Legend of Victory: T-34-85 “Partisan”

80 years have passed since May 1945, when the Second World War in Europe ended. It’s time to celebrate Victory Day! In this event, you’ll be able to get a decorated Soviet T-34-85 that was used in ‘45, decals dedicated to the capture of Berlin, and a profile icon of Grigory Brazhnikov.
From May 8th (11:00 GMT) until May 20th (11:00 GMT), earn mission points in Ground Battles, unlock stages and receive rewards!

T-34-85 “Partisan” — A Premium Medium Tank for the USSR at Rank III
The T-34-85 was a symbol of victory for the USSR over Nazi Germany. This medium tank is generally an all-rounder, featuring good mobility, decent protection and good firepower. In honor of Victory Day, a decorated version of the T-34-85 tank with a classic 85 mm ZIS-S-53 gun, decorated with a red banner and special identification marks is available in this event. The T-34-85 “Partisan” has a new, highly detailed model, and in the next War Thunder major update we plan to update the other older T-34-85 models as well.

We’d like to note that in the future the T-34-85 in the research tree will be moved to Rank III, and a new T-34-85 with the STP-S-53 “Taran” stabilizer will be added to Rank IV in the tree. The premium T-34-85E will stay at Rank IV. Stay tuned!

In 1945, Lieutenant Grigory Brazhnikov took part in street battles in Berlin in a T-34-85. The tank company under his command cleared 32 city blocks, with Brazhnikov himself claiming to have destroyed an enemy medium tank and a Ferdinand. In total, Brazhnikov achieved 16 victories during the war.

Among the rewards in the event is also this chest. When opened, there is a chance to receive one of the following items:
 • 50,000 - 100,000 Silver Lions
 • Silver Lion and Research Point boosters
 • Random Wagers and Orders
 • Universal Backups (1 - 3)
 • A random camouflage for a vehicle you own
 • 1 day of Premium Account
How to get all rewards
Each stage is unlocked for 35,000 mission points and brings a new reward.

Please note: After finishing a stage, you need to collect the reward manually. To do this, click on your name in-game, go to “Legend of Victory: T-34-85” and click the “Get Reward” button.

You’re able to earn mission points in Ground Battles at Rank III or above in Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles. The number of mission points to complete a stage depends on the game mode and the maximum Rank of the vehicle that you use in battle. There’s a multiplier for earning mission points, which is shown in the task description in-game.

You can also earn mission points by using event vehicles that are Rank I and II. Event vehicles that can be used have the name of the event that they were obtainable in on their stat card.
Stages change every two days at 11:00 GMT on May 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th.

Rewards are given when you complete a specific number of stages
• For 1 Stage: trophy with a random reward
 • For 2 Stages: one of the decal rewards
 • For 3 Stages: trophy with a random reward
 • For 4 Stages: one of the decal rewards
 • For 5 Stages: “Grigory Brazhnikov” profile icon
 • For 6 Stages: non-tradable coupon for the T-34-85 “Partisan”
Discounts on purchasing stages using Golden Eagles
Unfinished stages can be purchased for Golden Eagles, but if you’re significantly close to completing a stage, its price will now be significantly reduced.

Let’s say you have earned 85% of the required mission points to complete a stage, then the price of purchasing this stage will be halved. If you’re near the finish line for a stage and are at 95% progress, then the price will be reduced by five times. For example, if you’ve scored 30,000 mission points, then the price for unlocking this stage will be 349 Golden Eagles. If you’ve scored 33,500 mission points, then you’ll only need to pay 139 Golden Eagles. Remember to keep this in mind if you cannot complete a stage on time!
The Upgrade for coupon
When you complete 6 stages, you’ll receive a non-tradable coupon for the T-34-85 “Partisan”, where using it will immediately activate the vehicle onto your account. If you don’t want the vehicle and would like to sell the coupon on the Market, you’ll need the “Upgrade for coupon” item.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item can be earned in parallel with the stages throughout the event from May 8th (11:00 GMT) until May 20th (11:00 GMT) for 500,000 mission points.

After receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” item, you can convert a non-tradable coupon for the vehicle into a tradable one and sell it on the Market. The tradable coupon can be sold after 6 days from the moment it’s created.

The “Upgrade for coupon” item is valid until May 23rd (11:00 GMT). Until this time, you can use it or exchange it for War Bonds. Afterwards, it’ll disappear from your inventory.

To make a tradable coupon, select the “Coupon T-34-85 “Partistan” (USSR)” in your inventory and click the “Modify” button.

You can track the progress of completing stages and receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” by clicking on your Nickname > Achievements > Legend of Victory. If you don’t manage to complete a stage on time or would like to purchase a stage, until May 23rd from the Achievements window, you can purchase each stage with Golden Eagles which will give you the corresponding rewards.

Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update.
Stepan Andreevich Neustroyev
Stepan Andreevich Neustroyev was a Soviet officer who commanded the 1st Rifle Battalion of the 756th Rifle Regiment in the 150th Rifle Division from 1943 in the Baltic, Vistula-Oder, East Pomeranian and Berlin. In Berlin, his regiment stormed the main entrance to the Reichstag — both Mikhail Yegorov and Meliton Kantaria, who raised the Soviet banner over the building, served under Neustroyev. Neustroyev was supposed to carry the Victory Banner at the parade on Red Square on June 24th, 1945, but was unable to do so due to a leg wound. Later, the Victory Banner was donated to a museum.

You can immediately purchase this profile icon for Golden Eagles until June 3rd (11:30 GMT) without completing tasks. To find it, go to your Nickname → Achievements → Pages of History.
May 1st — May 4th

Operation Oboe One: Battle of Tarakan
The first part of the Borneo Operation in 1945 was the battle for the Indonesian island of Tarakan between Japan — which captured the island in January 1942 — and the Allies, the United States and Australia. The main strategic target was the airfield, which was so damaged during the fighting that by the time it was restored, the war was practically over.
May 4th — May 7th

Battle of Madagascar
To prevent the possible establishment of Japanese submarine bases in Madagascar which was governed by Vichy France, the Allies landed on the island on May 5th, 1942, and completely subjugated it within six months. Control over Madagascar was transferred to Free France.
May 7th — May 10th

Victory in Europe Day
It has been 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe! Germany surrendered and the War in Europe came to an end after six long years. The victors have a ceremonial parade and celebrations.
May 10th — May 13th

Operation Diadem
On May 11th, 1944, the fourth battle for the heights of Monte Cassino began, where the Axis stopped the Allies from advancing to Rome for four months. The British, Indians, South Africans, Australians, New Zealanders, Americans, Canadians, French, and Poles took part in this attack on the Allied side and suffered heavy losses. In total, 55,000 Allied soldiers and 20,000 Axis soldiers died at Monte Cassino, which is why this victory is considered Pyrrhic.
May 13th — May 17th

The end of the Tunisian Campaign
On May 6th, 1943, the Allies captured Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. The Axis forces in North Africa had no room to retreat and had all surrendered by May 13th. Victory in Africa opened the way for the Allies to turn their attention to Italy.
May 18th — May 22nd

Battle of Crete
Having conquered mainland Greece, Germany turned its attention to Crete, where the last remnants of the Greek Army and a British Commonwealth garrison were hiding. On May 20th, 1941, Germany launched Operation Mercury, with paratroopers capturing an airfield and quickly sending in the main body of mountain infantry. By June 1st, the island’s defenders had been routed.
May 23rd — May 26th

Senger Line
The Gustav Line in central Italy was followed by a German defensive line named after Adolf Hitler. However, after the defeat at Monte Cassino, Hitler himself ordered it to be renamed in order to avoid the cost of his reputation if it fell. The line was named after General Senger and only lasted a week, as on May 24th, the Allies broke through it and cleared the way to Rome.
May 27th — May 31st

The F-4 Phantom’s First Flight
On May 27th, 1958, the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II made its maiden flight. In the first few years following, it set many records for speed, flight altitude and rate of climb. It became the first aircraft capable of maintaining stable flight at an altitude of over 20 km. It debuted a pulse-Doppler radar and titanium was used in the aircraft’s production for the first time.
