL' Mirkov.

Previous decals have been moved to their respective sections for the appearance of vehicles:

  • Emblem of "Tuskegee Airmen", 332nd Fighter Group, USAF, 1944 → USA.
  • Emblem of the 210th Sturmgeschutz-Brigade of Wehrmacht → Germany (tanks).

In the Danger Zone update we have removed the camouflage rarity grades. All camos available in the trophy will be of the same rarity: green - “uncommon”.

All camos from previous trophies will be converted to this rarity grade in the near future.

To unlock the trophy, you will need a new “Danger Zone" key, which can be purchased on the Market for GJN.

[h2]How to get it?[/h2]
  • The “Danger Zone” trophy drops periodically (with a specific probability) in random battles in all modes (except for the cooperative PvE “Assault” mode).
  • The minimum requirements to earn a trophy will be to participate in a battle, in a vehicle of rank II or higher, while achieving a battle-activity of at least 50%.

  • Speed, altitude, ammo and torpedo indicators have been restored to the aircraft HUD.
  • Flight parameters, engine and ammo indicators have been temporarily switched back to the old interface, with colour selection disabled. The new HUD version will be back when found issues are resolved.

  • SB2C (all) - elevator animation has been fixed.
  • Sea Hawk - elevator animation has been fixed.
  • I-15bis - LODs have been fixed.
  • JA37C - flaps animation has been fixed, animation of the intake hatches when reverse thrust is engaged has been fixed.
  • Yak-15 - damage effects have been fixed.
  • SK60B - animation of the intake hatches when reverse thrust is engaged has been fixed.
  • IAR-81C - flaps animation has been fixed from viewed from cockpit view.
  • P-39/P-400 - flaps animation has been fixed.
  • Tempest Mk.II, Tempest Mk.V - flaps animation has been fixed.
  • B-25J - bomb bay animation has been fixed.
  • Pe-3 (all) - bomb bay animation has been fixed.
  • FJ-4B - flaps animation has been fixed.
  • MiG-21PFM - a bug has been fixed where the Kh-66 missile was indicated as an ‘air-to-air” missile.
  • Typhon Mk.Ib/L - a bug has been fixed where rocket rails appeared on the right wing when suspended bombs were mounted.
  • M.D.450B - a bug has been fixed where rocket rails appeared on the right wing when suspended bombs were mounted.
  • F-4 Phantom II (all) — damping and shock resistance during crash landings has been increased (chance of landing gear breakage decreased).
  • MiG-27K — a bug with the display of the “Kaira” targeting equipment has been increased.
  • F-4 Phantom II (all) — a bug has been fixed with constant cannon rotation in the GAU4 gun pod
  • The seeker on the Mistral, Type 91, HN-6 and Stinger missiles now can be uncaged before launch
  • Tracked target representation on the radar scope has been changed - a velocity vector has been added.
  • Added Track-While-Scan (TWS) mode for Ja37 Viggen radar.
  • Better acquisition range and life time for the Matra R-530F Missile (report 1), (report 2)
  • Added doppler notch filters for radar of F-4J/F-4M FGR2/F-4K/T-2 preventing it from detecting abeam targets as well as targets with small relative speed.

[h2]Ground Vehicles[/h2]
  • Т-34-85 (D-5Т) - the armour of the turret ring has been fixed.
  • ZTZ-96 - incorrect equivalent armour durability of the turret front has been corrected, now it corresponds to the armour value parameters as before.

[h2]Naval[/h2]
  • A bug has been fixed where in some cases the “Tool set”modification disappeared after battle.
  • IJN Kako - now able to fire main and auxiliary calibres with a single key.
  • HMS Hood - displacement value in the info card has been fixed (report).
  • Koln F220, Lubeck F224, HMS Leopard F14 - a bug has been fixed that prevented water pumping (report).
  • A bug has been fixed where naval shells were able to travel an unrealistically excessive distance underwater.

[h2]Missions and locations[/h2]
  • Preset of aircraft available in air battles in ground AB has been changed:
    • Aircraft with ATGM (AGM-65A, AGM-65B, Kh-29Т) added in the last updated have been moved from the list of available bombers to attack aircraft;
    • Aircraft with large-calibre unguided rockets (S-24) have been removed from the list of available bombers.
  • Restrictions on the availability of number of missions in ground battles from the BR sessions have been changed:
    • All missions in the locations Frozen Pass, Ash River, Karelia, Kuban, Jungle, Volokolamsk have been limited to vehicles below a BR of 8.7;
    • All missions in the location Red Desert have been limited to vehicles above a BR of 9.7;
    • AB Only:
      • All missions in the locations European Province, Fields of Poland have been limited to vehicles above a BR of 9.7;
    • RB Only:
      • [Domination] and [Battle] missions in the location Surroundings of Volokolamsk have been limited to vehicles above a BR of 9.7 (not available in AB);
      • [Capture] and [Battle] missions on location Fulda have been limited to vehicles above a BR of 9.7.
  • New mission variants have been added to the rotation for ground battles. Also accessibility limits of redesigned missions have been changed:
    • [Domination #2] missions in the location 2nd Battle of El Alamein and Hürtgen Forest have been added to sessions with BR of 5.0 and higher;
    • [Domination #2] mission in the locations Mozdok have been added to sessions with BR of 6.7 and higher;
    • [Domination #2] and [Battle #2] missions in the locations Vietnam and Maginot Line (large variants) have been added to sessions with BR of 8.3 and higher;
    • [Domination #2] and [Battle #2] missions in the location Fulda (large variants) have been added to sessions with BR of 9.7 and higher;
    • [Domination #1] and [Battle #1] missions in the locations Vietnam and Maginot Line (small variants) are now available in sessions with BR of 3.7 or higher in AB and BR of 5.0 or higher in RB;
    • [Domination #1] and [Battle #1] missions in the location Fulda(small variants) are available in the sessions with BR of 6.7 or higher.
  • A bug has been fixed that allowed driving outside the mission borders in the [Domination #1/2] Fulda Gap missions without warnings to turn back to the battlefield.
  • A bug has been fixed where the capture points in the [Conquest #1/2] Port Novorossiysk were placed too close to the buildings.
  • A bug has been fixed where some trees in the Guadalcanal locations were hanging midair.
  • Czech hedgehogs have been removed from passages on the Stalingrad and Berlin tank locations.

[h2]Sound[/h2]
  • The balance of the sound groups has been slightly corrected (bullet flights, gun shots of allied/enemy, explosions, etc.).
  • Low frequencies of the tank gun shots have been slightly increased.
  • Low frequencies of the explosions have been slightly increased.
  • Allied/enemy helicopters have become more distinctive from the ground.

[h2]Other[/h2]
  • A bug that might cause the client to crash when rewinding a client replay has been fixed.
The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.
